Telethon donations range from a single dollar to tens of thousands. Supporting the largest network of educational and nonsectarian social services under Jewish auspices on the West Coast. Over the last 39 years The Telethon raised millions of dollars.
Funds generated by the Telethon support a range of Chabad's efforts, which include: Education, Summer Camps, Youth Programs, children with special needs, Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation, Community Outreach, Crisis Intervention, AskMoses.com and many others.
Over the last 39 years, the Telethon has helped Chabad forge a unique partnership with actors, musicians, athletes, civic leaders and corporate executives. Past participants include Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bob Dylan, Dennis Franz, Whoopi Goldberg, Anthony Hopkins, Magic Johnson, Jimmy Kimmel, Bernie Mac, Howie Mandel, Matisyahu, Edward James Olmos, Mike Piazza, Adam Sandler and Martin Sheen. The casts of numerous television shows, including 'Friends' and 'Everyone Loves Raymond,' have also made appearances.

I can't believe I have lived as long as I have without knowing about this! This is as surrealist a piece of performance art as any lyrics that Dylan has written! RIP Kinky!

That was awful.Dylan should have been playing chords along with Kinky.The funny thing was Kinky trying not to laugh.Kinky has told me some Dylan stories abd he does know Kinky's tunes.

I love it but it’s a little awkward too! Meaning serious but comedic too! The way he he boldly puts Bob on the spot Nd Bob’s facial reactions and calm responses to such big enthusiasm from Kinky! Lol! Then that domestic country jam with Bob backing! But it is touching too! Idk 🤷♀️ I’m a little confused but in a happily surprised way! 😀 Also Bob’s big coat which im sure was trendy at the time! 🤣 I just love Bob so much and love seeing him in this! ♥️ Thanks Wools!👏🙌

Mornin Wooly... It seems for me, with age, the melodies, harmonies, phrasing and chords play a huge part of a song..... these days its the lyrics im really interested in.....There s magic in it All.....the melodies keep Us humming the words.....for the good or not....even the inbetween stuff, thats not quite understood at the moment ...or is....thats why I ve always tried to whistle when I work, there s somethin to that...and to study BOB, is a study worth while.....not that theres any formula available....its in the Wind i reckon....BOB....The original Rolling Stone...thanks Wooly

@@GD-rd6ig Do I really have to explain this to you? I never said he didn,t want to raise money. he went on as a favor to Peter Himmelman. I said he wasn't comfortable asking people for money. But he did it for his friend. Bob never went on talk shows to push any of his albums like just about every other 'artist' . He would release it and it was up to the fans to find it.

I would only add, for anyone interested, that in addition to the son-in-law connection to Chabad, Bob developed a relationship with "The Rebbe" himself.
