“Is that hair gel?” Is why this movie made like $400 million at the box office lol
I had the biggest crush on Markie Post(Mary's Mom) back in the late 80s when she was on Night Court. RIP Markie
So did Bill Clinton🤫🤫🤫
Ted didn't do anything bad or out there. He just hired a guy to find someone for him. He didn't tell the guy to stalk her or spy on her, he just wanted to know how Mary was. Then even wanted to catch up and help her when he thought she was completely degraded and changed, he still wanted to be a good friend to her.
Keith David is in this flick for like 10 minutes and is the absolute best part 🤣🤣🙌🙌
Keith David makes everything better! "How'd you get the beans above the frank!!!" 🤣🤣🤣
he was best part of Men at Work
"How'd you get the beans above the frank?" is something my friends and I have said for years.
@@EvilBonsaihim and Dean Cameron in that movie were hilarious
Gotta be on your toes if the your dating's dad is the Arbiter from Halo.
Funny misdirection with casting: Lee Evans who plays Tucker/Norm is actually English so when he's pretending to be Tucker, he is actually using his actual accent and is putting on an American accent when he is Norm.
He tried to break into movies in the mid-90's, another movie he was in was Fifth Element.
@@krashd And mouse hunt
Not quite his natural accent, it's tweaked to sound upper class/posh, he doesn't talk that way in real life.
I love the end, when Ted says goodbye to Warren and touches near his ears and Warren doesn't freak and just says goodbye to Ted also. To me that's when Mary realized who she truly loved/wanted to be with. While this is more or less a "gross out comedy" style movie, with some real creepy dudes and really out there scenes, that one little touch at the end sealed the deal as one of my favorite movies of all time. And as you pointed out Mary, Warren remembering Ted's name is another clue for the movie to lead to the end. I mean obviously Ben Stiller's character is the "main" character next to Mary so it is pretty obvious they'd end up together, but it still works so well.
Glad I'm not the only one who.. Kind of zones in on that.. It's just so quick and subtle you don't really think about it. But just that little moment has always stayed with me
RIP to Markie Post from the old Night Court TV show. ☹ She played Marry's mom in this film.
“I was only bonin you to get to Mary”😂😂😂
I saw this in the theaters, the hair gel scene pretty much got the biggest laughter and response from anytime since I've seen anything anywhere in the movies. Its was one of those moments that caused a re-alignment on what you can do with comedy back then.
9:15 "Hook up" didn't always mean _hook up._
Yes hook up in America has a different meaning, no one in Australia would ever say let’s hook up only meaning catch up or hang out it just wouldn’t be used that way
@@michaeldudgeon It's more of a product of the times. Hook up, ala hook up culture, didn't really become a thing until later. Before that it pretty much meant more to meet up at a place.
@@michaeldudgeon i can't wait to go to austraila and ask girls if they wanna hook up later and then blame it on being american LOL. things i'll never do cause i'm too timid.
It used to mean meet. Now it means meet to f. Cause why else would you meet up with anyone?
@@MatthewFutrell I mean, i still hear people using it as a get-together
Your reaction to “that” scene with him unloading his gun was priceless.

"Hook up" didn't start meaning sex until romance died somewhere in the 2010's.
very true. I didn't catch the change over for a few years so I was "hooking up" with everybody. lol
No, "hook up" was a late 90's teen term. First time I remember seeing it in a movie was Jessica Alba saying it in 1999's Never Been Kissed,
@@alexh8613 Was not.
@@redrick8900 Was not what. "The term hookup first appeared in a 1993 New York Times article, titled “On Language: Stud Muffin's Buzz-Kill'".
"Hooking up" was a term known in the year 2000 to almost every American child over the age of nine, but to only a relatively small percentage of their parents, who, even if they heard it, thought it was being used in the old sense of "meeting" someone. - New York Times

The summer after this came out I was on the Beast roller coaster and it stopped right on top of the last hill. The staff did it for effect as it was the last ride of the night and it was dead silent. The whole train erupted after some guy in the back yelled “Franks and beans!” God it was funny. Perfect timing.
Nothing better than the Beast at night. Rode it one humid night and when we broke thru to the slow part in the middle, fog has settled in and all we could see were the tree tops. Greatest coaster.
Woogie's wife is the real keeper.
0.1%er right there
I almost peed my pants laughing watching Mrs Mary react to the dog scene.
To be fair, Ted left quite the impression... lol. "Franks and beans!!!!" being in reference to the "incident" always cracks me up. Great reaction!
I've just realised that Dumb and Dumber could have had the same title, with both Harry and Lloyd chasing Mary Swanson. Only took me 25 years...
Both movies were the most popular Farrelly brothers movies.
Surprised they didn't call it "Me, Myself, and Mary".
@@smon4164 why? Why would they have 2 of their movies be that similar in their titles??

