- Explore the Paris immortalized by Ernest Hemingway in “A Moveable Feast.” See where he lived, wrote and ate in the 1920s. From the old houses of the Mouffetard market street to the historic St. Etienne-du-Mont, learn how Paris also influenced the works of other writers like Joyce, Orwell, Balzac, Hugo and Verlaine. And sit on the steps made famous by Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris.” The tour departs from the Cardinal Lemoine Metro every Friday from March to December. It cost €15 and there’s no need to book. | paris-walks.com
"A Moveable Feast" was my first Hemingway book. After seeing this tour, I really want to go on it.
Update: Went on this tour and it was well worth it.
These are stunning tours given by one of the most intelligent and talented person I know, but he is my brother and it runs in the family
I’m a huge “Midnight In Paris” fan and have recently gotten into Hemmingway as a result. It’s really nice to see the spots mentioned in “A Moveable Feast”. The tour looks like something different to do other than the same old sightseeing 😁.
Incredible movie for us Romantics!
Yep, Paris Walks is for advanced travelers. They offer so many ways to see Paris as it is and was.
I did especially like the Hemingway character. He spoke like Hemingway wrote.
Loved this! I am in the middle of watching Ken Burn's Hemingway and videos like this very much enhance the Hemingway experience!
Glad you liked it! Paris Walks has some incredible ways to spend a few hours in Paris.
This is awesome thx
Brilliant & what a relieving movable feast
Fascinating stuff.
If it wasn't for Parisiennes, Paris would be the most beautiful city there is.
I want to go on this tour!
i see him as the reincarnation of midnight in paris in real life haha
Not a fluent French speaker but does that plaque at 0:50 say Joyce was a British writer of Irish origin? Not true, Joyce was definitely NOT British.
Yes it does. Because when he was born Ireland was in the UK.
@@arnoldhell8466 ... Yep.
Then there was the bad weather.
I can tell you what I ate in Paris 50 years ago.
How many compelling tours are destroyed by this need to evoke movies. This pandering to few has the effect of alienating the rest. As a reader of classic literature, I find very little about Hollywood movies that get history right, never mind help out a tourist.
Suggestion: Offer two Hemingway tours, one for adults and the rest for Americans.
I found this video as research for reading A Moveable Feast, but if I ever go to Paris, I’ll be sure to take this tour!
