- Swami Sarvapriyananda teaches Verses 67-69 from the second chapter of the Bhagavad Gita. This series of talks unfolds the highest truths of Vedanta through the study of "The song of God".
🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 2, Verse 67:
इन्द्रियाणां हि चरतां यन्मनोऽनुविधीयते |
तदस्य हरति प्रज्ञां वायुर्नावमिवाम्भसि || 67||
indriyāṇāṁ hi charatāṁ yan mano ’nuvidhīyate
tadasya harati prajñāṁ vāyur nāvam ivāmbhasi
🔴 The mind that conforms to the roving senses robs (one) of perception, just as the wind sweeps the boat off its course at sea.
🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 2, Verse 68:
तस्माद्यस्य महाबाहो निगृहीतानि सर्वश: |
इन्द्रियाणीन्द्रियार्थेभ्यस्तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता || 68||
tasmād yasya mahā-bāho nigṛihītāni sarvaśhaḥ
indriyāṇīndriyārthebhyas tasya prajñā pratiṣhṭhitā
🔴 Therefore, O hero! his wisdom is stable whose senses have been withdrawn on all sides from their (respective) objects.

या निशा सर्वभूतानां तस्यां जागर्ति संयमी |
यस्यां जाग्रति भूतानि सा निशा पश्यतो मुने: || 69||
yā niśhā sarva-bhūtānāṁ tasyāṁ jāgarti sanyamī
yasyāṁ jāgrati bhūtāni sā niśhā paśhyato muneḥ
🔴 The restrained ascetic (the sage) is awake in what is night for all living beings, while, when these latter are awake, it is night for the silent sage who perceives.

Isn't the desire to be enlightened a desire afterall? How can I eliminate all the desires but keep this desire itself within me?
He has addressed this in the older videos.
It's hard to explain but essentially the desire to help someone and the desire to have chocolate are not the same kind of desires.
Desire for God realisation is not a desire at all .
When Swami refers to sivananda , is he referring to the great proponent of Hatha Yoga? I did not know that he was a disciple of ramakrishna.
I wish someone could share a little bit more the role of Hatha Yoga within the vedantic practice

Swamiji , you and krishna both are sooooooo repititve, lectures get boring, but keep teaching. i love it ,just try to cover 3 verses per lecture....
