I just watched the Fabric Cafe book drop, and here you are! I love your version of that pattern!! The embroidered figures are a perfect zhuzh to the fabrics ’we’ chose! ❤
Kim, I think this might be my best one yet too. I'd like to redo it with better embroidery hooping on some of them and I'd like to make it larger. But the concept and color story is killer
I love all of the movement in this quilt! I rewatched the video where you purchased the fabrics, and this combo works so well...I also think the other option would have been just as nice instead of the brown--I would describe it as having a swoosh on it. Maybe keep that one in mind for the next one! FYI, when it comes to centering, the eye prefers the focal point to be a little higher than center. For some reason, things look lower, even when they are dead center. This is why, for example, you will see greeting cards have a focal image a little higher than center if floating on the page. I learned this in my art appreciation class. I truly love what you did here, MaC!
Your talent is out of this world!! I love this quilt and know several dancers who would love to have it. I will be sure to share this video with them even though they aren’t quilters ❤❤❤
Wow! Your ladies are gorgeous! Your embroidery is the perfect addition to this fabric. I also was a bit nervous about the brown and purple/pink but, that fabric pops. This is one of my favorites of your quilts. Thank you for sharing this video.
HOLY MOLY THAT IS ONE GORGEOUS QUILT. I love that you went with your quilty BFFs choice of the brown - that pink wiggly print on the brown fabric give so much motion to the quilt, its like the girls are sending out the movement vibs throughout the quilt. This is a feel good quilt. (is that a thing? I smile just looking at it.) Makes me wish I had an embroidery machine; but this lady knows her limitations. I have family and friend that have the professional embroidery machines - that is not my gift. I've never been a fan of Ruby Star Society fabrics but you and the quilty BFFs have changed my mind - Your vision for that pattern is going to make the Fabric Cafe look good! Can't wait to get that new book. Excellent work my friend, its a stunner. Happy stitching from a Quilty BFF Teri G
You're the best! I love those ladies and I downloaded the Rashida embroidery files for my daughter. I'll have to get the book to add to my collection. Fabric Cafe and Sewing Arts should thank you.
Hi there, just found your channel. I used the orange fabric in a holiday stocking I made for my grand niece. How do you get the embroidery files you used? Thank you
Nothing I do can be considered normal. LOL, but I'm not the first to add embroidery to quilts. I like to think I just Zhuzh mine a bit differently. It can be a thing though. I think people don't usually piece and embroider.
Mac, I hope all is well. I have a question, I looked in your Playlist, for a video on Batting, I didn't see any or maybe I overlooked it. I want to purchase a roll of Batting, but need suggestions on what kinds are good or bad etc. Anyway, I hope you are doing well, I heard you say you were going to the hospital. Just know I'm praying for your health and well-being. Jazzy Joyce
I'm out of the hospital and recovering now. I actually don't have a batting video yet. I mostly use 80/20 Hobbs and when I need something I can microwave I use 100% cotton. & when I'm going to embroider I use a battalizer.
Hey girlfriend how did you get the stitches for the appliqué in the embroidery machine? Did you purchase the design? If so where did you purchase it. I thought I heard you say Rashida Coleman Hale has the designs but I don’t see them on instagram or the web. Thanks

I think this is one of my favorite 3-yard quilts too. It came out much better than I could have imagined.
OMG this is REALLY STUNNING!!!! I absolutely love it!!!! Colors are perfect!
Right! Why did this work out so well?
Yes! I just finished my quilt top with the ladies using Rashida fabric. I love your take on them!
GO You! I'm still learning embroidery but I'm thinking of revisiting this with better stabilizer and making it larger
Very nice!!!! ❤❤❤ love the appliqué addition. Getting the book
I love it so much. This book is a good one

Wonderful! I bet it's the best stocking ever. These files are from OESD.
Oh wow a fabric design has embroidery patterns that go with it. Being new to quilting I didnt know that was a thing, is this a regualr occurence ?
I am curious about this also. Adore this quilt!

I've seen people do it before I just haven't seen a ton of people mix it with piecing.
