In this video i will be polishing and removing oxidization from a Kirby Heritage vacuum.
Showing you how to polish up your Kirby vacuum.
To as new like as it looked when you had that Kirby vacuum demonstration
This is exactly the same process i use to polish up my Kirby Avalir, Kirby G4, Kirby Sentria 2 or early Kirby Vacuum models.
Put a new lease of life and the bling bag into your Kirby Avalir Vacuum or Kirby Legend 2 or Kirby Heritage, giving the answer to the question , are Kirby vacuums worth the money, are Kirby vacuum worth it ?
Kirby Vacuums do get oxidized overtime if stored in a damp area where moisture is present.
Also if you have used you Kirby shampooer and got water or Kirby shampoo on your Kirby vacuum.
The stains on you new Kirby vacuum in 2020 can be disheartening.
This video will show you how easy it is to remove finger marks or water marks on your Kirby Vacuum.
Whether you have owned you Kirby Avalir 2 12 months or your Kirby Avalir for 6 years.
    Or even own a Generation G4 , G5 , G6 , G7 or Ultimate G.
The polishing process is exactly the same as i use on the Kirby Legend 2.
Even the older Kirby shampoo system that had aluminium can be polished up transforming you Kirby vacuum to look just as good as a new Kirby vacuum in 2022
Also the Kirby G6 floor polishing kit had a aluminum polished head.

@@KirbyEnthusiast are used to re-polish them with a buffer rebuild the innards with genuine parts there are other companies that make motor parts but we always use the genuine when I worked in the vac shop. There was literally a mountainous pile back in one room of the things and I used to pull one out about once or twice a week rebuild it and polish it up and we can sell it in the shop and I’d make a couple of bucks off of it

Glad to see that it is possible to take care of this issue! My Avilir got stuck in my garage for a few months due to a variety reasons, where there's no protection from the humidity, and it's definitely not in the best of conditions visually. Now I've got myself a fun weekend project (assuming I won't need to use the Kirby that weekend! Had a few issues with worn belts and badly positioned beater bars, as well as a nasty hair clog in the motor section that I only recently discovered and cleared out, so I've got a bit of vacuuming and shampooing that needs to be done first once I get some new belts!)

At the vac shop where I worked for years, we use a power wheel buffer & buffing rouge to buff out the old Kirbys and put a shine on the like paper brand new.

Great result Dean.I can go to my old garage and pull out and straighten old Aussie nails in the timberwork they are high grade steel made in OZ..as opposed to Chinese nails from Bunnings which are garbage...Same goes for Aluminium...the older metal is of a higher grade and much better quality...as a retired Electroplater who specialised in Zinc,Cadmium and Chrome I shake my head at the rubbish we are being sold.I have a twenty three year old Simpson Washing Machine..made in OZ...the Chassis is high grade steel...I only have to tap Thai made machines to know they too are low grade junk.

I used 1200 wet n dry using warm soapy water to remove all corrosion, then buffed using T cut to a mirror finish, finally finished off using Autosol polish to give it a nice lustre and protection. It takes time to do the job right and if there is a lot of corrosion the 1200 grit will get rid of it without scratching deeply. I do like the old ways of polishing though, I still polish paintwork using old methods because they never fail. You are not afraid of a little elbow grease, which is, I am sad to say, lacking in the young today.

    • @KirbyEnthusiast
      @KirbyEnthusiast  Рік тому

I didn’t d use wet and dry 1500 in another video where I removed deep scratches on Kirby g6,
The silvo to me smell like T cut so I think it had the same properties.
I don’t a little bit of elbow grease , I think you appreciate it more when you put the time and effort in.
I also have updated version of this video due to sound issues in this one from 2yrs ago
Thanks so much for awesome comment and support . 👍👍
