I love it when you say "Well, I think I figured it out" the way you do, it means something very interesting and cool is about to be explained in the most satisfying and logical way.

I don't know why I'm so excited for this series! I literally clicked on this as soon as I woke up so I could watch it with my morning coffee, my favorite time of day. Looking forward to the Lancaster episode!

This is kind of a day late and a dollar short, but maybe it will help with future projects. I learned in home economics from my sewing teacher to put white distilled vinegar on a piece of cloth and blot it on the crease then iron it. It will remove the crease. I don't know how it will do on satin though but it really works for poor folk fabric, lol You could test it out on a piece of scrap fabric. The dress is looking fantastic! I love it.

I was also thinking, how she could use vinegar on the creases without damaging the fabric? Maybe soak a pressing cloth and hover the iron to get the vinegar steam into the fabric and then iron directly?

WAIIIITTTTT A SECOND. I grew up 20 minutes north of Decatur! You're in my old stomping grounds! I used to drive past the airport at least once every other month or so, depending on where I was going.

Decatur? As in Decatur, Illinois? I’m from central Illinois, as well, although just south of Springfield. My brother lives in the country if Mattoon, but he raised his girls in Bethany. Anyway, I’ve been watching you for a few months, and you’re just lovely. Don’t worry, I’m not stalking you…I’m 68. I loved your story, of how you met your husband, and…my mother had a fabric shop and custom sewing business, and my sister and I learned to sew, as children. My sister worked full time with Mom, but I worked in an office, as I found myself a single Mom after their Dad (my husband) flew the coup for greener pastures. Anyway, I can relate to your videos, and I have so enjoyed them.❤

Yes I grew up in Springfield, though now I’m a bit northeast of it

I *immediately* recognized the store you showed a preview of at the start, and the Lace Place shot at the end! I lived on an Amish farm in Lancaster for 3 year (where we rented a 2 storey annex for a mere $525 a month on a 110 acre farm, complete with babbling brook and walking trails) and honestly the lace and fabric stores there are so good! I cannot wait for the next installment to see more familiar sites! Those were some of the best 3 years of my life, and all the antique stores were dangerous to my wallet hahaha.

The dress is beginning to take shape and I'm excited to see you work on all the decorative details.
A very interesting reflection regarding doing familiar things in unfamiliar spaces leading to bad choices. Very insightful!

I’m really loving the music in this one.
One thing I think beginner videos often slightly mess up is the volume of the music as compared to the volume of the narrator’s voice. And if I can say so, I think you’ve got it down pretty well
Anyway, I’m here for a rewatch, and I’m enjoying myself. It’s soothing and exciting and just fun!

So... I sort of think the bodice is a plain old scoop neck, all the way up to the bottom of the scallops on the lace. And the V lace is just an overlay. Does anyone else see this? Especially in the exhibit photos taken from the side, you can see the scallop edge on the lace coming away from the mannequin, but directly under that it is attached to something. And the join at the bottom of the lace just doesn't look like a seam to me.

I'm glad I could help. the decision to go with the non crinkled version is a great choice, it has the same shimmer that the movie dress does and I think you might be right on the nude as well. So looking forward to seeing this done!

@@MariahPattie I love tiny airports. My local airport is like that, the airport staff are so chill and friendly because there's so few passengers! I could drive a little farther to a bigger airport, but... sometimes it's worth paying more to fly out of the little one!

Just as an FYI, you are allowed to put sewing needles in your hand luggage, and scissors with a blade below 4 inches (although I'm aware that the scissors in question are bigger than that, but I thought I'd let you know)

@@alittlebitofkatie yeah, until they just take your favorite Caribbeaner with scissors inside since it's up to the agent. They can still take them 😭 Mine were under the size but in a smaller airport and went through another one with no problems 😡 I never take my faves with me any more.
