This of course was done in the studio. This particular version was the first time Freddie sang it, he did it in one take, it was his run through, demo, call it what you will. They found the tapes in around 2017, added a refreshed piano track and used footage filmed at the time to create the video.
That’s right! Dave Clark, his mate, asked him to work on this musical he wrote, ‘Time’. Freddie wrote this actual song though (coz he puts his stamp on everything he does). He recorded it in one take. Dave got him to do this video recording session as a dress rehearsal the night before the ‘official’ performance that was in the final production of ‘Time’. Dave Clark lost the video recording and over the years would get his assistant to have a look through all the reels of film there was in his storage archive with each visit. Finally in 2017 it was found. Dave then spent a couple of years to match the recording to the video footage and had the piano redone with the original pianist Mike Moran. It’s stunning.
He did show must go on on one take as well it has been said in interview I have great respect for Freddie There's no singer who can do it on one take without starting over again. Their songs are hard up and down all the. Nobody can replace him
There will never be another like Freddie, he was a gift sent to us for such a brief moment in time, I feel honoured that he was around in my life time.
It seems as if Freddie just couldn’t help but express himself with his whole body, which emphasized what he was singing and made him a delight to watch.
Please react to Queen Save Me Live in Montreal 81. It is amazing! Freddie’s vocals are so beautifully clean and his vibrato is untouchable. You will have a new favorite I promise❤️
My hair on my arms, literally stand on end, ever since my favorite, Somebody To Love, was first played, there is something magical about Freddie's voice, that makes me cry,it's SO soothing and beautiful
I love your reactions and learn so much. I would appreciate your reaction on Mother Love by Queen. Note Freddie was too ill to complete the last verse so Brian did it. My favorite Queen song. Thx. 💛💛💛
What a perfomance... no one is near to the Freddie's level emotionally. The colors he adds to a song make Freddie next level and I am happy that he leave his teenage life in india
Every comment you make is a nugget of gold. Thank you and especially for listening to my Idol from the 1970s Freddie Mercury. Have you done any reviews of Aretha Franklin? I loved her voice. Freddie was also a fan of hers. I've recently discovered Roberta Flack too. It would be interesting to know if our own voices naturally fit a certain genre - jazz, gospel, pop, country and western etc., or can we choose? Freddie Mercury certainly could sing any genre, but he was a one off. I listened once to your comparing talent and training. Can you tell if a raw voice fits a certain type of music or is it the choice of the singer? I must look at your website! You react so honestly to singers and it was lovely how you spoke about Freddie Mercury. If I was young again I'd love to have trained as a singer and pianist.
This was produced and released almost 40 years after Freddie's death. Hence the mismatch between the vocal and the video. They simple overdubbed the new vocal on an old video. This is one of two songs (the other is "in my defence" for a musical his friend was writing. This version is made from a recently discovered demo tape of the song Freddie made for his friend. This tape was remastered and the piano added to make this version. So despite it being amazing, Freddie wasn't really trying it was just a do you like this? quick demo in one take
Great reaction as always. Could you please react to Queen My Melancholy Blues live, it is somewhat of a jazz song, I think you might like it. This clip was actually the first take or demo of the song. The song that was eventually released had a lot of overdubs and harmonies, almost like a choir. Dave Clark, who wrote and produced the song always liked the simple, first take, version of the song, but it was lost a few years. He eventually found it and made this video from footage of the original video, by using different camera angles.
Love him so much. What is interesting about this is that Freddie did not write the song, and it is Mike Moran, not Freddie, on the piano! I haven't seen this video, but it did give me a giggle, because there were two things Fred was bad at: Lip syncing and dancing. There is a great story about this making of this video in George Purvis' book, "Queen: The Complete Works".
I don't know if you have done a reaction video to "Golden Boy" performed by Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Cabelle. There is a lot of passion in that video and Montserrst is having a lot fun rocking out in her own way. Please consider reacting to it and also Luciano Pavarotti and Brian May singing "Too Much Love Will Kill You." Your reaction videos are incredible. You should be a judge on the Voice. I will support you on Patreon if you tell mw how because I have never done ot before. Please consider my two video requests you won't be disappointed.
Please i want you to react on Queen's song Show must Go On, i love Freddie no one sings like him snd i love how you react on all of his immortal songs, i'm from Manila, Philippines, thank u so much..
Just as you are reacting to videos without knowing the story behind it.... I’m reacting to your reaction.... I honestly feel that people should get to know the better Freddy songs...... and not only the mainstream ones.... I saw it also that there is a lip-syncing.... it is al together a remix.... It was nice to hear you point out some small extra points that I never saw in his shows.... I appreciate the songs even more after this.... thank you for your commenting
The best singer ever...for me
Me too.
For most
GIFT FROM GOD
Me too
FOR MEEEEEEEE
He just stepped out of heaven to show these modern singers how to do it right, as only he can, legendary
he's got the voice of an Angel...truly a gift..he moves you too..😇
And this version here is effectively just the demo tape...... And it's perfect.

