I’m so thankful as an LAPD SWAT Officer that we have Air support. We have had dangerous situations when we need to evacuate a seedy warrant and the suspect escapes and air support wasn’t on scene and then we have to go through the process of of course finding the suspect. Air support great group of officers.
Hey they’re your eyes in the sky just in case they escape and run so they’re your info kings they’ll take care of the information so law enforcement officers can keep eyes in the sky and direct the officers to the suspect or suspects depending on the situation.
That would be pretty awesome to do a ride along in a helicopter, as much as i despise those choppers at all hours overhead my whole life being an LA native, but still
@Fernando Aispuro not really bud a ride along is when you ride with a officer during there shift not just a joy ride. You basically shadow the officer during there shift.
I'm not exactly sure unfortunately but when we were doing the ride along (or fly along if you will), we could hear the chatter and they explained that they listen to 8 different frequencies at the same time. It's just a matter of training your ears to listen to the most important calls to go on. They prioritize the calls that way.
@ 8:33 why is LAPD flying over the City of Compton? Curious unless refueling at Woodley Airport of something. The County Courthouse is next to the MLK Memorial in the city. I live here and know the terrain pretty darned well from what they're seeing. Don't they just have jurisdiction in the City of Los Angeles and not the County where LASD has their air support doing the job? Must be a scenic tour for the passengers or something like that. Crenshaw is well to the west near Inglewood, so the radio chatter is edited as the poster says...They're nowhere near the Crenshaw Mall from the air references. Interesting that they'd fly near the city they're not working in...must be the airport for refueling. Got to be...only Woodley has jet type fuel for their machines. Only other one might be Hawthorne maybe, but Torrance Airport is well to the South of where they're flying in this vid...interesting.
I think they have jurisdiction on a certain strip along the 110. It's called Harbor Gateway neighborhood that connects majority of LA city to San Pedro neighborhood. It's a weird spot. It's a few blocks wide and encompasses the 110 freeway.
I didn't have the capability unfortunately so edited in some radio chatter to make the video a bit more exciting. They monitor 8 different frequencies at a time and prioritize it that way. They'll have at least 2 choppers in the air at any time just patrolling and assisting any calls that come through.
@@arashjadidiproductions The footage is in my trailer on my channel. I credited your production at the end of the trailer. I will use the footage for a true account that occurred JUNE 13th but it occurred years ago in the same area of Los Angeles - and was police in a helicopter. Here is my email victoriasommers.sleep@gmail.com Thanks
They listen to 8 different radio frequencies at a time and prioritize by most severe. It took some getting used to, to be able to focus on the calls and what was going on. Much respect for the job that they do.
Wait, a shooting? How does that happen when Cali has such strict gun laws. Don't the criminals know they are not allowed to have and use a gun like that. Its almost like they don't care about gun laws....thats odd.
I am blown away at how much crime exists in that city, so many calls! So much gun crime, I bet you guys have as many shootings in a day as what my city has in 6 months to a year. (I live in Melbourne, Australia)
Yeah, someone needs to hook KDUB up with a cupholder...my man cant be losing his energy drink mid-flight.
J rock Arizona Mango actually lol

Wow thank u. Also pour one out for your brothers on ground who do the hard work 👍
Why did you include radio traffic that had nothing to do with the video footage ?
It's to give it some sort of effect rather than not having any police chatter.
what a dork
You fooled me man, you had me thinkin all this was going on, im like wtf, I know LA is bad with shootings but not like that.
Onus News Service um there going to that call
That is what I was thinking, they were just joy riding.
This gotta be the Dopest job EVER!
was there some reason that the one piliot had OLD GUYS Rule on the back of his helmet?
Just some flare added on by the cops for fun.
I think it is, She is a LAPD Pilot and there are a lot of young men who lose their lives in LA and she wants all of them to become old men.
To LAPD shoppers made a low blessing.Made the lawmaker face shine upon you and be gracious to you
Is this the same place where Blue Thunder was shot?

The radio scanner was not related to the ride along. not cool. good footage though!
sure it was.
2:37 18th ST??? ES DE LA 18???
does the helicopter use a siren ?
Yes they do have sirens on them.
The siren is used to draw the attention of people on the ground. It is not used en-route to a scene.
The siren is the pure sound of rotor blades slicing through the air at a high rate, very effective as almost no civilian helicopters fly in low orbits
My favorite helicopter
These birds can tell you how many units are code 3 at once.
Hey, what helicopter is this? Is it the new H125 B3E or is it a bell 206? Plz let me know

You should do the lafd air one ride along

Hey, just out of curiosity, what radios does the LAPD use (portable), have they got newer models or still the motorola XTS 6000?
