Fun fact, that robot woman face at the end, you see her confusing of her face. Because why the Tenno is crying for? Nobody cry for there enemies, but to the Tenno, she is more special to them act like a foster mother watched them, guild them etc then betrayal or brainwash we don't know either. So fair it may hint already she probably been controled by someone else doing there bittings. The war is pointless why they want to take over the orgin system? This is what makes it interesting, there something bigger behind the sense puppeting this war
I know you've already reacted to the starting cinematics for Starcraft, but I would also highly suggest reacting to some of the other ones! There's quite a few really good ones in the different campaigns, and Legacy of the Void has some very good cinematics, such as 'Alone' and 'Warrior'. Yet there's many other good ones! The amounts of emotional feels this trailer brings, the level of goosebumps it generates to all who lived Warframe story from begining to this moment is amazing. They totally nailed around 8 years of comes and goes in this trailer
I choke up every time I see her face, that scene from that quest, and the final showdown scene with the tears. It does such a good job of encapsulating the tenno journey and the terrible position we find ourselves in now. I cannot wait. I will cry.
15:00 this scene was literally in the game. They removed the operator's helmet but everything else is the same up to the camera angle and the arm's movement. This was our first time discovering who we really are as well as meeting the Lotus for the first time. The contrast between that scene and the previous one is extremely sad.
Thanks to Arcane, we actually are going into an era where more serie/movie adaptations of our favorite games might see the light of day. And obviously a serie or show about Warframe would be pretty successful I think
This trailer is very very dramatic and tragic. Its about our main characted - as adopted child, that must kill her deeply loved mom. And about mother that lost her family and memories, then found her new children, adopt and care them... But later, after recover main memories and leaving - facing back her adopted and loved child - trying to kill you and your original family. All flashbacks are scenes with mother-daughter relationships, all the pain and loss. And in the Finale - deadly conflict.
This trailer is more of an emotional one than cool one from the player perspective (at least those who have reached the current story), you can see the Tenno crying while she charging her void power and aim it to Natah.
I think Banshee's was fun because it followed the one grineer for a moment, and there's just random dead grineer in the background as the camera pans back around.
"The New War" is the culmination (hopefuly) of the biggest arc in the main storyline in Warframe. Bringing together all races within current conflict to fight off an invasion of Scentient enemies from beyond the Solar system while postuling the question if "the mother" character in the story is our ally or our foe and if we the player will choose to spare her or kill her. Hopefuly it will be a game changing event for Warframe and I just cannot wait.
Fun fact: all the abilities and things you saw during the fighting scene are also abilities in the game and they do work the same, Nova(first character that throws the portal) also has these portals that are one-way portals and can be taken by the allies, the big guy(Rhino) has that stomp as his 4th ability that throws enemies into the air and slows them down(just like how it happens in the scene). Not to mention the weapons as well: the dual guns that Nova is holding and starts blasting(called aksomati), they slowly ramp up their fire rate as you can hear and see in the cinematic and Boltor the grey weapon Rhino holds also impales enemies and if they are close to a wall sticks them to it (as for the other character called Excalibur they didn't really show any of his abilities but they did show them in the other cinematic) As a veteran and someone who has been playing for 6-7 years I really loved both the cinematic and your video. Keep up the good work!
The portal graphics and ability to throw it remotely dont exist like that in game, and the Boltors shots are not so strong they would one shot kill and impale Grineer enemies at levels relevant to quests.
@@635574 I wasn't really talking about graphics, as for Boltor it does the same thing (yes it is a weak weapon but still does that to lower level enemies)(on the same note, neither does an Ogris work like the one in the cinematic) . Also for throwing nova's portals yes you're right I was talking about nova using the portal on her own where it looks like she just opens it like she does in game, kind of ignored the rhino part, my bad. Still they feel more or less the same and even though they aren't that spectacular in game the game still has a nice flow to it.
If you've played the game, you'll see a thousand cool little things in this trailer. If you know the lore, you'll understand the immense weight of these events too. When all of this is wrapped in a high-quality package, you get an absolutely phenomenal trailer. Oh, BTW if you were wondering about that tear, it's because the "boss character" thing is a really long story. It's sort of like being forced to fight against your own mother. This scene is super heavy on its own, but if you include the lore, it just shoots off the chart.
Can I just say the sound design in this trailer (really the whole game, but the trailer is the subject of the video) is absolutely amazing. The music, and the sound of the enemy right when the title shows at the end, has such an effect combined together...10/10
@@djupstaten2328 *swoons in Hek* Seriously though, it is. A great example of this is, if you've played the Sacrifice, "Smiles From Juran" from the Sacrifice OST, or "Your Creator" from the same. The Sacrifice specifically is a wonderful example of just how good everything in this game sounds, and how unique it all is too
Man, were you even breathing while watching? XD You asked who that face is, right? It's... I'm in a conflict with myself whether to tell you or not. The story about her, and how she became THAT requires completion of some missions that are pretty far in the storyline, missions that cast some light on the past as well. I'll just say that she's someone we used to trust, but it turns out that her will was not entirely her own. Quests that reveal a huge chunk of the lore are starting with Natah, all the way up to The Sacrifice, with the New War cutscene trilogy (soon to be renamed into Prelude to War, not to be confused with the upcoming quest). One notable mission on the starchart, outside of the quests, is the Ropalolyst on Jupiter, that gets unlocked upon completing Chimera Prologue, one of the cutscenes from the trilogy.
[Warframe Lore SPOILER] A thing you might not know: This is basically us (the girl) killing our foster mother, who saved and guided us once, that became the creepy floating thing (sentient) after her betrayal on us. Thats the reason the girl is so emotional invested in the last moments of the trailer. Obviously I havent played it yet, so this might be wrong, but Im 95% sure that Im right.
Well tbh she betrayed hunhow the sentient (her father) first, she was ordered to kill the tenno when she infiltrated the orokin ranks as a spy called lotus after the death of (Margulis) so since she was sentient and she had to go through the void to get to us this means she can't have kids and that's probably why she didn't kill us because she wanted to be a mother and became our mother figure, but the weird thing is now after all these years why would she betray us and go back the sentients and her brother erra she must of returned to he original orders of her father or tried to redeem her self or maybe they forced her to change back but i think it's the former.

