About:
Jason and Lorraine. In 2016 we sold most of our belongings and left the city in southern California to start a small homestead in the mountains of North Carolina. We left the city in search for a more minimal and intentional life. We became passionate about growing our own food and knowing what exactly is in our food after I (Jason) became diagnosed with cancer. Now 8 years in remission we as a family are on a journey to live our passions.
We document our life on UA-cam videos to inspire others to get out of their comfort zone and not be afraid of change. We started our own online general store where we have available the things we make and use in real life. Thank you for following us on this incredible life changing journey!

The last shot of the pigs sleeping...PRICELESS!!!🤣♥️👍🌺🐝☀️♥️
I agree! ☺️
That would be a good picture on a tee shirt. Lol
@@willie6185 I totally agree, call it "Ham Dreams" or "Double Bacon with a smile"
Pigness!
@ Debra Bjornsen
KINDA (REMINDS YOU) OF HOW U'VE
WOKEN UP A FEW "TIMES" Huh.....
Snickering Here .......
That LAST photo of the pigs sleeping - that was sooooooo your money shot! I also loved seeing them frolic (if pigs can indeed frolic) in the sprinkler! Oh my gosh! So cute!
Awwwe 🤗🤗🤗 that happy pig dance at 10:40, and then at 10:55 ... priceless 🐖🐷🐽 , so beautiful 👍👍👍👍
I appreciate how kind you are to your animals. I don't care for a lot of these homestead shows because I don't appreciate how they treat their animals. You seem to care about your animals even though you are going to eat them and that is a good thing.
Diane Veilleux I agree. The pigs are lovely, deserving of the utmost respect.
I literally LOL at that last parting shot. You have the happiest pigs I've ever seen!
That last shot of the Bacon Brothers! Lol
I mean 10:55 can we talk about how precious they are? Makes your heart warm, for sure!
I almost peed my pants on that last picture of the pigs. Now that was funny.
So cute to see them playing ! They deserve all the happiness, they worked hard in that area !!
watching you slip onto your backside was enjoyable, but too many times it's been me taking the slip and others laughing. keep up the good work, you're learning and it shows.
love how you say excuse me to the bacon brothers..you are so polite..happy to see how they are doing a beneficial job on the land..you are better planners than you know..everything is falling into place ..God is blessing you all.

I love these brothers, so gentle. They love you.
You’re a certified farmer now Jason. Watching your progression has been inspiring.
Jason only you would say "excuse me" to a pig....I love watching you guys
Pigs are very intelligent, smarter than dogs. I love how the one brother was jumping and going in circles.
Move the shelter on top of that brush you want gone. They have no choice but to tear it up.
The pigs playing at the end of the video making it easy seeing how some people keep them as pets. Thanks
Great footage of the piggies! I had to screenshot the last pic of them sleeping. So adorable!
Sow the land is one of the few channels in North Carolina that smiles about the bountiful rain.I love your positive attitude towards life.
You have the sweetest, handsomest, and gentlest pigs of all of the homesteaders in my opinion and they are huge! You take good care of them and it shows.
Love the brothers!!! They have very soulful eyes, and yes they are clean animals. What a great area for growing pumpkins. Add some peat moss to help loosen the clay. Thanks for sharing!
Bacon Brothers is a great name. They have worked and played so hard and have turned a problem into a solution.. I’m glad to hear Lorraine is turning that area into a pumpkin patch.
The pigs certainly love their showers! Great job Penelope. Glad you have become comfortable with the pigs on pasture, Lorraine. Take Care. God Bless
Holy moly! Those lovely behemoths are just 6 months old? Wowwwwww!! lol
I never cared much for pigs, but after watching your videos and Hollar Homestead's videos, I've grown to have quite a lot of respect and appreciation for these creatures.
I never knew pigs loved the water, sprinkler, rain so much! Adorable!
So funny how they are laying at the end, I laughed out loud!!
I love it that you say “excuse me” to your pigs!
AWESOME VIDEO!!!!! We were laughing so hard at the pigs!!!!! My great grand daughters had such a great time rewatching the video and laughing. Thank you for sharing your wonderful filled life on the farm. Love and Blessings from south Texas.
