    For anyone who is doubting Khamzat potential. Ikram has a win over yaroslav amosov in sambo who is ranked no. 5 in bellator p4p. The sayings "khamzat is untested in the game" are not so relevant...

      I think khamzat wins but to bring up bellator idk if i like. Chandler came over from bellator and his only win is against Dan hooker. Top competition in the ufc is extremely different like Ryan bader couldn’t do shit with Francis.

    Respect to this man for answering continuous questions about that brutal knockout and the only loss on his record for 8 minutes straight, kinda annoying but he handled it well. He definitely is right about Khamzat looking like he was starting to gas though, he was breathing much harder while his movements started to get slower and sloppier. Beautiful knockout tho glad he landed it

    He didn’t just get ‘caught’. Khamzat made a perfect read when Ikram was throwing jabs the whole fight and countered his Jab with the uppercut. Plus Khamzat was only 1 year into doing MMA going into that fight so it’s obvious that’s he’s gonna bring a lower fight IQ like making mistakes gassing himself for the takedowns and yet Ikram had been doing MMA his whole life (sambo) and still lost to a guy only 1 year into mma. So it’s obvious who’s more talented and a better fighter. Khamzats probably at another level now for Ikram to beat him tbh.

    Ikram is an amazing fighter as well as an amazing person , 2016 World Combat Sambo Champ , when I saw his resume and the fact that Khamzat was his only loss I knew the guys in the UFC were in for it with Borz , Burns is going to fold like a chair , he couldnt hang with Ikram here , Burns is good but is a small WW , seems like the WW division is changing , Holland , Ponzinibio , Khamzat , hopefully they all go back/to MW lol but it seems like the UFC WW Div. is the new hot MW prospects popping off point , sucks for the LW's wanting to jump up.

    dont forget that khamzat is also having a tough weight cut at welterweight, he had wrestling matches at LHW and many at Middleweight

      @@T_Meyer101 I'm not competent enough, but probably the most brutal part is the last few days of water weight cutting, no water, no minerals, deprives your body significantly. I think the food part is manageable to some extent

    I would like this guy to be in the UFC. Interesting that it was his welterweight debut when facing Khamzat, but calling it luck and a poke is just bullshit, he got knocked down several times until that clean knockout came

      Khamzat landed 2 low kicks, the first one sounded over the arena, the second, right before the knockout, had noticeable impact on Ikram. If not for the uppercut, I am sure that Khamzat would either make 1 or 2 more low kicks, with devastating consequences for Ikram, or fake one and go for strike or takedown with success. Ikrams leg was already compromised after that second kick..

    Proud to be a part of BRAVE CF from the founding days. We had the greatest prospects in the world, unfortunately we were in a non-English speaking part of the world with MMA publications ignorant about MMA and knows just UFC. Ikram is one among the best around dominating across divisions and a massive combat sambo experience. Do not forget Jarrah Al Selawe who was the champion of the division. Jarrah, Ikram, Khamzat, Mohaev would kill most of the division without breaking sweat.

      I can appreciate that but journalist will chase what gives them the biggest pay out. If the biggest audience was in the US well thats just business and nothing else. That said you have to be special to get fans to watch you lay and pray for a victory. No one is entertained by that for long.

      Yea but he got dropped more than once in that fight. Khamzat just started mma and made some bad decisions especially exhausting himself for the takedowns. But one thing I've noticed is Khamzat gets technical when he gets tired and landed that beautiful uppercut. Also ikram was getting outstruck in the fight.

    This guy is so humble and wise man, He's not lying when he says that he wasn't outbox in this fight but just got caught clean.
    I wonder what would happen if he didn't rush on the feets and let Khamzat gassing out himself on the second and third round, knowing that Khamzat would not be able to take him down he would maybe be the one to win over Khamzat.
    He has a lot of potentials and I can see him be in the top 10 of the UFC knowing his sambo credentials, I hope Dana sign him ASAP so they can also make a banger rematch in the UFC.

    Chimaev and Khabib might have a lot of unknown fighters on their record but seeing how the fighters from that region have a very good record in the UFC, those guys are probably better than a lot of top 15 guys. Maybe not all top 5 but they're better than a lot of old once-elite gatekeepers in the UFC

    Aliskerov is a good human being has a big heart and kind, as a fighter of his calibre he wants a rematch show that he recognize Khamzat of high calibre too, i am quite sure if you asked Khamzat of all ufc' top ranked MW right now no one is at Aliskerov' level in the sense of posing a good challenge to him

    Ikrams good but no way can he say he was a more dominant fighter than khamzat he’s had multiple bouts go 2-3 rounds khamzat has never been past 2 rounds and even in those fights he had control from start to finish khamzats a forward pressuring destroyer who bullies the opponent with his presence ikram is more methodical and patient with his style

    Ikram Aliskerov many times became a champion of the world and Russia in COMBAT SAMBO and if you ever seen championships in combat sambo it's actually similar to MMA than any other combat sport so I'm not surprised that for Khamzat that was the most difficult fight in his career.

    This guy is a FUCking beast. Before the KO, the fight was very close, both have top stamina and fight IQ. Ikram is the only fighter to have ever given Khamzat trouble. I hope they fight again!

    An interesting fact about khamzat is that he won gold during the Swedish national wrestling championships but couldnt go to the olympics due to issues getting papers.

      @@fightsportspace7327 it’s his size, his technique and his cage Control. He’s also an overall great grappler with some good judo knowledge and amazing BJJ for his belt level. But in terms of only freestyle wrestling there we’re bette guys in the ufc. Like DC, Romero and of course Cejudo.

      @@benjaminpolska6585 If he would have wrestled at 97Kg yes, but thats not his weight class. His weight class would be 86 Kg. I doubt that he would be able to beat yazdani or Taylor- but maybe he would be able to win silver? Dont forget that his wrestling is on olympic level. He beat wrestlers 10-0 who participated at the olympics (which doesnt actually mean much) but he also said that one of the guys who he beat as an Junior/cadet in russia, became a world champion. We dont know exactly how good his wrestling is, but based on these facts he is surely a world class wrestler.

      As compared to opponents in UFC not landing a single proper punch on him, plus stuffing his takedown attempts. Everything is relative and Khamzat has met absolutely 0% resistance in UFC. That's what.

    I am amazed at people who write that it was difficult for Khamzat. Do you even understand that Khamzat at that time was a complete novice in MMA? Khamzat only came to MMA when he fought Ikram. At that time, Ikram had 8.0, and Khamzat was new. Now Khamzat is on a different level. I like Ikram and I liked that Khamzat said that Ikram is a good fighter and the hardest fighter of his career