My nec has finally built my railjack is maxed everything i need to do it I've spent a week without sleep maybe a hour of sleep 30 mins but i grinded so so much to get to this part an I'm so so happy!!
I remember when Warframe first was released and seeing how much it has grown over the years is a truly amazing thing to witness. The game used to not have much of a story but now it has SO MUCH STORY it is fabulous!! This game has been such an amazing piece of work that the development team has constantly poured their hearts and souls in to. SO MUCH LOVE TO THEM ALL~!! 18:55 that's wasn't in slow motion that was the character power whe he stomps everything that is caught in the shock wave get thrown into the are and suspended for 10 seconds
13:01 talking about carrying the glow effect to the actors face. If light emitter (the orb) does not produce enough light to give the effect you want, and increasing the intensity washes out the scene, adding a fill light, keyed to match the color and effect (the flick he mentions), is a good solution. Just remember, subtlety is key. The glow on the face is slighly less intense then the glow on the hand. This works due to the differences between how well our eyes work and the limitations of cameras, screen, and other devices.
The movie was Predator where Arnold threw a huge bowie knife into an enemy, pinning him to a wooden wall. He then goes as you quote, "Stick around." With a camo-covered grin on his face.
I love how the blue represents the tenno and the red is the sentient and the Lotus/Natah still has some blue lights behind her "face" possibly meaning she's still a bit the Lotus we know? also when we see the tenno face, in the close up she looks scared and the light flickers from blue to red, reminder of the ongoing conflict tenno vs sentient
Yes! Music can make or break a scene. I think the composers for this did an amazing job keeping the mood and tension right where it should be and ending with that crescendo to sudden silence was perfection
They nailed the visual of mother, savior and nurturing figure to betrayed and the final expression bringing it current to the tearful rage of not wanting to do this but so angry at what's happening, been done and what she is now making you do as the player.
13:43 - I love this game so much, so that face wasn't so much creepy as it was heartbreaking. SPOILERS FOR THE MAIN STORY OF WARFRAME SO FAR The Lotus abandoned her identity to be a mother to the Zariman Ten Zero children, who lost their parents, and some of them probably had to kill their parents. She's their mother. And now she's on the side of the Sentients, who are inimical to humanity. She may have to kill her mother, the only person who has ever been there for her, who abandoned her when she needed a mother the most, and this may not be the first time. This trailer for real hurt my feelings, almost as much as the last couple of quests did.