Kingpin is my favorite Ferrelly Brothers movie. ;)
The production staff also did Kingpins, an absolute must see with Bill Murray at his smarmiest!
I choked on my water and nearly died when you said : Awh her dad….ope nope not her dad 😂💀
I remember watching this movie in a PACKED theater when it came out. The laughter was contagious! Have you ever laughed so hard that you thought you might faint from not being able to breathe in? That happened to me numerous times during this movie. By the way, Matt Dillon plays the same scuzzy detective character in another movie from the same year, "Wild Things", with Neve Campbell, Denise Richards and Kevin Bacon.
The big star that showed up Brett Favre he was one of the top quarterbacks in the nfl. He played for the Green Bay Packers (which is where his Fame mostly came from) and he also played for the New York Jets and the Minnesota Vikings
You should change your channel name to Something About Mary Cherry 😂 Thanks for always making me laugh!
I like it!
The way Mary Cherry said "Bret F...A...V...re" was perfect.
Fun fact: Harland Williams (the hitchhiker) ad-libbed that whole thing

Your reaction was priceless. The mousse, the dog, the reveals, and the ending was on point. This was one of your best reactions yet.
This movie is comedic gold from start to finish. Watching Mary react is just a bonus. Brett Favre was an actual football player (quarterback) in the NFL. He now spends his time embezzling funds from the US Government. RIP Markie Post
First off, he wasn't embezzling funds - how dare you! Favre used misappropriated state funds meant for disadvantaged Mississippi families (the poorest state by GDP and per capita in the US) to build a new gym at his Alma Mater and dedicated to him (even though he donated nothing of his own), and there's pretty damning evidence he knew about the financial misdealing beforehand.
Never meet your heroes.
Can’t believe Markie Post will have been gone 3yrs this summer. It’s a shame she didn’t get a cameo in “The Fall Guy (2024)” along with Lee Majors and Heather Thomas which is amazing they didn’t help with ticket sales. Weren’t enough member berries I suppose. This movie of Ben Stiller’s could be considered a male nightmare. Schadenfreude dialed to 11.
No it isn’t, this movie wasn’t that funny. It’s massively overrated, I only chuckled a few times throughout it
@@airborngrmp1 Didn't he also send pictures of his frank & beans to some sports reporter?
Great reaction, happy you enjoyed it. My favorite scene has to be that cop bouncing Ben's head off the table in the interrogation room lol. Same plot there as in "My Cousin Vinny" (which I believe you have seen or should). Side note: Norm is actually a British actor who uses a fake American accent when he is the pizza delivery guy, and I have a feeling you have many suitors that resemble the four in Mary's apartment at the end lol.
Your pronunciation of “Farrelly” is perhaps the funniest thing about this reaction. 😄 You made them sound like a couple of gangsters.
I like the confusion about "hook up" and then later talk about getting hooked!
Wow! I haven’t laughed this much to a reaction in a LONG time. You were on absolute fire here and I really love this movie! Good job! 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
The guy who sings the theme song is Jonathan Richman who was the singer for the 70s band Modern Lovers. They only had 1 album, but its pretty good.
@adamdarmstaedter1256, A lot more than one album and a pretty influential artist.
Another amazing reaction Mary ❤❤😁😁.
Brett Favre (pronounced "Farv" for some reason) most famously played quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, which was a pretty good team at the time. And if I'm not mistaken, they had won the most recent Super Bowl prior to this movie's release. The San Francisco 49ers (Niners for short) was Mary's team. They were also a really good team at the time and rivaled the Packers.
The step dad has been in so many movies, one being platoon, i met him when i stopped to visit a friend who was the sound technician for a movie in Louisiana. Great guy.
That was a fun reaction Mary.
I saw this in the theater and I couldn't finish my popcorn because of all my laughing.
The hair gel scene, along with your reaction to it are classic!
Glad you enjoyed this movie, keep up the great reactions and many blessings to you and yours.
Ty for the dono glad you enjoyed :))
Her face at the hair gel scene...🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
By the way, you're saying "Farrelly" very Italian like. It's pronounced more like "fair-eh-lee".
Also, Brett Favre was a very popular American football player at the time, and the joke was that his name was spelled different than it's pronounced, but thanks to the subtitles, you totally got it not even knowing that.
Having seen this movie in the cinema, ages ago, was a lot of fun; but Mary's reaction was so much fun - she added tons of value
"You haven't been there in months, and you still have a pocketful of Nepalese coins???"
- can't believe that never occurred to me
One of the top comedies ever made. Animal House still reigns as the GOAT.
I saw this comedy in the theater. It was a great experience. Great reaction! 👍🏿
I freaking love this movie even though a lot of the jokes went over my head when I first saw this as a kid. The humor still holds up and I'm so glad you wound up enjoying this.