I know you're going to eat them, but the Brothers are adorable and they're really sweet animals. Thank you for being kind to them.
Oh yeah! Water is crazy fun, when you are a pig. LOL I hope you all get more accustomed to pigs and raise more in the future. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Stay safe.
Love these pigs, they are so cute and hard workers. I don't always comment but I do always watch, take care you all
Ha ha ha ha ha the way the bacon brothers were sleeping, oh that was hilarious!
Awesome a pumpkin patch, love pumpkins and what a perfect spot. Thanks for the update on pigs, wishing you all the best
I now understand why people have pigs for pets, they're hilarious! Playing in the sprinkler and hose, sleeping together. And as a bonus they're super hard workers! Who knew?!?! 😂👍💞
My daughter in law got a pot belley pig. He got HUGE! He scared me, when he charged at me one time. I respected his space after that.
Omgosh them at the end bouncing around and loving that hose shower..
They are so entertaining....😁😆😆
Have a wonderful evening 🌻🌻🌻
I burst out laughing at those CRAZY BROTHERS! Playing in the sprinkler and snoozing CHEEK TO CHEEK! What a riot!
I was cracking up with the photo where the pigs are sleeping..one with his head between the other ones back legs...so cute !!!
Jason, love the nickname, "Bacon Brothers!" LOL!
That's some happy pigs! peace and love, y'all
Amazing what you are doing on 1-1/2 acres! Truly shows land management works for small spaces. 💕
The sleeping shot was too funny at the end. Happy pigs they are.
It seems like we have been waiting forever for a new vid. Good job brothers! Thanks so much.
Hi.... Jason the pig are looking good and healthy, thank you for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐥🐖🌱🎥👍👍👍
You guys just make me smile. I love your friendly pigs. They really tilled that garden spot well for you. 🐷😺💖
Oh how precious. Lovely video. God bless y’all.
Too cute! Now you need tee shirts made up with pigs called “the brothers”
that pig looked so excited! with some sprinkle of water. What an amazing sight.
There is nothing like slippery mud to keep us humble! Good form though, I say a "7". :) Cute pigs and boy are they growing!
Brilliant - they are LOVING their freedom there!!
They are the happiest pigs I have ever seen!! Bucking like a bronco, wonderful to see. Thank you for sharing.
Man! That's an education!
After the Bacon Brothers take a trip to the freezer, you could get the Sausage Sisters or the Ham Homebois
Chop Champs. Sausage Siblings, Pork n Fork. Hungry Hams. Pork Parade.
Those are the best mannered pigs I've ever seen. I think you have those two brothers in happyville!😁❤🌻🐖🐖
Loved the last picture of the pigs
That last picture of the pigs sleeping cracked me up :-D lol
I have never warmed to pigs but your brothers are super cute and have such great natures. Love them! Well done piggies! 👍🐖🐖
I liked to keep a digging bar out by my pigs. I knew where to find my bar if I needed it, it would be wherever I had the pigs.. I would make a hole with the bar and pour some peanut pieces or peas down the hole. We avoided corn. The pigs would do whatever it takes to get to those peanuts. They would dig out stumps, rocks or just make a nice hold.
I called this feeding my pigs with a crow bar.
Oops, sorry love your interaction with the brothers!
This is by far my favorite UA-cam channel right now! I love your family, your homestead your videos and I hope all your dreams come true! Big fan here!
Think you better order your next pigs from the same source now. These pigs are by far the best, calmest pigs I have seen with homesteaders this year. They have been superior all the way through.
The last pic on this video is PRICELESS!!!
They are so smart. They know food, food, and more food. Great job with the weed bushes. Will be interesting to see how the pumpkin patch works out.
Those pigs are so funny!!😂😂😂 I love how hard they work!!!👆👆❤❤❤❤❤
LOVE how you talk to "the brothers" that just put a huge smile on my face!! yep, its time to move them to clear more land
That was hilarious. Brothers are the happy and lucky pigs.
I have never seen pigs jump for Joy. that was great.
