When I played FF8 as a child on ps1 I didn't even comprehend what a GF was or do. It was (and still is) my favourite game tho. I didn't really use draw, like almost never. I didn't understand any of the game mechanics or story (my native language is not english, and no translation back then). I've never known that you can draw GFs from bosses. Somehow I still managed to reach Ragnarok, just couldn't beat the aliens. My first adult playthrough after more then a decade was very interesting to say the least. Like playing a completely different game. Anyways, I'm just happy to share these memories, I will love this game until the day I ....

I learned this in 1999 via brady games strategy guide. I read it so much I can tell you EVERYTHING about FF VIII and every side quest, Lake Obadi and PuPu as well as chocobo forests and Shimu village. I can get the fathoms PERFECT every time to get to Ultima Weapon.

Marlboro can also be encountered by Lunar Base on the Esthar Plains, it's a rare encounter but it helps for the people who wanna get Marlboro Tentacles without waiting to get the Ragnarok or spending time grinding Triple Triad games for the cards. You can use 3x Speed cheat to help chances to fight it.
I always wanted to ask a ffx fan, with all honesty, why? Like what do you like in 10? I’m a 7 fan and 9 my second favorite and tactics 3rd. What do you see in x? It’s such a drag and Tidus is so whinny and the narrative is a melodrama. I loved 7 and 9 story.
@@asu5632 tidus is a relatable character, but personally the ost draws me in. It's my fave game of all time, the story is well written like most ff games. I think the dialogue and emotional impact is just amazing, ive never been more attached to characters like the ffx ones. I can go on forever about how amazingly developed they all are. It's also pretty straightforward, the gameplay. It's simple and most spells from previous games work better in it because of the battle system I just prefer it over others, what did you think about the game?

I was too poor as a kid to get a ps2 so never played it but now I’m trying and it’s just not as enjoyable as 7 and 9. He’ll even 8. Couple of honest drags is the story telling and I can’t relate to Squall in 8 and even Tidus. I get it. Tidus hates his dad. What an over played story right but he just keeps going on. Lulu is cynical of Tidus and yuna is just so innocent and impressionable and wakka is so careless I don’t get the hype. The characters when step in battle are nice with their strengths kind of like 9 did and I like the sphere tree but leveling is dumb in this game. You can’t level. That’s very annoying to me. I love leveling. I also hate to make an impact on flying creature I have to bring wakka in or Auron. Anyways Tidus is no Cloud Strife or even Zidane.

No matter how hard and how many times you may die, ALWAYS get Diablos immediately after you’re given the lamp. If your characters are likely at their most barren/weakest, lacking much of any viable magic attacks or strong heals. As such, he’s gonna cast a combination of gravity based spells that greatly weaken but can’t outright kill anyone, (Demi removes 25% of a party members current HP, and his most deadly attack, the dreaded “Gravija” will take away a massive amount of HP from all party members at once - 75% I believe), And he will then follow up almost immediately with a swift and very hard hitting (for this point in the game) melee attack. The key to winning this fight is squall’s limit break which becomes accessible when his health is low (yay gravija lol). If you’re not familiar with limit breaks they sometimes appear in place of a regular attack option when your party member’s HP is in the yellow (low). Once squall is in the yellow keep rapidly cycling through party members until you get lucky and see the “renzokuken” option in place of his normal physical attack. This will deal a lot of damage, even more so if you time the controller “trigger” cues correctly, each successful connection deals extra damage than it would have, and even more if you get a “perfect”. The only issue with this strat is you have massive incoming damage and you’re under pressure to end the fight as soon as possible (which requires dealing a lot of damage to the boss before he has time to cast too many spells and physical attacks - in the beginning cures, pots, Phoenix downs will keep you in the fight, but the longer you let it drag on the more of an advantage he will have. Your reward for one of the most arguably challenging bosses on disc 1 is a GF with a pretty lame ability (he casts the same animation on your enemies when summoned as he did on you when he used “gravija”, except instead of taking away 75% of current HP it will only take away 25%, so it’s like casting a “Demi”), but some of the most AMAZING and unique GF abilities he can learn like encounter none which eliminates random battles entirely at will.
I must have spent over 1000 hours playing this game on my PlayStation 1, mildly enjoyable. I found flying the ragnarok over the oceans and plains, finding the guardian force locations and the little puzzles to unlock the boss fights the most enjoyable. The storyline was also excellent.
It was enjoyable, but I disliked the junction system, mainly because I do like to cast magic but it rewards you for not using magic, as well as everyone but Rinoa being at the same orphanage when they were little kids.
The very first time I played this game I decided to skip out on trying to get Eden. I figured I wasn’t prepared well enough to face Ultima Weapon and i would skip out on getting the best GF. Little did I know I could draw GFs from Ultimecia’s monsters, when I discovered Eden was drawable from Tiamat lol
Good video, it brought back memories, that if I never mixed items to get the Phoenix GF, they gave it to me as an invisible object in the village of the Mombas, something like that, and the Siren did not know the location at that time, I remember that I extracted it from an enemy in the catacombs where it goes for Ultima weapon, it is an enemy similar to the one in the tower of the first mission but with a higher level. So I played FF8 when I was a baby who still hadn’t learned English as a second language. I played deeep into disc 3 before even thinking of drawing other GFs from bosses. I only had the main 3, Odin, Diabolos, and oddly enough Bahamut. I just brute forced his sequence and fight. It’s interesting seeing so many GFs I missed.
Fun fact: You can also get Diablos when you're using Laguna, Ward, and Kiros for the first time on Disc 1. I did that once, and haven't regretted the move one bit.
I recently gotten another ps1 just for this because I played it with just the gf off the 1st disc. Now I'm on a mission to get all of em to see what they can do.
For anyone who can’t get to Eden after you beat bahmut just go back to ragnarock and talk to irvine and then just get back out and go back to the room after u beat bahmut and the save point will be their as well as the little bridge and the tree to climb down
i played only once when FFVIII comes out, i bought a beatyfull Europe Collector Box and still have it in perfect condition with only the withe memory card opened 😺 i missed some GF , like Carbuncle, Doomtrain, Tomberry , Moogle and Mumba 😿