This one hit a little different, but not in a bad way.
This film was hilarious when it came out, still holds up.
Her reaction to the hair gel scene 😂
What an AWESOME reaction. I almost passed out laughing when they were in the car and the guy pitching his "7 minute abs" (actor Harland Williams) and he started twitching his head. Mary said "HE'S GLITCHING!". I couldn't stop laughing. I instantly knew he was the same guy who played the cop in Dumb and Dumber. When he as the cop pulls Harry and Lloyd over drinks from the bottle they have inside, he does the same "glitching"! Must be part of that actor's "thing". Of course, I probably would too know what was in it. Loved your response Mary. Also, I live about 15 minutes from Green Bay and I got mary'd (couldn't resist) around the time when the Packers won the super bowl in late 90's. Football is HUGE around here and we about fell over when we saw our quarterback in the movie at the end. The packers are so loved here that some of the guys went "missing" during my wedding reception. Where were they? In the next room watching the football game. Priorities.
Lee Evans (Tucker) is a comic genius!
1 of the funniest films EVER!
90s-2000s comedy is where it's at!
Yes. Firing one off before a major date is 100% a thing
lol it’s crazy how that’s a universal thing but no man has ever been taught that or shown(thankfully 😂) for the most part but yet we all have done it instinctively..
Mary's reaction to the Puffer OD scene had me rolling

It's a surprisingly sweet film
This movie is Nuts!
Entourage is awesome!
she said "oh no. he is american" XD same gurl same hahaha
I could not stop laughing to the your reaction to the dog scene
I think it is great that you're focused on career and other things you want to do in life. When my daughter told me she wanted to get married in her second year in college, I had a serious anxiety attack. I wanted her to get a degree first because relationships are so unpredictable and I didn't want her to have regrets in life.
Thankfully, she proved me wrong and is currently working on a doctorate while also managing a family - but I still stand by my original concern. Most other people would not have the resolve to be married, raise kids and still pursue an advanced degree. Pursuing your goals in life should be your first priority and when you're in a good spot in life and there's no need for you to "settle", that's when you can pause and think about relationships.
Great reaction Mary! Oh you can never fuck up! Perfect as always LOL! Matt Dillon rocks in this... such a great movie! Gets the silliness level just right without overstepping, and remains just funny as hell!
Good movie love the video Mary stay motivated dream big 1 mill on the way
2:26 - "It's so rare to meet a Mary."
Less than 3 minutes into the vid and there have already been too many mentions of having the same name.
I guess it must be different down under, but the Social Security Administration lists Mary as the 7th most common female name in the U.S. for women currently alive, with more than 2 million women having that name.
just btw the 'them again' is Jonathan Ritchman of the Modern Lovers, one of the most influential bands of the 70s
You should definitely check out Mary's favorite movie, "Harold and Maude." It's hilarious.
Interesting, maybe!!
@@MaryCherryOfficialHarold and Maude is a cult classic. It’s a love story that is quirky as all get out. The truth is that it’s one of my very favorite movies and has been for many years. Cat Stevens does the music, which is wonderful.
@@MaryCherryOfficialyou will love it. Amazing and very unique movie.
Here’s a fun fact: the part where Ted is being wheeled to the ambulance truck and the stretcher falls with him on it was not supposed to happen.
Actually where I live in the US up until 20 years ago it went against our laws on sodomy to be gay. That’s why gays had specific parks and places to hook up.