👍👍👍. You see a pumpkin patch but I see a HOG HEAVEN. They are loving you and to think you were somewhat timid of them in the beginning. Going to be hard to say good bye but giving thanks to them when you have your meal is the greatest gift you can give them. So glad you’ve shared this amazing journey as your farm has grown. You’re no longer Californians but honest farmers living the life.....a great life. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Best shot ever of them sleeping at the end. Yes, that honeysuckle will come back if you don't dig it up, those rocks will increase the labor but now is the best chance of getting rid of it! BTW, you will need it gone before the pumpkins go in!
Those are some happy sloppy wallowing pigs. They are so sweet and getting so big omg.
I hope you have another "till job" ready for the brothers. They so love to be out on the grass... think of how much more nutritious their meat will be!
Your pigs are talking to you. They greet you and they ask for food and for scratches. You are their friend and they enjoy your company however more scratching is needed. They are truly asking you to do it. My Berkshire wasn't quite as friendly but he was older when we got him. He was not neutered. Pigs are very smart and usually friendly like dogs. Treat them that way and they will do as you ask. You needn't fear them as long as you treat them well.
Pigs are fantastic!! The brothers are absolutely beautiful!!
Jason be careful those Pigs 🐷 have been busy 🤣unbelievable they way they’ve plowed up that ground 🐷😂
Wonderful video. Love the last shot of them sleeping together.
When you move The Bacon Brothers use some of the Wood Chips in their covered pen to 1. Help the Garden and 2. Clean out some of the Covered Pen. You had lots of Wood Chips in that area so taking some out will reduce the height of the inside of pen. God Bless and Peace Be With You All ☮️🙏❣️
RESPECT from Romania 🐐🐃🐂🐕
Had me a good chuckle at the end there with the way the pigs were sleeping. Very cute how pigs play, kind of like dogs. Too bad they will bacon one day.
You had better reserve pigs for next year, homesteaders are raising so many pigs this year that some people can't get them, farmers are out. You folks are doing a good job with everything. Love you guys and the lessons you teach with everything you do.
That is very happy bacon that you are growing. Priceless.
It is amazing how much work a couple of pigs will do to the land and soil. Congrats to the Bacon Brothers!!!! That will be a GREAT Pumpkin Patch...Cheers from Maine
Your pigs are so funny. And for pigs, they have very good manners. When these guys are in your freezer, I recommend you get your next pigs from the same farmer you got the Bacon Brothers. :-)
That last shot of them sleeping
is hilarious. The joy of the sprinkler is like kids in the summer when its hot.
Looks like wheat straw that sprouted. Straw and hay always have seed in it. You can use a broad fork/shovel/pitchfork to dig up those vines.
Your homestead has really grown this year, so productive. It looks great and you will be having more food. Great work!
Very cool video. The last pic of the pigs laying head to toe! OMG! Too cute!
Love watching your homestead grow.
Your pigs have a great personality. So entertaining
I'm in zone 6a, college student, trying my best to start growing food. Got two raised beds and a handful of seeds. I am on UA-cam, and I am pleasantly surprised that my garden is not a total fail this first year.
Ohh that ending was perfect hahaha!
Gives new meaning to Pork Butts!!
Nice to have a rerun. I LOVE these guys and YOUR CALIFORNIA DOES TOO. Hay BACON BROTHERS. I LOVED WATCHING YOUR FAM. I LAUGHED RIGHT WITH THEM
I HOPE YOU BRING THAT VLOG OUT SOON. THATS SO CUTE THE ENDING. YOU SHOULD SELL THAT PICTURE. I WILL BUY
Pig swaller. They in heaven.
10:54 -- cuteness overload! Thank you for sharing the process of pumpkin patch preparation! Mud slipping and sliding is real. God Bless.
Your pigs did a fabulous job in your yard! And They are so cute! Much❤Love & 🙏🏻😇🙏🏻God Bless🤗 Ya'll 😘👍🏻😁😁😁😁
I just have to say, my 3-year-old daughter loves watching you guys!! She calls your channel "chickens" haha
They are so funny, and cute Bacon Bros. Amazing job.
The Bacon Brothers are getting friendly.
Best video at the end playing. And the way they are sleeping toooooo funny. Keep up the great work.
Look at that new garden area. Get to planting, Lorraine!
Your pigs look so happy! If they till up your soil and grass on the hill, it would be easier to move it into a terrace step for later planting or a flat grassy spot for chicken tractors.
