I had to return my Breville precision brew after it stopped working. I tried contacting Breville, but it seems that customer service isn't important to them. Instead, I purchased this machine and so far it's great. Let's see if this machine doesn't fail in 75 days.
I received mine today just got delivered. I thought it was broken I finally got it to work, or at least my daughter did. Now I can say with confidence the coffee is delicious.
Today I just purchased the Ninja Specialty Fold-Away Frother (CM401) Coffee Maker. I hadn't seen the Braun before I bought it but they appear to have all the same features, except the Ninja has the frother and the Braun has the hot water supply for tea. I'd love to see a comparison of the 2 makers to find out which one I should've bought!
I work from home for a company in Dubai so I drink alot of coffee since they are 6 hours ahead. I have the stainless version. I bought it at Bed Bath and Beyond with 40% off. It's a great machine. The temp is spot on every time which was my main gripe about my previous machine the Breville Grind Control. I'd prefer a steel carafe but the glass carafe works fine.I recently purchased the Braun Burr Grinder to go with it which i'm excited to try. I prefer using the gold tone filter rather than the paper filter. Buy this machine or the Breville Precision brewer
Good review but I would have liked to know 3 things. How much is a full pot and how long did it take to brew. And also it would have been nice to check out(if you can't control it) the temperature coming out the spray head during brewing.
2:44 You can adjust that on the screen for shutting down as long as five hours. Press and hold the "SET" button and the A-* will show up ("A" being auto shut off) The number after the "A" is the number of hours before auto off.
Thanks for an excellent review! Any idea if the warming plate will still work after using the hot water? IE: I make a pot of coffee, then my wife wants a tea. So she makes her tea then I put the carafe (with a few cups of coffee left in it) back on the hot plate?
My question is if you make a single cup and then an hour later my wife wants a cup do we have to change paper filter each time, that’s what a pod eliminates.
Im breaking my head for days between this and the Breville Precision. Which one would you take? About the Breville I'm worried about temperature and how long coffee last hot in the thermal carafe and how long the machine lasts.
The Ninjas have issues... the newer model leaks all over the place because of a bad gasket that Ninja wont fix and the older model has a sensor issue that will drive you out of your mind. It stops brewing and beeps 5 times and no matter what you do it doesn't help. A real failure on the Ninjas part. This has almost everything the Ninja has, except a frother.
Yes the Ninja coffee maker leaks water like crazy. One day it works and the next day your counter is full of water. You clean up the water it works for another month then randomly one day water again. Also the drip stop doesn't work and it just always makes a mess. Makes decent coffee but is a messy machine. My wife and I just ordered this one I hope it is better. Someone gave us a Hamilton Beach coffee maker as a gift awful awful coffee.
@@autohelix I've had the Braun for a couple weeks now... I think it's great. Good coffee, no issues (so far) We bought an extra frother that heats the milk, so life is good again.
This vid was helpful...she showed a different model than the one I found on Amazon...I like this one b.c u can get hot water...the price is fine b.c. it can keep me out of Dunkin' & Starbucks for good..
I would steer clear away from anything breville because I had a grinder from them and it broke within 6 months and trying to contact customer service was impossible so I will never get anything of there's again.
Mine looks great, because it’s brand new. Too bad I can’t have a cup....E19 code. Another side note. I can’t register it for the warranty. This model doesn’t show up, go figure.
After waiting for almost two months for mine to arrive, and following instructions (and youtube video instructions), my unit has some issues.. the amount setting gives me half, no matter the setting, If I want a full pot, I have to turn it off and start it again to fill the pot. (not great when you're running for work in the early am) Secondly, the automatic timer does not work on mine, it only wants to try and make the coffee immediately. (yes I've followed the instructions). The only other thing I would recommend the manufacturer do is make a way to silence the audible beeps... three loud beeps Im ready at 5 am when the rest of the house sleeps is not appreciated. It makes strong coffee, no question, but thats easily adjusted by user taste. It is tall enough you cannot operate it under wall cabinets without pulling it out each and every time... something I never had to do with in the last 20 years with other models Ive owned, so be aware of that if you buy. Can't say as I recommend this unit.. at this point for $230 wish I had just stuck with the keurig. 5/10
When using the single serve mode, do you need to put the exact amount of water in the reservoir or you can fill it completly and the machine will stop at the choosed amount ?
I bought the less expensive model with out the hot water function and temp function (Everything else is the same) on sale at bed bath & beyond for $159.00
Why is there a prop 65 cancer warning associated with this product? It doesn’t say what on it causes cancer and there is many other drip coffee makers that don’t have this warning
All these wonderful drip brewers and nada in Australia, except for cheapies....we have the choice of one or the other..... all made in the same factory.
I'm not a fan of coffee makers using size selections, preferring the ability to brew any amount from 1 cup to a full pot. I brew to fill a 24 ounce Contigo travel mug every morning, and these type coffee makers never have a 24 ounce setting.
Not that I know of...plastic is the best material for maintaining the consistency of temperature. Metal and ceramic both need more time/water to get up to temperature so, for example, if you are making a pour over coffee with a plastic V-60, it only takes a little bit of water to warm it up. It takes more for stainless steel and way more for ceramic. For this reason, it is unlikely that there is a machine that doesn't have some plastic in the filter basket area.
@@scalwi thanks for the reply...in my opinion it is better to avoid all plastic especially if you are a man and it matters not whether it is BPA free or not.
@@uroutw8041 I agree, I try to avoid plastic, especially around hot liquid. I have a Bonavita with a BPA free plastic brew basket, but I rarely use it. I mostly use a metal Kalita Wave or V60 for pour overs. If you are looking for an automatic drip brewer that avoids plastic, one place to look might be the automated pour over machines like the Chemex Ottomatic or using the Breville Precision Brewer with its pour over function (though those are both crazy expensive).
@@jd-py5nm Does Technivorm really not have their water/coffee come in contact with plastic during the brewing process? If so, that's awesome, and news to me...thanks for sharing!

This machine makes excellent coffee, much hotter and better than my Bonavita.

Does the temperature adjustment apply to coffee as well or just when making tea?
Anyone else counted the scoops?
I did, 9
It's a Braun, nein.

It's good for washing when you can remove the water tank. You are supposed to use filtered water instead of tap water.
This Braun coffee maker has a Altitude setting and an Water Hardness setting. What do these settings do to the water when brewing?

We "had" the Breville. There are two reasons to "had". 1) Very messy and time-consuming to clean. 2) It leaked
