Oh oh, my bad, I just saw that you have that amazon link in the description already. I just remembered also, I found the shocks to be way to soft, I put #1000 Diff oil on mine no more bottoming out on a 3 inch jump.
great review... always looking on ebay for a used tacon but they still have a following and usually sell for nearly $100. Hoping to score one cheaper sometime :-) I've owned a mini 8ight and heard good things about these cars. Like to try one either buggy or SCT. I heard the hub carriers break easily, is that true for you? thanks
I believe you are referring to the spindles. It appears they have started making the cars using the new spindles (I note this in part 1). The new ones aren't an issue. The spindles are inexpensive anyways but this vehicle came with the new ones and just I checked the brand new SCT I have and it appears to have the new ones as well. I can't remember the last time I replaced those actually. On the soar I have the aluminum ones which haven't caused me grief and look beautiful but pricey. The soar is basically a mini8 but half the cost. My brother has the mini8 and we race all the time, definitly a great car. But the tacons are just way better priced.
Ehrhart Racing RC cool glad they addressed that problem.... i do see on nitrorcx the green tacon soar brushed is going for $90. I've been eyeing it for a while and it'd be $40 to upgrade to BL from hobbyking stuff. have to admit always keeping an eye on ebay for a used mini 8ight again. thanks for the reply
Watch atomickrc.com as well. Their sales are awesome. Like right now they have the brushless rally for $120. www.atomikrc.com/collections/ready-to-run-trucks/hide-sold-out-items+lc-racing
I got the soar brushless and i have a question. Do you need to change anything or do you need anything to run a lipo or do you just put it in?. Sorry im still a noob
+Arlette Padilla It's a fine question. You can run the LIPO and it should be fine. I can't remember what it defaults the cutoff voltage to, but it is 3.0v or above. You should always check your battery voltage after you run your vehicles, especially for the first time you run the vehicle if you ran it dead. Your charger will likely show you the individual cell voltage which should be 3.0v or above. I think 3.4v is much more safe and you aren't pushing the vehicle.
Go to amazon .com and search "lc racing" under toys and games. You will find way cheap prices for replacement parts, and even the red alloy upgrades. I got a set of body panels for around $9. The prices change every day, (for some reason) mostly down 5-15 cents a day, but sometimes up too.I luv this little car, I painted mine to match my exo Terra axial(the black and silver one here on tube). And if you want more wheel options, 1/10 rally wheels work perfect thats what is on mine.
Are you looking for more videos of this car in particular? I have a few other LC racing vehicles I am in the process of reviewing. As well as some better footage of this beast moving. Also have a lot of equipment I want to review such as the track hardware.
***** I finally got out and drove the SCT. That thing is impressive. I don't like the footage, the track was insanely busy so you can't tell which car you are suppose to be watching. I'll try to get something up Sunday because this weekend is a nice long weekend for me and it should be fun to get this on our 1/14th scale track by itself. Thanks for the interest!
***** It snowed like nobody's business this last weekend and so outdoor reviews of these little guys are out of the picture at the moment. I did release the unboxing for the SCT and will have the Rally done soon. I know they aren't as fun but wanted to get something out. Also working on a review of the Tacon Soar and new video format.
I definitely appreciate the opportunity you guys gave to run this on the ehrhart racing track
Another great review thanks ehrhart racing RC