Yup, they're behind the SWTOR cinematics folks. We're hoping for a new one for Legacy of the Sith on Dec. 14. 🤞 The first time I heard of Blur Studios was for the DC Universe Online cinematic. Another banger.
Probably the longest quest I have ever played 🤔 The expectations was high and I am not disappointed for the first time in a while 😁 Recommended this game :)
Just in case no one else has pointed it out. The three frames are Nova(The girl), Rhino(The tank) and Excalibur(The ninja). In the lore the powers come from the kids, not so much from the frames. The frames were designed for each Tenno to enhance and focus that power. Which is why the flashback where the woman hugs the girl, happens right after she uses her power. Because Nova the girl, had problems with her powers, they all did, and that woman Margolis, helped the kids control that power and maintain their sanity.
Thanks Chris! I hope you jump back into warframe to finish the story-line once it all ends. I think it's a well written one. Hope you keep doing great (both in health and success)
So this is gonna be a bit of a spoiler post but I'll try my best to explain alot of the stuff happening in the Trailer: Last warning for spoilers Ok, so the thing about Warframe is that you play as a Tenno piloting Warframes. The Tenno were kids (the small girl in the trailer) aboard a ship lost in the void, where as everyone else was loosing their minds and going insane, the kids ended up perfectly fine but with powers to access the Void. Because of these abilities, they could pilot the Warframes thru technology called "Transference". Think a much higher tech version of the chairs from the Matrix where rather than having an Avatar in a super realistic world, you pilot a Robot that is armed with Space Magic abilities. (Each Warframe has a theme around their powers). The sequences you see in the trailer are as follows: -The ship you see is a Sentient Vessel, ancient enemies of the Orokin. A long time ago, the Orokin created the Sentients as Terraforming machines, but eventually gained sentience and rebeled against their creators. It was this war that came about the creation of the Tenno and their Warframes. A symbiotic relationship that crafted some of the deadliest beings in the known universe. Where other soldiers died by the score in the war, The Tenno held the line. And tho there were losses, the sentients eventually retreated -The woman you see at 2:10 is a character known to all players as "The Lotus". She was our compatriot for years and the person who originally woke us up to start the game. She guided the Tenno, helped them along, and as you can see at 2:20, brought them to their orbital ship that each Tenno calls home. (The Second Dream quest covers this). -2:35 shows a Tenno on a mission with 2 other Tenno. The gal is piloting the Nova frame, backed up by the Rhino frame (Big muscular guy) and the Excalibuer frame (Dude with the sword, One of the 3 starter frames) -3:23 So one thing about the Tenno is that even tho they are children, THEY ARE TERRIFYING. Warframes by themselves are powerful, but they are just avatars. So imagine being that Grineer soldier, thinking you just beat a Warframe and all the Glory about to come to you... only to see the very source of the Warframes power show up. A living, breathing Tenno reveal themself in the flesh... and their wrath is aimed right at you. (Granted, Tenno in the game are not THAT powerful, but seeing her unleash the Void like that... CHILLS) -3:40 This sequence never happened in the game, but Lotus was like a mother to all Tenno. I love this sequence because it's like a child waking up from a nightmare, only to be consoled by the warming embrace of a mother. -3:50 So I'll try not to ruin what happens and how we got to this, but the Lotus eventually becomes our enemy and you can just see the pain on the Tenno's face as she is forced to face off not just against the Sentient threat... but the woman who mothered her for all the years she's been active. For anyone interested, go play Warframe or go watch Run thrus of the story.
Apex dropped a new "Story from the Outlands" called Gridiron, it's pretty good. Edit: the anger on the Tenno's face when she is knocked from her Nova (Warframe) and the glow of void energy in her eyes, just... mmm. Though, in game, you don't get knocked out of your Warframe when damaged out, plus most enemies don't disintegrate from the base void beam, or even die right away. A lot of backwards mechanics are displayed in some of the cinematics. Regardless, a good trailer.
at 21:24 area you the character is a female version of cloud from final fantasy 7 but to me she looks like tifa lockheart in a different time line and cloud the bar keep/member of avalanche.
CHRIS, the reaction you had when you saw this trailer was similar to the reaction I had when I saw the other trailers and the game that for me is one of the best games made so far. i would love to see you break down some of the older game cinematics like ff or starcraft. both square and blizzard are top notch on the cinematics nowadays would be cool to see how far they have come and the difference in techniques from the 90s to today aswell
Also I hope you know that "creepy" character is your matron in the game . She's known in the community as space mom, so you're watching a child having to take down their only real parental figure. It's a story that hits deep, and fans are wondering, can we choose to let her come back ?
Hey! I can be proud to admit it only took me 5 viewings of the new trailer before I stoped sheding tears by the end. My eyes still get misty though, so I might need to watch it a dozen more times