Prob let everyone know to use encounter none ability from diablos while going for Odin to save time since your gonna want people to draw 100 triple each from Odin. Easiest place to get triple.
Nice guide but im abit confused with the chocobo part. 17 It says You can buy gysahl greens in chocobo forest that you havent completed yet? Ehhh am I missing something or does that sentence seems abit off? Do u need the spin off game chocobo world to be able to summon him?
Loved the video but quick side note, I think you forgot phoenix. You first summon it but using a phoenix pinion and once you do like odin it is a chance summon and has a chance to appear when your party gets wiped and revive everyone while doing massive fire damage.
i'll never forget my first play through when seifer attacked and the odin appearance triggered. 14year old me was like 'oooooooooooooooooooooooo snap!' I couldn't believe it could trigger on boss fights! Way to go devs! he'd make quick work of the battle. And then he charged in.... i was lost as to who gilgamesh was. Completely confused, having only played 7. I legit wanted to quit the game after losing odin, but then gilgamesh appeared and did masamune and i was like, oh dope. guess i'll keep on.
Luckily I immediately watched the video, I lost siren, but Carbuncle I was right in that point. for the next GF at least I know they will be in the bosses of the story
For those who is watching, I suggest you guys to postpone getting Odin and only get him in disc 4. The reason is if you get him before disc 4, he will be permanently killed by Seifer in Disc 3 and replaced by Gilgamesh.. Gilgamesh is just soooo unreliable....

On my first playthrough my head is spinning lol. Long game I hear like 30-40 hours straight and 80ish for full complete. I've had diablos for a while. Did the whole card thing and got punishment then did some twisted junction stuff for 3k hp on all characters and 140-179 str at level 15

Wrong. GF Moomba and all pocketstation exclusives are still available. They were added to the item pool for Angelo Search. None are missable except for Gilgamesh (unless you've already finished Ultimecia's Castle. Then Siren, Brothers Carbuncle, Leviathan, Pandemona, Cerberus, Alexander and Eden are also missable)

The abilities are pretty self-explanatory 🤷♂️ if you don't understand them, then you just don't understand them, nobody can make you understand them anymore/less. Also, why ask a question via UA-cam comment, when you could be like every other rational thinking homosapien, and just use Google? Food for thought
If you haven't killed the boses in Ultimecia castle you can still get some of the GFs by drawing them from the bosses. You can also go back to the world map by going outside the castle and going to the middle portal. It will take you to Centra, then look around for a chocobo forest. Once you have your chocobo use the map and go to the flashing point. The flashing point is the Ragnarok. All the cities are locked but you can still use the ship to get Odin, Tomberry, Cacteur and Bahamut.
Is better to draw eden from ultima weapon instead of tiamat, not only because of the early benefits of the junction but because eden is able to go over 9999 dmg (from tiamat will be capped). I still don't know how to make eden lvl up faster, never got it more than lvl 41/42
I've played this game three times since 99 and have never beat it. In 99 my disc four was scratched so I never even got to try it, the PS3 remastered I gave up on in Ultima castle( I couldn't win with all my power taken away) I'm playing it again...any tips on dealit with getting your power back in disc four?
You can't get Gil without Odin, and Odin has to die for you to get Gil. Angelo isn't a summon he is Rinoa's limit break when she doesn't go sorceress. Moomba and Moogle are tied to the Chocoworld minigame that is a grind to get.

