Both of those would help me on my yak. Mine is paddle only and a place for my paddle would be nice. I have a rod holder that's not quite as flexible. It's good for setting a rod down for rigging or whatever but it's hard to find the right spot to troll with it. The rod and paddle always end up at odds. If I put it forward enough to paddle it's too far and any farther back the paddle hits or I have to paddle weird. I have holders in my hull slightly behind the seat but I think a fish might jerk the rod out of the holder trolling. I'd like to drag a lure every time I move far enough. Hopefully this next spring I'll figure it out for a better season.
Thanks for the reply. I had the same problem with my paddle and rod fighting each other!! Like I said in the video I like to fish in skinny water so I'm using the paddle most of the time. Hopefully this will help me manage the rod and paddle a little better. I was going to make something with PVC pipe for the paddle however I found that by the time I paid for the materials it was better for me to just buy the paddle holders. Do you have any track on your kayak?
@saltwaterjacksfishing yes I have a Vibe Sea Ghost, 13' long. It's got track on both sides. That's where the rod holder gets in the way, unless I push the holder very far forward. Then it's dangerous to grab because I have to lean forward to get it.
Love the video! Efficiency equals more time fishing and not fighting with stuff getting in your way.
@dennishines649 Thanks for the comment!! I agree 100%. I'm still figuring it out!!

@@comfortablynumb9342 Just looked up your Kayak. Nice! I see what you mean about finding a good spot. If I think of something, I'll respond back.
@saltwaterjacksfishing thanks!
Was thinking about your set up. What kind of fish do you target when trolling?
Is that a nucanoe ?
Yes. It's a 2023 Unlimited. Love it so far. What do you have?