Just to give some context surprisingly few picked up: it is the trailer about the operator (the tan skinned girl) and Lotus (white woman/creepy alien with human face)
Spoiler alert for the Warframe storyline ! And long comment alert too. So, many people already commented on that, but the big creature in the center (the one Chris called creepy and did not imo pay enough attention to) is really, really really important. For nearly the whole game, she's our guide, our light, our mother. You play a character that wakes up after a long long time, and she, the Lotus, is here to help you get back on your feet, she tells you what to do, because you're lost and don't know much about what's happening around you. And as the hours of gameplay go on, you either learn to love her presence or hate it because her commentary, along with the commentary of another character is the only dialogue you hear in most of missions, making it quite repetitive and maybe boring to some. But when you get to a certain point in the storyline, you discover that the Lotus is not what you may have thought. She is no human. In fact she seemed to have forgotten what she was for a time, but as you discover more and more about her past, you understand that she's an alien named Natah sent to destroy your order from the inside many years ago (before you went to sleep for generations) but ultimately felt like she had a duty towards you, a mother's duty. And so she betrayed her own specie to save you, and help you win the war. In the next quest you discover why she felt like a mother. You're not what you thought you were either. In fact, inside these characters you play, you are just a child. A child who was on a ship full of people, that disappeared in space to come back with only children alive. Due to the exposure to something strange that we call Void (but it's not actually void, more like another dimension void of things we can understand) the children got strange powers, and were experimented on and later used as weapons. And now you kinda understand better why she felt like a mother, she's helping orphans that were abused for science's and war's sake after they disappeared for maybe years in another dimension. But a character from her past named Ballas comes and convince her to go with him. And so you start tracking Ballas down to get answers and to know where the f he took your mom this ahole didn't even ask if you were okay with it! But when you finally find him and confront him (and nearly killed him too) a monster appears, you guessed it, it's the same as in the trailer, and when it reveals it's face, our character recognize the Lotus. Or rather Natah for she became once again what she originally was. After this quest we meet them a few times, especially in cinematics and we understand that she's not really a bad guy now, but she's clearly not on our side anymore, plus she's being controlled by her own brother. So this last cinematic teasing the new war shows how hard it is for the child to decide to kill her own mother. But it also shows that even if Lotus became Natah once more and betrayed us, it's clear that she still worries for us and maybe still think of us as her children. But this is a problem I have with this trailer, how does the public who discover the game with this teaser is supposed to feel anything?? Sure it looks amazing, but first of all it spoils the biggest quest of the game (without taking the new war into account I still haven't played it don't spoil me please) and the emotional baggage in this teaser is just inexistent if you don't know who's who and what the situation is. Which bother me because clearly the emotional baggage is the focus of this cinematic.
I know people whove seen it without playing the game and they loved it because it shows theres more to the game than just "guns go brr" and they are curious about the story
Outside of the film making aspect of things, the lore of the game is very handy when watching this. The trailer itself is very lore heavy, but it still readable without knowing the lore of the game. Also, some story board frames are on the Warframe Twitter account, check those out if you haven't. Spolier below: The thing that reveals it's face is the Lotus, which is the same *person* carrying our character. She serves as the story 'guide' throughout the game and progression. The carrying, is as you thought, a flashback. The Lotus, being out story guide, is also very motherly to the playerbase/fanbase. I believe the woman hugging our character is Margulis, the previous mother figure to our character, but I won't go deeper into the lore with her.

