One of Dylan's greatest "lost" songs. We are lucky that, one way or another, so many of the gems that could have been truly lost have been preserved and restored and are heard. Ever since he arrived in NYC over 60 years ago, people knew they were in the presence of an extraordinary figure.
“ How many treasures like this are hidden in the woods by the great Dylan?” And some say he can’t sing haha. Wow, what a wonderful song, beautifully sung by a complete and unique artist in his writing and delivery. Thanks for sharing this gem 💎
Dylan's voice is in great form in this recording. Also striking is the guitar work by Robbie Robertson, which perfectly complements this song. This recording provides some insight into how the two musicians developed such a close creative bond. Too bad the two of them didn't record more songs like this with just two guitars.
Whew! Beautiful song, beautiful blue sleeve. How'd that happen if the song was never finished? And am I the only one hearing this song as a precursor to "You're A Big Girl Now"?
My favorite song of all time. Something about it has always struck me. There's something so intimate to it. The video of it is really great too. The interesting bit is how long this recording is. It's like an interesting look into his 66 songwriting process
Beautiful! Can't quite make out the words, but if my past 43 years are still part of me, I will listen to this song over and over again until it becomes part of my inner repertoire.
I completely agree with your assessment of this tune.....was obsessed from the first time I stumbled on it, and this restored audio sounds so incredible. You made my day with this upload!

This song was recorded a couple weeks after a good friend of mine was born, and a couple months after I was born. On the day it appeared here I heard it for the first time. I sent the link to my friend, who had been diagnosed with cancer a few weeks earlier. He never got the link, though, because, unknown to me at the time, he had died the day before. This was months sooner than I had expected, and the loss hit me pretty hard. I listen to this, and hope he can hear it, somehow, wherever, however he might be.
I am so sorry for your loss, David. Life can be so cruel, but I am sure he would want you to keep listening to this song, and remember the happy times you and he shared. 😥🌈

Where she leads me I do not know
Well, she leads me where she goes
I can't find her nowhere
Well, she needs me here
All aware I can't hear her walk
I just cannot hear her talk
Though sometimes, you know you will
And when she comes my way
I'll just be left any night or day
I will hear her say
That I don't wanna try
I tried, also cried
But I can't leave her behind

One of Dylan's greatest "lost" songs. We are lucky that, one way or another, so many of the gems that could have been truly lost have been preserved and restored and are heard. Ever since he arrived in NYC over 60 years ago, people knew they were in the presence of an extraordinary figure.
Amazing work, it's a journey to be able to listen to this music edited with such quality.
Greetings from Brazil!
E de Portugal!
Pity the voice was not miked more closely. The guitar overwealms the vocal line.
Only Brazilians love to say they are from Brazil.....
@@thomasbusy3632 And only people from the United States say they are American, although everyone else in America is also...
@@BarbosaCities You missed the point...you dont see Americans posting: I'm from USA....but you will notice many Brasilians post: I'm from Brazil
I can hear "You're a big girl now" in this song.
🚫🍼💯😊
👍😊🎸
I also hear just like a woman...but I think maybe he already wrote that by this point
True!
I have been waiting for this to happened for 37 years...great job thank you!
My favorite song of all time. Something about it has always struck me. There's something so intimate to it. The video of it is really great too. The interesting bit is how long this recording is. It's like an interesting look into his 66 songwriting process
Very nice
This tune makes me swoon every time I hear it, thanks to you Swingin'! 👍 😊 ❤️
This could possibly have wound up on the next album if he had never come off his motorbike which changed everything. I've been up ten minutes, it's raining outside, and I come down to this. You've made my day SP. Abso-blinkin'-lutely wonderful. Ironically, nuances of his Country voice. Robin Witting
Reminds me of my 2 Angels 1 passed at 33 and my earth angel Aaron I luv and miss u both ❤❤❤
Just so beautiful. The voice and the melody
Thank you for restoring and sharing this beautiful ballad. It truly is special...

Must be one of the sweetest love songs that Dylan has sung. Thanks Swingin’ Pig.
Ahh finally someone's put this wonderful song together without the pauses. Thank you thank you thank you! Would love to hear someone cover this.
ask, and you may receive
No, nobody cover it please. Couldn do justice.
They did a cover of it on the "I'm Not There" soundtrack!
Very interesting what you did there. Thanks
I remember hearing this in Don't Look Back and wondered what it was. Thanks for sharing it.
This could be the “B” side of the Ionic “Blowing in theWind” recording…. so beautiful, sung so tenderly and sweet, Thank you😎
A brilliant engineering job. Thank you.
