Thank you for sharing your video it was lovely! And served as a wonderful way to better introduce my son to Ernest Hemingway and the places he loved. (He's a pre-teen as has little interest/attention in such things. So your shorter and direct style was perfect!) Seeing the locations differences and likenesses between today and the brilliance of the roaring 1920s was also a charming touch. I'm a descendant of Ernest Hemingway and this was a fun opportunity to teach my son about his family lineage. I hope you will continue to make more videos similar to this. Maybe another including Ernest and some of his more recognized friends such as Picasso, the Fitzgeralds, etc. Try to set your perfectionism aside and allow yourself to enjoy your artistic outlet. You did a great job putting this together! But I too struggle with perfectionism and can naturally relate. Best wishes and I hope to see more from you. Cheers
Thanks for your thoughtful comment! It's nice to hear that people are enjoying my videos :) How neat that you are descended from such a fascinating and talented man! If you come to Paris, it's definitely worth taking the time to walk in Hemingway's footsteps. The shops and cafés have opened up again, so we've returned to some sense of normalcy. I appreciate your encouragement! My motto is "done is better than perfect," but I always have to ignore the urge to get that one last detail right. I'm currently working on some geopoltics videos, but am considering more people/culture centered videos such as F Scott Fitzgerald and other Americans in Paris. Stay tuned!
Good job. Do another vid now that covid is mostly gone. Marshall Ney survived the Russia campaign, and the Waterloo Campaign. He was executed by the Royalists after Napoleon was overthrown the second time.
Fascinating, thanks for sharing! I actually did a follow-up video in Augst 2021 after most restrictions were lifted ua-cam.com/video/J80q57iFmyw/v-deo.html

A lot is left....! All the resturants, hotels and bars.... still there.
I live in Princeton, Paris is my favorite place, I have read this book and several others I am not a Poppa fan. I will be back when it is rational.
He certainly had his faults, but it was interesting to imagine what Paris would have looked like from his eyes.
