I gave it a try, very exciting to see some PS3 games booting up on my M1 MBA! If nas (or the team) can build it for Native M1, that should be really quite performant. Looking forward to getting full controller support.
I don't think whether it's native or rosetta should make a big difference to performance. Rosetta recompiles the binary anyways. It's not emulation it litterally translates the whole binary to native arm. The performance is pretty close to optimal afaik.
My settings for Persona 5 and M1 Pro MacBook: CPU: - SPU Decoder - LLVM (ASMJIT adds stutters and audio crackles, breaks in-game videos) - Preferred SPU Threads - 3 (you may try 2, I don't recommend anything lower than 2 or higher than 3, you will get lower FPS) GPU: - Asynchronous Texture Streaming - On Everything else in default values. Also don't disable on-disk shader cache. This part of game in video is pretty light and I think you can get 60 FPS there with any fucked up settings. Use the first seconds of the game just after cutscene to get reference - I get ~48 FPS here, with settings from video or default settings I had 24-30FPS.

Thing is, if Apple ended up selling M1 chips like AMD and Intel sells their cpu's on the PC, Apple could do well out of it. Apple isn't likely going to do that because it likes closed platforms and because of that, it's highly unlikely to take on the PC and with that, software support is going to be limited. Still it might not matter because if we look at how things are going, Windows is now running Linux and Android apps, Linux is now running Windows and Android apps, if Apple can do the same for the M1 where performance doesn't tank, it could compete but I think Apple would do much better as a PC hardware player, there's a reason why the PC is so successful and that's because it's open for any company to push it forward, Apple with it's own platforms, if it gets one or two decisions wrong, it could cripple them and the platform, thats never an issue for the PC because if one company gets it wrong, others will be more then happy to take advantage of it, hence why the PC is by far the most successful platform we have and it's easy to see why with it being around since the early 80's
macOS sucks to develop for, so no, and also no one is buying $2000 laptops with phone hardware in them, and btw ur shiny M1 crapbook looks good now but in 3 years it'll be ewaste lol thanks to apple being anti-repair and zero upgradeable components

I'm running a Mac OS Monterey 12.7 on a mid 2015 MB Pro Quad Core Intel Core i7 Processor with 16gb Ram. I've tried practically everything I can to get my games running but it's just stuck on a Compiling PPU Modules black screen when I go to boot any game. Initially I thought this was just a compiling issue so I waited several hours (around 4) for the files to compile and boot with no success. Any suggestions on how to get my games to boot would be highly appreciated! Note, I'm running the PS2 emulator with no problems on my MB Pro so I'm assuming it has to do with the PS3 emulator settings or the OS incompatibility.

the origanal m1 chip runs decent, i tested it out and it worked pretty good at 30 fps for persona 5 however i think i myself got some audio stuttering idk why

yo bro I've tried it with a macbook m1 air it doesnt't work, the character models are all severely broken and movement does not function. It is not possible to get out of the starting location at Blackgate Prison, if you did get it working please get back to me I would love to play arkham origins.

For Ps2 I would suggest Aether. It works well with macbook air m1. Even the base model plays most games at 4k resolution hope this helps you.

VF5, VF5 final tuned.. VF2.. Daytona in 1080p on a macbook 14, 16 core at 60fps.. this is just.. wow. it´s real and it´s working :D amazing

I just tried a very demanding game (God of War III) with recommended settings on my Mac Studio M1 Ultra. Got 10-15 FPS ingame, nice.

Try to enable to Write Color Buffers option which is the most common way to fix missing textures/black models.

Both the epic games store and all of the tomb raider games have full macOS support. They are even available on the Mac App Store (the games)