While it’s not the Warframe Prime Trailers specifically Valkyr, Banshee, and Nekros, I freaking loved this!
He should definitely check these trailers out, maybe even every Prime one. It would be so interesting to analyse them

I was a little pissed it was nova cuz mag was in that place at the beginning and ofcourse I took mag lol
The music reference at Lotus and Margulis scenes hits even harder when you know their meaning.

Can I just say the sound design in this trailer (really the whole game, but the trailer is the subject of the video) is absolutely amazing. The music, and the sound of the enemy right when the title shows at the end, has such an effect combined together...10/10
But occasionally a new version of rework of weapon audio will sound worse when they try to upgrade the audio tech.

Seriously though, it is. A great example of this is, if you've played the Sacrifice, "Smiles From Juran" from the Sacrifice OST, or "Your Creator" from the same. The Sacrifice specifically is a wonderful example of just how good everything in this game sounds, and how unique it all is too

You asked who that face is, right? It's... I'm in a conflict with myself whether to tell you or not. The story about her, and how she became THAT requires completion of some missions that are pretty far in the storyline, missions that cast some light on the past as well. I'll just say that she's someone we used to trust, but it turns out that her will was not entirely her own.
Quests that reveal a huge chunk of the lore are starting with Natah, all the way up to The Sacrifice, with the New War cutscene trilogy (soon to be renamed into Prelude to War, not to be confused with the upcoming quest). One notable mission on the starchart, outside of the quests, is the Ropalolyst on Jupiter, that gets unlocked upon completing Chimera Prologue, one of the cutscenes from the trilogy.
The Ropalolyst "Scene" actually was pretty epic imo. "Our History is smoke. Blurred by Dreams...."

A thing you might not know:
This is basically us (the girl) killing our foster mother, who saved and guided us once, that became the creepy floating thing (sentient) after her betrayal on us.
Thats the reason the girl is so emotional invested in the last moments of the trailer. Obviously I havent played it yet, so this might be wrong, but Im 95% sure that Im right.
Your correct, funny thing at that part, Foster mother face is like confused why the Tenno is crying.
She didnt betray us, she was being controlled by ballas and which ballas is also being controlled by Era
Well tbh she betrayed hunhow the sentient (her father) first, she was ordered to kill the tenno when she infiltrated the orokin ranks as a spy called lotus after the death of (Margulis) so since she was sentient and she had to go through the void to get to us this means she can't have kids and that's probably why she didn't kill us because she wanted to be a mother and became our mother figure, but the weird thing is now after all these years why would she betray us and go back the sentients and her brother erra she must of returned to he original orders of her father or tried to redeem her self or maybe they forced her to change back but i think it's the former.

The amount of emotions i get watching this trailer!! an today is the day i get to start this quest!! I'm so excited!!! My nec has finally built my railjack is maxed everything i need to do it I've spent a week without sleep maybe a hour of sleep 30 mins but i grinded so so much to get to this part an I'm so so happy!!
I remember when Warframe first was released and seeing how much it has grown over the years is a truly amazing thing to witness. The game used to not have much of a story but now it has SO MUCH STORY it is fabulous!! This game has been such an amazing piece of work that the development team has constantly poured their hearts and souls in to. SO MUCH LOVE TO THEM ALL~!!

Not sure if it's Rhino Stomp, but it could also be **checks wiki** his passive Hard Landing + Heavy Impact + exiting from a high Worm Hole.