Love Freddie. He FEELS the music. It moves me so much. Such a talent that can never be replaced ! Makes me cry !
There will never be another like Freddie, he was a gift sent to us for such a brief moment in time, I feel honoured that he was around in my life time.
Pure gold ! Freddie Mercury is THE MAN !
Freddie had so much passion .......He was so wonderful!!
I love the way that you look at him. Everyone can tell you absolutely adore him!
Freddie just makes me happy, period
This was for Time the musical. His friend Dave Clark was involved in the production and got Freddie to do this song.
It seems as if Freddie just couldn’t help but express himself with his whole body, which emphasized what he was singing and made him a delight to watch.
waiting for you to do another Freddie song. 💓
he is in heaven, but he left his heavenly voice for us.love him
It was as if God allowed him to come down and sing for us one more time and then at the end brought him back to Heaven.
Right? Thanks how I feel, too! ❤️
Oh god yes, that’s exactly how I felt too. He needed to do one last performance and he came and just gave it all. So incredibly beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
❤️
this song speaks to your soul

Thank you Valerie..
We are not worthy. 😍😍😍
Queen "Save Me" live at Montreal in 81 is amazing!
Save me Montreal is my favourite. Because this was real singing , up down knots, very difficult singing like save me Montreal. Only Freddie can
This is outstanding considering its a demo, better than the released version.
Incredibly well said!!
What a perfomance... no one is near to the Freddie's level emotionally. The colors he adds to a song make Freddie next level and I am happy that he leave his teenage life in india
Aah beautiful Freddie. A true RockGod who lives on forever. Gone too soon darling boy x
I loooveee your reaction ❤🥰
Very nice.
Unique and inimitable
Когда Фредди пел эту песню, он уже знал, что осталось ему не так много.

Why does opera singers love freddy mercury,s voice so much he is good but what makes his voice so special?
Maybe because it was a God gift!

This was just before he died!

I believe I once read that Freddie said he had to move when singing.
1985 this, yes it was studio recorded, so the chances are this was Lip synced as standard with most music videos (unless stated “Live Performance”)
Love this songhgg very much
MAGIC
React to exercise in free love please
This is so poignant. Thanks for reacting to this.

Never heard someone say petreon like that
Listen to Freddie Mercury's The Golden Boy
My first thought: this is lip synching. But I agree, the pure singing is wonderful, emotional, soft , forceful like in his prime and fresh.
Thought you might enjoy this phone interview with Dave Clark and how this video came about.

Those who teatch ! Can't .....
Which is it? You can't teach singers if you can't teach! 🤣
damn not even vocal coach can beat freddie vocal
react to the golden boy freddie mercury caballé
Amazing
And Simon Cowell knows little about music, his speciality is in getting male modes to do karaoke, and marketing that to teenage girls
