I love the new room and the changes to the Grand Floridian. My favorite part of Mary Poppins is when they sing Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. It's such a fun song and has a wonderful meaning.

The room is beautiful and elegant. My favorite part of Mary Poppins is when they jump into the chalk drawings and spend the day at the park. The carpet looks like it is a garden chalk drawing. The update definitely works.

So beautiful, I love all the fun little details of Mary Poppins. Really appreciate all the storage space so you aren't tripping over your luggage, bags or shoes in your room. At the beginning of the video, the color of the pillows on the bed, I absolutely love and think it's a very grand color. Maria you are so cute and it made me happy to see you and your happiness when you were looking at all the changes. I thought it was a lot of fun that you were matching the carpet in the hall ☺️☺️. I love all the new designs and it is a very cool history lesson about the doyle on the wall. My grandma loved making doyles and I remember my mom had one from her on the back sliding door for many years that my grandma made, her mom.

I love the room updates but I also love Mary Poppins so I may be biased. Lol. I think the rooms are still elegant and the colors are still true to the overall character and feel of the hotel. The lobby update will be refreshing and make it look a little less tired. I don't like change either but in this case I think it is more like a face lift so I am okay with it. 😂 My favorite scene from Mary Poppins is Step in Time or the penguin dance with Bert!

The new Mary Poppins style is beautiful. We actually saw one of the rooms within the last few months. I wonder how many people realize they can see these rooms for free as something different to do. It is fun for us to check them out.
They are beautiful! It was so hard to leave lol! Touring rooms is one of our favorite activities haha. I’m surprised not too many know about that either! It’s such a fun way to experience the Disney resorts!

Hi Maria! Thank you for the vlog. I was skeptical on how the rooms would look after the renovation but they turned out nice. Still have the look of grandeur and elegance. Just as long as they don’t take away the style that the Grand Floridian represents than it would be disappointing to me. Glad the piano player is staying but hopefully they can bring the band back too and maybe rotate. My favorite part from Mary Poppins is when they sing, Let’s Go Fly A Kite and the scene with Dick Van Dyke dancing on the roof. 😊

I like the main lobby the best but I love the DVC room more. The room looks so nicely updated and luxe. I wish they would change all the rooms at Grand Floridian to look like this.

I haven’t been able to watch as many vlogs lately, but I’m so so glad I caught this one! Those rooms are stunning and so incredibly elegant. I adore all the different wallpapers (especially the subtle Mary Poppins wallpaper in the breakfast bar area), and I wish I could have them in my home!
Aww no worries! That's the great thing about vlogs or anything on here you can binge watch anytime anything you may have missed! Especially here there are so many unique things we are excited to have brought you these last weeks and today! As you can tell I said I want to decorate my house this way too lol!

The room is absolutely beautiful! The GF has always been my favorite hotel! I’ve wanted to stay there since Full House went to Disney and Uncle Jesse played the piano 😂The rooms definitely match the elegance of the GF. Wonderful tour!

I am from the Mary Popp'ins 'generation ! It was the 1st Disney. Movie I saw in the theater. The rooms are beautiful very elegant! My favorite scene is when the horses on the Merry go round come Alive and Marys takes them on a great adventure!

I have always loved the Victorian era and think that the remodel still captures it with the floral and gold accents. As for Mary Poppins, my fav part is when the carousel horses travel the countryside. Mary's dress was so pretty. On a personal note, one Halloween I dressed as Mary in her blazer and skirt for my 1st grade class.

When I heard they were going to update the GF I was nervous but after seeing the new room I’m very hopeful. I think the design and colors are going to bring a new life to the lobby. I would definitely buy the artwork and roller pillows if they sold them
i felt the same exact way! we were really nervous, and not gonna lie, i'm still a bit nervous about the changes at the lobby too, but i'm really looking forward to seeing what it'll look like! i hope the iconic chandeliers stay around though! oh and those artwork and pillows!! so beautiful!

I like a lot of scenes from Mary Poppins I think the best was when the uncle that was laughing from the ceiling and they all ended up to the ceiling laughing and telling jokes.

My favorite part of Mary Poppins is the carousel scene. The new rooms look beautiful. Still on the fence about the changes. Glad the pianist is staying but do wish the band would come back.

such a beautiful room! i didn't realize how much of an upgrade the dvc rooms here at the grand were needed, and we were so pleased to see the renovations! even more spectacular in person!
We were lucky enough to stay in the grand Floridian 33 years ago during our honeymoon and just one year ago but both times were awesome. But yes it could use a little updating but not too much you don’t wanna lose any of that historical magic in my opinion.

My favorite Mary Poppins moment is when she pulls out the umbrella and flies away with the umbrella, which is the iconic part of the movie, I believe.