13:01 talking about carrying the glow effect to the actors face. If light emitter (the orb) does not produce enough light to give the effect you want, and increasing the intensity washes out the scene, adding a fill light, keyed to match the color and effect (the flick he mentions), is a good solution.
Just remember, subtlety is key. The glow on the face is slighly less intense then the glow on the hand.
This works due to the differences between how well our eyes work and the limitations of cameras, screen, and other devices.
The movie was Predator where Arnold threw a huge bowie knife into an enemy, pinning him to a wooden wall. He then goes as you quote, "Stick around." With a camo-covered grin on his face.
I love how the blue represents the tenno and the red is the sentient and the Lotus/Natah still has some blue lights behind her "face" possibly meaning she's still a bit the Lotus we know? also when we see the tenno face, in the close up she looks scared and the light flickers from blue to red, reminder of the ongoing conflict tenno vs sentient
Cinematography is important but just as important is the musical notes they put with it.
Yes! Music can make or break a scene. I think the composers for this did an amazing job keeping the mood and tension right where it should be and ending with that crescendo to sudden silence was perfection
Warframe is not just the best Free to play game but it's also one of the Best ongoing game out there.
They nailed the visual of mother, savior and nurturing figure to betrayed and the final expression bringing it current to the tearful rage of not wanting to do this but so angry at what's happening, been done and what she is now making you do as the player.
13:43 - I love this game so much, so that face wasn't so much creepy as it was heartbreaking. SPOILERS FOR THE MAIN STORY OF WARFRAME SO FAR
The Lotus abandoned her identity to be a mother to the Zariman Ten Zero children, who lost their parents, and some of them probably had to kill their parents. She's their mother. And now she's on the side of the Sentients, who are inimical to humanity. She may have to kill her mother, the only person who has ever been there for her, who abandoned her when she needed a mother the most, and this may not be the first time.
This trailer for real hurt my feelings, almost as much as the last couple of quests did.

With how well they made these trailers they need to make a tv show or movie based off the game story line!
Just in case no one else has pointed it out. The three frames are Nova(The girl), Rhino(The tank) and Excalibur(The ninja).
In the lore the powers come from the kids, not so much from the frames. The frames were designed for each Tenno to enhance and focus that power. Which is why the flashback where the woman hugs the girl, happens right after she uses her power. Because Nova the girl, had problems with her powers, they all did, and that woman Margolis, helped the kids control that power and maintain their sanity.

So this is gonna be a bit of a spoiler post but I'll try my best to explain alot of the stuff happening in the Trailer:
Last warning for spoilers
Ok, so the thing about Warframe is that you play as a Tenno piloting Warframes. The Tenno were kids (the small girl in the trailer) aboard a ship lost in the void, where as everyone else was loosing their minds and going insane, the kids ended up perfectly fine but with powers to access the Void.
Because of these abilities, they could pilot the Warframes thru technology called "Transference". Think a much higher tech version of the chairs from the Matrix where rather than having an Avatar in a super realistic world, you pilot a Robot that is armed with Space Magic abilities. (Each Warframe has a theme around their powers).
The sequences you see in the trailer are as follows:
-The ship you see is a Sentient Vessel, ancient enemies of the Orokin. A long time ago, the Orokin created the Sentients as Terraforming machines, but eventually gained sentience and rebeled against their creators. It was this war that came about the creation of the Tenno and their Warframes. A symbiotic relationship that crafted some of the deadliest beings in the known universe. Where other soldiers died by the score in the war, The Tenno held the line. And tho there were losses, the sentients eventually retreated
-The woman you see at 2:10 is a character known to all players as "The Lotus". She was our compatriot for years and the person who originally woke us up to start the game. She guided the Tenno, helped them along, and as you can see at 2:20, brought them to their orbital ship that each Tenno calls home. (The Second Dream quest covers this).
-2:35 shows a Tenno on a mission with 2 other Tenno. The gal is piloting the Nova frame, backed up by the Rhino frame (Big muscular guy) and the Excalibuer frame (Dude with the sword, One of the 3 starter frames)
-3:23 So one thing about the Tenno is that even tho they are children, THEY ARE TERRIFYING. Warframes by themselves are powerful, but they are just avatars. So imagine being that Grineer soldier, thinking you just beat a Warframe and all the Glory about to come to you... only to see the very source of the Warframes power show up. A living, breathing Tenno reveal themself in the flesh... and their wrath is aimed right at you. (Granted, Tenno in the game are not THAT powerful, but seeing her unleash the Void like that... CHILLS)
-3:40 This sequence never happened in the game, but Lotus was like a mother to all Tenno. I love this sequence because it's like a child waking up from a nightmare, only to be consoled by the warming embrace of a mother.
-3:50 So I'll try not to ruin what happens and how we got to this, but the Lotus eventually becomes our enemy and you can just see the pain on the Tenno's face as she is forced to face off not just against the Sentient threat... but the woman who mothered her for all the years she's been active.
For anyone interested, go play Warframe or go watch Run thrus of the story.

