Great video, we did this exactly as you did. Replaced the buttons with something more period but they all turned out great! Been reenacting 10 years now and the haters are going to hate. Thanks!
Thank you for the video...I have one of these conversion shirts I did awhile back...if u just change the buttons out from plastic to tin or bone or wood the shirts don't look to shabby
So many haters & trolls in the comments!!...this conversion well work fine for someone on a budget!!...just remove all modern tags, buttons & material and replace it!!...
high 69 hello there, looks like I found more ways to help, still gonna need your lessons, and I don’t know how to use a sewing machine so I couldn’t do this well, but I know how to hand sew,
For all the haters...this is what early civil war reenactors(50s,60s &70s) had to do to make a civil war shirt....and if done right doesn't look half bad
Tyler Heusinkveld no...remember that alot of reenactors did this back in the old days of reenacting...I even have one of these conversation shirts!!..just alittle sewing and change the buttons out...you won't even see the bottom seam especially if u wear your wool trousers high which was the fashion back then
OrlopRat42 reenactors had to do this back in 50s 60s and 1970s before sutlers started making them in mass production...I even have one of these type shirts...and if done right doesn't look half bad!!...just some sewing and change the buttons out for bone wood metal or China...
The collar can be cut and trimmed where it's stiched
do you have any ideas on how to make a vest to go with the shirt, and a pair of trousers?
