I can see my car in the background at Sportsman’s. We were just getting back as you guys were heading out. Looks like the lake calmed down for you. Great trip
Very nice shots especially at the falls. Looks like a nice little trip route. Will have to do this one in the future. I did the matamagasi Silvester wolf area a couple years back and it was beautiful, nice exposed granite and great smallmouth fishing as well.
Thank you for your comment Derek. I hope that you enjoy this route as we did. I have not done the route that you mention above... but I will add it to the list! Cheers and thanks for watching.
Jealous! Wish I could get a group a guys committed to doing trips in the back country. I related to your story about the tripod....I did the same thing with solar panels and power banks....but I didn't have the option to go back. Awesome vid. Cheers!
Hey Puddlejumper. For sure... its never a good thing to forget stuff in the backcountry. Too bad that you were not able to loop back for your panels and banks. We live and and learn! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Hi Jay. Thanks for watching and commenting! Temagami can be addicting for sure... I hope that you make it back there for more trips. It never disappoints!
Did this trip solo in June. Beautiful route but was disappointed with the amount of garbage left at sites. Four days is leisurely, definitely could do it in three. Colin Scott and Donald Lakes are something else. Hooked into some nice Lake Trout too
Another great video. Was the Sportman's lodge the only place to park or was there public parking? I asked you a similar question in another video. I got confused. I thought that Sportsman Lodge was on Matagamasi. Ok going from the west ( I am looking at my Backroad mapbook) we have public parking on Matagamasi Lake (no lodge?) then going east we have the Sportsman Lodge on Fox Road on Kukagami Lake (is there public parking?) then going more east on Maskinonge Lake I see another canoe put in but I do not know anything about it. Do you? It looks like it is on Davis Road or Carafel Road. How do you make a fire with wet wood? I seem to have fire making problems. Maybe I do not have all the necessary tools. Not sure. I'm sorry about all the questions but I really appreciate your help.
Thank you for all your questions! I would be happy to answer them all. I’m currently in the backcountry with barely a cell signal. I will respond to your question in detail when I return later this week.
Was the Sportman's lodge the only place to park or was there public parking? -not sure, but if you are to access and the lodge you will need to park there. I asked you a similar question in another video. I got confused. I thought that Sportsman Lodge was on Matagamasi. -it is not Ok going from the west ( I am looking at my Backroad mapbook) we have public parking on Matagamasi Lake (no lodge?) - correct. Enter "Matagamasi MNR boat launch" into Waze. Drive there and park. (free bush spot) then going east we have the Sportsman Lodge on Fox Road on Kukagami Lake (is there public parking?) -correct. I did not see any within miles of the lodge then going more east on Maskinonge Lake I see another canoe put in but I do not know anything about it. Do you? It looks like it is on Davis Road or Carafel Road. -sorry, don't know. How do you make a fire with wet wood? - its a long answer and there are many ways to do it. maybe try youtube for lots of ideas. Be safe and leave no trace! Cheers.
And thank you for watching :) The map that I used was "Jeff's Map" for Temagami. You should be able to find a .pdf online. Hope you can make it out there! Cheers.
Hey what a great video! I'm planning to oaddke this route later in the year. What map did you use for thos trip? I am having quote a hard time finding one. Much appreciates in advance!
Thank you for watching and commenting. For this trip I used the Temagami Adventure Map series as well as the Temagami Adventure planning (wall) map from the Friends of Temagami. Hope that helps and that you have a great trip!
Liked your video however, some of you guy’s from southern Ontario including Camper Christina continue to call this area Temagami, you put in at the Sportsman lodge which is actually within the Sudbury city limits, Temagami is over 40 miles away to the east I know this because I live on Kukagami lake and pay my taxes to the city of Sudbury every year which is only 20 miles away, please don’t take my comment as being critical as I only mean this to be educational. The body of water between Donald and Kukagami is actually what we call the north end of Kukagami as it is attached to Kukagami by a small channel to the west. Thanks for the video I’ll check out some of the others.
Interesting. I had no idea about that. I have a copy of the FOT Adventure planning map and it includes the area that I paddled - so that is why us southern Ontario paddlers (mistakenly?) consider this area to be 'Temagami'. Without being apart of the Temagami or Sudbury tax base, it is difficult to know where one area stops and the other begins. Thank you for watching, clarifying, and commenting. Cheers!
a few friends and I are in the early stages of planning this trip for next summer, i'm getting pumped
That's fantastic! Hope that you guys have a great trip! It is a fun loop to do. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video of a fabulous portion of Temagami! We love this area and you captured it so well. Subscribed!
Amazing Jay. So glad you enjoyed. Thank you for commenting and watching! Cheers, Trevor.

After doing my first Temagami trip this year, I might have to give that route a try sometime. Nice trip guy's!

Agreed. It is always disappointing to see garbage left at sites. We ran into some ourselves. Thanks for watching and commenting!
