What sort of apps are you after? I'll use Grayjay more for the moment because Tubular is broken for now and it works better in landscape/tablets than it used to!
It's a great app, but currently broken, for me at least! Fortunately we have options, like Grayjay and hey, these things happen when Google has an active interest in trying to block these apps from working.
When I released my EPs through DistroKid I was able to set my channel to be an official artist channel... Can't remember the exact process I'm afraid as it was ages ago, but yeah... I should probably remove it depending on how much music is going to be a part of the channel going forward...
Hopefully you'll put the phone closer to the camera next time. I have squint really hard to see what are you trying to showcase. (And yes of course I'm watching this in mini-portrait mode and reading the comments). Timestamps would be great too.
Thanks for the feedback! Being the absolute dumbass that I am, I forgot that not everyone watches on a large screen... Definitely things I'll work on for next time!
Thanks for sharing your stuff. I refuse to use any app that takes all the rights from my phone. I'd like more reviewers to show the dangers of using such open apps. This is important if anyone is using their phone for gig work. People are using jammers to block our phones doing gig work. I use a really good VPN for my business that has blocked the bad ones out and allowed me to gain more work. Using open apps on a business phone is not a good idea. I stlll gave you thumbs up for there is useful info for those that use the phone for personal use
Sorry, I'm not sure I totally understand your comment... What about gig work means that you can't use open apps, and what gig work specifically are you talking about?
I've only got Debian on a crappy old 11" Lenovo laptop, so I don't really use it regularly I'm afraid! Most of what I do is music and video editing stuff on my laptop and I find the totally FOSS apps are seriously lacking. I couldn't get my old interface to work right either... I recently bought a new audio interface, so I'll do some tests and see what I can do!
As safe as any app can be! I've been fine using if for ages now. Everyone can see the source code, so if you're technically minded you can inspect the voice yourself and check for anything malicious. Like with any app, it has the possibility for bugs, but nothing deliberately harmful :)
I'll see what I can do! There's only so many app videos I can do :P If I'm going to make more, I want to make sure they're actually apps I've used regularly! Thanks for checking it out though!
Thanks! Links have been added to the description. For apps like Tubular and FUTO apps, you'll have to add their own respective repos to F-Droid: - IzzyOnDroid F-Droid Repo - FUTO F-Droid repo Hope this helps!
On a very quick, cursory check, the only app that does anything close that I can see is Eleven Reader, at least as a mobile app. It is free, but not open source, so you're paying for it with your data. They do share data with third parties so if it's sensitive or confidential documents, I wouldn't use this app.
Which is why I mostly use it on my tablet. On the phone it does come in handy for downloading music tracks though! I've got no problems watching YT videos on a small device. For some people, this is the only device they have, so it's nice to have the option!
@ That's fair enough, you do you! For me though, a tablet is perfect, I am not far-sighted; my near vision is fine, so I can get the same experience as a 50inch TV on my lap with a better, OLED screen. It also lets me watch whatever I want without disturbing the other people around me. That said, I had a quick look, and the supported open source alternatives to YT are seriously lacking or basically non-existent on Android TV devices, so yeah...
@alexwr I am not farsighted. I just do not find it relaxing to hold something in my hand or have something lying on my knees where I have to look at. It is much more relaxing to sit on my chair lean back and watch the video on my TV screen.
Don't worry, I wasn't suggesting that you were, it just works fine for me it all. I think I'd have to connect a PC up to a TV because I really hate TV interfaces and remotes. Also a desktop YT app would work amazingly on a huge screen!
Keeping going on bro , i want more open source app look like Grayjay
What sort of apps are you after?

@@alexwr more apps :)
@@alexwrWhy not revanced extended
Thanks for including my app 😃
Which one is yours ?
Which one is yours? :)
@@alexwr Droid-ify 😄
@@Iamlooker ah, of course! I was just looking though all my installed apps trying to find your username.
@@alexwr hehe. Great work on curating such obsure apps, 🫡
Cool, Tubular looks like a game changer, especially after newpipe started lagging... -at least for me-
It's a great app, but currently broken, for me at least!

It hasn't been updated in months and is now way behind newpipe
Just recently got an update, so all us up and running again in Tubularland!
I subscribed to the channel to share top-level apps.
Brother, the font with the music logo in front of your channel is very weird, where will I get it?❤

Subscribed great video & apps 😊
Thanks for the support! Really appreciate it :)
top best apps, thanks I want more list of top level apps.
Very nice, what handset do you have? It’s good to see alternative Android coverage.
Still using my Mi Mix 3 from 2018!
@alexwr That's cool, are you using a custom ROM at this stage of its life.
@@sclint962 nah... I probably should tbh, but most f-droid apps work fine on Android 10, so no problems with app compatibility.
How did you find those apps? Did somebody recommend them to you, or you used some web site?
Mostly just browsing f-droid!
There is a website: alternativeto.com for finding open source options alternatives.
@@alexwr Great.
Newpipe Forks: Tubular, PipePipe

Could you find best PDF reading loud app and the voice need be natural and it need be free as well.
That's a tough set of things to find in a free app! I'll see if I can find one though!
Have you tried looking on alternativeto.net?

Grayjay is really heavy
Yeah, 300+MB is no joke, but that's what happens when you build an app for a host of different services and don't rely on Google's API.
It's not like I've got much on my phone anyway! I can spare 300MB....
Is Grayjay universal, safe app to install or it is harmful?
As safe as any app can be!
I have uninstall my default phone , message, calender, apps that comes from Google and replace with fossify apps 😂
They are just plain better than most of the competition!
need more
What other sorts of videos would you be interested in?
F droid crashed in my Android
Fraid I'm not great on tech support! What phone/Android version are you on?
Tubular? WTF. For what do you need an app to watch videos on such a tiny screen? It is just stupid to watch videos on a phone.
Which is why I mostly use it on my tablet. On the phone it does come in handy for downloading music tracks though!
I've got no problems watching YT videos on a small device. For some people, this is the only device they have, so it's nice to have the option!
@alexwr I rather lean back and watch videos on my TV. I do not like tablets because they are like micro tvs.
