Then the progression from "we were showing our buttholes to each other" to the moving moment of "if this was our last conversation, what would you want me to know" - they are just so real. They give me hope. Not just because I hope to meet someone who would appreciate my company as much as they do each other's, but just witnessing something so beautiful and seeing that it exists is amazing.
that butthole thing is so uncomfortably relatable. & as a nurse, I had an instructor say that you should be checking those places. And I never forgot that. So, I do know what my butthole looks like. And the other side too.
I’ve been with my husband for 10 years, we have a one year old now and in hindsight; Having someone to share our joy with has been the most amazing part of our lives. When you have a baby, it changes what you normally do though. You have to give up parts of yourself and your relationship. I’m still in the early years of parenthood but I must say, sometimes I miss my husband in a way I didn’t expect. Maybe when my son is older my husband and I will have time together again - with the opportunity to reminisce on the happy and precious time we spent with our son.