I believe the Spoon Full of Sugar song is great. There are many other great songs in that movie as well.
My favorite scene is when Mary sings Feed the birds and the woman on the steps of St Paul Cathedral

Great vlog Maria! The room looks pretty, but I stayed in the Big Pine Key building before the DVC remodel and the room looks smaller than it used to be lol. That being said, I think the Mary Poppins touches here and there are lovely. I still miss when they used to have the carpet with the fab five character silhouettes in the guest buildings and those Victorian Mickey lamps. By comparison, these new rooms are bright but I feel like they’re missing some heart. Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I hope they keep the main lobby just the way it is!
That’s a great point about those lost details! We know that Disney likes to change things around from time to time, and we understand that Mary Poppins’ Victorian era seems to make sense here!
The new building is nice / although I think I still prefer the original dvc building and layout. As for design im fine with the new building looking more “ modern” but I would prefer them to leave the main building and other dvc building the way it is ( refresh but not change too much).

I have stayed at the Grand Floridian before and it was very nice back in the day. I also stayed at the Contemporary before and after the retheme and really enjoyed the new theme at the Contemporary. My wife would have loved the new theme of the Grand Floridian being she was a Mary Poppins fan. I would go as far to say this retheme might have her replace the Contemporary as her favorite. I like what I am seeing and it is making me want to try it the next time I go to Disney. You could make your vacation just the GF with all the stuff they have there. I have wanted to try the spa there. When we go to Disney we typically spend time in the rooms relaxing. I try to take it easy and not rush because I don't want to have to take a vacation from my vacation. It would be cool if they themed the buildings with other IPs beside just Mary Poppins. Should do one as Beauty and the Beast. Maybe do a princess per building. Either way it is nice. Watch out for Gators.
thank you so much for sharing your experience with us, christopher! this was actually our first time staying here at the grand, but we did tour the previous rooms and have stayed at other resorts at disney and i gotta say, this room definitely rivals the riviera and really impressed us! i didn't realize how much of an update the grand needed. i'm still nervous about the lobby changes but also excited! the contemporary is so beautiful too, i still have to visit the new rooms there as well, but gotta say you really can't beat those firework views and 5 minute walk to magic kingdom! oh and a beauty and beast hotel room would be so magnificent! they did such a beautiful job creating the enchanted rose, i can only imagine how gorgeous a room would be!
Maria thanks for a fun Vlog. You asked would I stay there probably not to clean looking , I would feel like I would get things to dirty. I think that it would be to expensive too. How did Chris and Ashlyn like it.?? Maria you also asked what part of the Mary Poppins movie did I like on the arigenal movie with Julie Andrews and Dick Vandike the best part was when Mary Poppins arrived with the unbella and Dick Vandike Singing on the roof and dancing. Also the park seen where they looked at the street art on the sidewalks .

The remodel is beautiful. We stayed there Monday and Tuesday night and loved it! Disappointed in the typical dvc kitchenette tho.

I love the original lobby with it's muted color pallette & understated striped wallpaper. The changes to the decore (and to the parks, for that matter) make me wonder if the Disney Board of Directors is un-theming it's resorts in preparation for selling all or part of the Florida property.

Hi 👋🏼 Maria, it's funny because my middle name is Maria and I have 2 first names Dana Danielle, but friends and some family calls me Dee. I loved the video, but unfortunately I've never been to the Grand Floridian Hotel, would love to go and live there to, sale my house 🏠 to, and I'm not an DVC member, I've heard wonderful things about being DVC member and I'm trying to fond out how to become a DVC member. I'm a big Disney fan like you and Chris, and it's been a while since I've seen the original Mary Popins, BUT MY FAVORITE PART IS WHEN HER AND THE CHILD WAS SINGING SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS] SONG,AND WHEN FLEW IN ON HER UMBRELLA.

Great Job as always Maria and Ashlyn. I agree. I don’t think the changes make that much of an aesthetic difference. I’m a Wilderness Lodge - Polynesian type anyway as far as the Deluxe Resorts. Grand not my vibe.
This hotel definitely isn’t everyone’s favorite, but it is the flagship resort for Walt Disney World! Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge are both so unique and beautiful too!

What are your favorite resorts at Disney?
I like the Mary Poppins wallpaper, elevated beds & bathroom updates. I hate the hallway/lobby carpet & wallpaper. Also, the idea of leaning my head against an upholstered headboard (that cannot be easily sanitized), after umpteen other heads have previously leaned against it, is not at all appealing.

The Grand Floridian doesn't need to be remodeled because of its beautiful Victorian style Bob Chapek as the CEO the Walt Disney Company is crazy with power but doesn't use any sense at all

@@LBVTVLive I used to be an annual passholder at Walt Disney World but when my pass started becoming $350 I gave up my annual pass to Walt Disney World I told my father I can see the day when an annual pass will be $700 or over the that amount
Don't like the room for the Grand Floridian. Name should be changed to the Floridian because it's not GRAND anymore. Might as well do away with the VicVictorian. While they're at it because it's no longer victorian.
