Another great video. I learned so much from watching your videos. Today was my first time in salt water with a kayak. Moved to Virginia from Pennsylvania. Fished the rudee inlet and got 4 spotted trout. Could not have done it without your informative videos. Thanks so much. I'm hooked
I've been on so many other channels, followed so many other anglers and every time i am left with a sense of disgust, until now. Jesse, you are the type of role model that people should be following in the fishing industry. Concerned with conserving the resources but not so much that you get lost in the endless issues, clean enough that i can watch with my kids present and not have to worry about volume and vulgarity, good content that doesn't have some attempt at high end cinematic shots, a fantastic mix of fishing, tips and tricks and how tos. How are you not more popular?!?! Regardless count me in buddy! And if you are ever in the Shenandoah Valley and looking to do some fly fishing, hit me up!
I have a 17 ft boat and was considering moving down to a kayak after watching your earlier videosthen you went and got a boat and I totally see pros and cons nowAwsome channel keep up the great workhope to meet you on the water some day
Excellent job and video bro! Moving to east coast of Florida in December, Titusville, and definitely saving my $$ for a sidescope. Always enjoy your channel. Thx for the entertainment and valuable info!! Been subscribed for quite a while.
@@SouthernReelsFishing I'm going out Saturday morning. Hoping to get on some big reds.. Love all of your videos Bro. Keep up the good work and GOD Bless
Awesome work Jessie !! That was unbelievable you got that pig from around the piland, just to get it hung up on your drive, way to put the work in though. I hope to get on em this year if I slow down at work, I still haven't been back out after em since last summer
@@SouthernReelsFishing Thanks for releasing awesome videos. I've learned quite a bit from ya this past year or so.I'll catch ya out there one day, until then tight lines
Jesse, another great video. Do you ever fish near the Maryland line (Tangier Island, Pocomoke Sound area)? If so, what are your thoughts as to the quality of fishing there? I live about an hour north of the state line, and am considering a trip there.
Could you do a video on using boat to fish the pile ons without a trolling motor.. i was thinking of using finders to protect my boat but not sure that would work.
Great fish Jesse! I have a stringer to hang bass and whatnot over the side of my kayak. What do you use to hold larger fish like sheepshead to take them home?
I definitely encourage c&r on these large ones locally. They are the Breeders and aren't that great eating anyway. I prefer the 16 to 20 inchers for eating
Sheepshead are fun to catch because they put up a great fight. But here we mainly go after and keep redfish, trout and flounder. Sheepshead love dead shrimp that's what we use to catch them. Some days we can catch alot of sheepshead. My biggest I ever caught was I believe 9lbs. Years back.🙂
I'm from Louisiana and I've caught many of sheepshead through out my life. They are very good eating but are a pain in the ass to clean. My cuz boils them in a sack. Like boiling crawfish. With alot of seasoning. And the skin and bones you can peel right off. And your left with pure meat. He said it's great! You all should try doing that. The big ones are the best to boil.🙂
Hi SouthernReels I've been watching as a subscriber for a while and I am visiting my mom who lives in kiptopeke for my birthday around July 12th. If your gonna be fishing the ditch or Eastern shore area I would love to link up. I also have a boat but its nothing special

Thanks, and the livescope is nice but you can get these fish without it. I caught just as many last year year without it.
Great stuff Jesse. It was good meeting you the other day, keep it up
Thanks good meeting you as well
Good stuff, im trying to get out there this weekend if the weather holds out.

Nice work man! Can’t wait to get out there, hopefully a couple times next week.
Go get em man!
Are you still able to see your bait drop down towards the fish like in fresh water?
Jesse where did you park your car to launch? I only see residential parking

NO I have never been that far north. Not sure what to say about the fishing there.
Could you do a video on using boat to fish the pile ons without a trolling motor.. i was thinking of using finders to protect my boat but not sure that would work.
I'm still working on a safe method for that, not wanting to rub the pilings but its bound to happen at some point.
Slammin em son! Headin down to OBX for two weeks this sunday. Hope to catch something down by the ocracoke ferry slip
You should be able to get on some action there
Great fish Jesse! I have a stringer to hang bass and whatnot over the side of my kayak. What do you use to hold larger fish like sheepshead to take them home?
I have an insulated fish bag that sits behind my seat. I did a video on it a while back
@@SouthernReelsFishing Thanks!
Awesome!!! Im visiting my daughter next week were going to fish the Chesapeake Bay 😁👍
Good luck!
Can’t wait for the sheep’s to come back into the bay, I see guys work the pylons with boats, wonder how hard it is?
Awesome video, Jessie!!👍
Thanks!
How shallow can you find the sheepshead?
I swear, if I didn't see your face, I would think Mathew Mcconaughey was catching sheepshead, LoL.
Lol, I take that as a compliment. I've been called Boomhauer before as well
@@SouthernReelsFishing Alright, Alright, Alright, lol. No, it's a compliment, 😂.
I've had one I swear was 3ft on 40 lbs mono..he kept on rolling right at the top I could see em.
Could have been a Black Drum. Very similar looking and easily reaches 4ft
So good to see someone else not keeping every sheephead they catch. I wish these boys down here in Pensacola would try some catch n release on them.
I definitely encourage c&r on these large ones locally. They are the Breeders and aren't that great eating anyway. I prefer the 16 to 20 inchers for eating
Can you make a video of what speckled trout look like with the Livescope?
I can try bit it will be later in the year.
Awesome video! What kind of rod are you using?
Sweet!! I'm headed down on the 12th glad the sheep are there
They are not really thick yet but they are out there
Awesome video buddy. I may have missed it but what rods you using?
Where do you get your crabs from?
We catch then in the Elizabeth River Marshes at low tide
Man those are nice sheepies. Nice work bro
Thanks
Great video I’m heading to nc to get on some fish keep the videos coming
Good luck!

Yeah I love all those you mentioned. Basically what I mainly fish for. I wish we had better redfish action here
Using it in saltwater - what kind of measures do you take when cleaning after trip?
None really. Other than when I rinse the kayak off when I get home
Can’t wait for the sheep’s to come back into the bay
Heck yea bro !! I really want to make my way down there !!
Come on down my friend!
What rod and reel are you using?
What kind of rub rail is this on your boat?
Water hose and duct tape

Yeah they really stink when you clean them too lol
What kind of rod are you using?

Thanks for watching and not sure whats going on that far out but we can try to link up
They look long and slender because they swim around the pilons sideways
Very good point!
Wow, that last one probably tore up a bunch of your line after 2 snags...
What is your rod and reel setup?
I have a couple different ones... I always use a Quantum Accurist ac101hpt reel though
Great video !!
THanks
Which size net is that?
The smaller that yak attack offers
No doubt that is some good fishing line
Yeah I was surprised. Power Pro 40 lb test braid. 40 lb fluoro leader
Glad you threw big boy back😀
Always, release over 20"
thats a great day of sheephead fishing
It was fun for sure!
Goliath is right. Wow they get big in the Chesapeak bay! Tim
Yes they do my friend!
Sheephead love crawfish
Interesting, may have to try that
The weakest Hooksett i seen