It's worth it, more GFs mean more stat abilities and strength for your party members.
You can draw missed gfs from the last bosses at ultemicia castle. You need to unlock the draw command obvs but each one has a different gf
Don't give up! Try play this game from the very beginning! You can get All GFs in 1 playthrough, I promise you this!

For anyone who can’t get to Eden after you beat bahmut just go back to ragnarock and talk to irvine and then just get back out and go back to the room after u beat bahmut and the save point will be their as well as the little bridge and the tree to climb down

@@Knightess pc's in the 2000's couldn't play the cd ost like they can nowdays, so square remade every song in midi and never changed it for some reason on it's most recent versions
I went through most of this video after reading this comment like “it’s not that bad it’s mostly just missing some reverb,” then I got to the part with the Bahamut boss fight and I was like “oh no they killed that song.”

My first playthrough I missed Siren twice, once where your supposed to get her originally, the second in Ultimicea’s castle
Loved the video but quick side note, I think you forgot phoenix. You first summon it but using a phoenix pinion and once you do like odin it is a chance summon and has a chance to appear when your party gets wiped and revive everyone while doing massive fire damage.

i'll never forget my first play through when seifer attacked and the odin appearance triggered. 14year old me was like 'oooooooooooooooooooooooo snap!' I couldn't believe it could trigger on boss fights! Way to go devs! he'd make quick work of the battle. And then he charged in.... i was lost as to who gilgamesh was. Completely confused, having only played 7. I legit wanted to quit the game after losing odin, but then gilgamesh appeared and did masamune and i was like, oh dope. guess i'll keep on.

For those who is watching, I suggest you guys to postpone getting Odin and only get him in disc 4.
The reason is if you get him before disc 4, he will be permanently killed by Seifer in Disc 3 and replaced by Gilgamesh.. Gilgamesh is just soooo unreliable....

On my first playthrough my head is spinning lol. Long game I hear like 30-40 hours straight and 80ish for full complete. I've had diablos for a while. Did the whole card thing and got punishment then did some twisted junction stuff for 3k hp on all characters and 140-179 str at level 15

Fat Chocobo only appears if you maxed out Boko during Chocobo World. He replaces Boko :)

Wrong. GF Moomba and all pocketstation exclusives are still available. They were added to the item pool for Angelo Search.

None are missable except for Gilgamesh (unless you've already finished Ultimecia's Castle. Then Siren, Brothers Carbuncle, Leviathan, Pandemona, Cerberus, Alexander and Eden are also missable)
@@Leon.aka.Devil.s.D They are literally all missable. It is unlikely to actually miss them without going out of your way, but they aren't required to actually finiah the story. Compare to 10 where only 3 are not required.

I'm stuck at the last castle with only 5 GFS and all original weapons what do I do besides restart the game
If you haven't killed the boses in Ultimecia castle you can still get some of the GFs by drawing them from the bosses. You can also go back to the world map by going outside the castle and going to the middle portal. It will take you to Centra, then look around for a chocobo forest. Once you have your chocobo use the map and go to the flashing point.
The flashing point is the Ragnarok. All the cities are locked but you can still use the ship to get Odin, Tomberry, Cacteur and Bahamut.
Is better to draw eden from ultima weapon instead of tiamat, not only because of the early benefits of the junction but because eden is able to go over 9999 dmg (from tiamat will be capped). I still don't know how to make eden lvl up faster, never got it more than lvl 41/42
I've played this game three times since 99 and have never beat it. In 99 my disc four was scratched so I never even got to try it, the PS3 remastered I gave up on in Ultima castle( I couldn't win with all my power taken away) I'm playing it again...any tips on dealit with getting your power back in disc four?
Junction "pain" in your status attack and level up all your characters on "island from hell" that's what I used to do. All the best 😊

You can't get Gil without Odin, and Odin has to die for you to get Gil. Angelo isn't a summon he is Rinoa's limit break when she doesn't go sorceress. Moomba and Moogle are tied to the Chocoworld minigame that is a grind to get.
How about Chocobo?
Odin is with us