Apex dropped a new "Story from the Outlands" called Gridiron, it's pretty good.
Edit: the anger on the Tenno's face when she is knocked from her Nova (Warframe) and the glow of void energy in her eyes, just... mmm. Though, in game, you don't get knocked out of your Warframe when damaged out, plus most enemies don't disintegrate from the base void beam, or even die right away. A lot of backwards mechanics are displayed in some of the cinematics. Regardless, a good trailer.
This trailer brought me to tears, it has so much weight to it for veteran warframe payers
at 21:24 area you the character is a female version of cloud from final fantasy 7 but to me she looks like tifa lockheart in a different time line and cloud the bar keep/member of avalanche.

Just to give some context surprisingly few picked up: it is the trailer about the operator (the tan skinned girl) and Lotus (white woman/creepy alien with human face)

Spoiler alert for the Warframe storyline ! And long comment alert too.
So, many people already commented on that, but the big creature in the center (the one Chris called creepy and did not imo pay enough attention to) is really, really really important.
For nearly the whole game, she's our guide, our light, our mother. You play a character that wakes up after a long long time, and she, the Lotus, is here to help you get back on your feet, she tells you what to do, because you're lost and don't know much about what's happening around you. And as the hours of gameplay go on, you either learn to love her presence or hate it because her commentary, along with the commentary of another character is the only dialogue you hear in most of missions, making it quite repetitive and maybe boring to some.
But when you get to a certain point in the storyline, you discover that the Lotus is not what you may have thought. She is no human. In fact she seemed to have forgotten what she was for a time, but as you discover more and more about her past, you understand that she's an alien named Natah sent to destroy your order from the inside many years ago (before you went to sleep for generations) but ultimately felt like she had a duty towards you, a mother's duty. And so she betrayed her own specie to save you, and help you win the war.
In the next quest you discover why she felt like a mother. You're not what you thought you were either. In fact, inside these characters you play, you are just a child. A child who was on a ship full of people, that disappeared in space to come back with only children alive. Due to the exposure to something strange that we call Void (but it's not actually void, more like another dimension void of things we can understand) the children got strange powers, and were experimented on and later used as weapons.
And now you kinda understand better why she felt like a mother, she's helping orphans that were abused for science's and war's sake after they disappeared for maybe years in another dimension.
But a character from her past named Ballas comes and convince her to go with him. And so you start tracking Ballas down to get answers and to know where the f he took your mom this ahole didn't even ask if you were okay with it! But when you finally find him and confront him (and nearly killed him too) a monster appears, you guessed it, it's the same as in the trailer, and when it reveals it's face, our character recognize the Lotus. Or rather Natah for she became once again what she originally was.
After this quest we meet them a few times, especially in cinematics and we understand that she's not really a bad guy now, but she's clearly not on our side anymore, plus she's being controlled by her own brother.
So this last cinematic teasing the new war shows how hard it is for the child to decide to kill her own mother. But it also shows that even if Lotus became Natah once more and betrayed us, it's clear that she still worries for us and maybe still think of us as her children.
But this is a problem I have with this trailer, how does the public who discover the game with this teaser is supposed to feel anything?? Sure it looks amazing, but first of all it spoils the biggest quest of the game (without taking the new war into account I still haven't played it don't spoil me please) and the emotional baggage in this teaser is just inexistent if you don't know who's who and what the situation is. Which bother me because clearly the emotional baggage is the focus of this cinematic.
I know people whove seen it without playing the game and they loved it because it shows theres more to the game than just "guns go brr" and they are curious about the story

Outside of the film making aspect of things, the lore of the game is very handy when watching this. The trailer itself is very lore heavy, but it still readable without knowing the lore of the game.

The thing that reveals it's face is the Lotus, which is the same *person* carrying our character. She serves as the story 'guide' throughout the game and progression. The carrying, is as you thought, a flashback. The Lotus, being out story guide, is also very motherly to the playerbase/fanbase. I believe the woman hugging our character is Margulis, the previous mother figure to our character, but I won't go deeper into the lore with her.
