ok help! I've tried all of these. I can't even turn my computer off without holding power and volume up button. What a nightmare! Luckily I don't use this surface pro often so I don't care if I lose everything. Shift, escape, F1, F2, F8, F11,F12, Delete not working. HELP!

@@alina9843 Well i don't know, i was just suggesting what I did in order to make that blue menu appear. But you know what, at the end that didn't actually solved the problem in my computer. In fact, when I was about to give up I decided to left the laptop in the "undoing updates" loop, and 30 minutes after my laptop was totally fine.

If windows itself in loop mode auto reboot...How do we try all these options? First method shift +F8 is not showing advanced startup options

HALP BUT SHIFT F8 isn’t working, I’m stuck on a black screen with “undoing changes made to your computer”
I've tried a lot of solutions, and this one works for me;
1. Press ESC a lot
2. F11 - system recovery
3. Change OS
4. CHOOSE DEFAULT (NOT WINDOWS 10)
IF THE LOOP HAPPENS AGAIN, TRY TO DO THE STEPS 1-3 AGAIN, BUT THIS TIME, YOU SHOULD CHOOSE WINDOWS 10.

I'm stuck with this, and when I do the f8 thing, it brings me to (f12 setup) and (f2 boot options), then I press one and it brings me to the preboot system assessment. The other doesn't do much. I'm running the test right now

Hey guys. I saw many comments in here sayin that this video isnt helpful. But I must say it heloed me yo get ma lap back by following these steps showing in here. But the only thing is the first button differs for different laptops. For me it was esc button. And at last, keep in mind whrn doin these things u should unplug the ac adapter.

I too was worried and trying pressing all those keys and all but after about 1 hour while I was holding the shift key it booted on its own and was fixed. So maybe you should wait for at least an hour before doing anything intense like forcefully restarting it.

How did you get the safe mode up?
Basically the problem was
My windows was updating and the charge was full
It took 2 hrs for the uptd and later i checked my pc and laptop was shut down
I reopened to learn about upt and it said that undoing changes
And i waited for about 10 min and it was fixed
Same prblm mate mine took almost 3 hrs frm 4am to 7am am still waiting now undoing changes message appeared. Man this is baad hope it gets fixed i don't want to interfere n switch of the PC

If I could get to safe mode. My roomy knows how to do it. He done it before. Hopefully he can do it again. I hope it can be fixed this time. Thank goodness for my tablet. I give up on the main computer for the night. I wish I was tech smart. Ugh.
