I believe he’s the first person to ever rep 1,000+ without straps. Not only that, the lightest person to pull 1,000+ in comp. Jamal is a different breed.
I believe you are correct, next comp should be interesting
no, the first person was Brad Castleberry
Sumo doesn't count.
@@TheStraightestWhitest u can't even leg press that
@@TheStraightestWhitest ya you’re totally right. This lift is garbage. Gtfo dude.
Eddie's 500kg is the modern version of Roger Bannister 's 4min mile. It took one person doing something no one thought possible to show other elite athletes their ceiling is the roof.
and this phenomenon will repeat itself again and again, there always has to be someone who breaks the boundaries of what was previously thought possible, not in strength areas alone but in all other aspects of life as well.
Absolutely agree 🙌
@@cx777o actually probably not. When you look at sport, the ceiling gets pushed at an inverse square curve.
If Jamal wants the *biggest* pay day of his life, and legendary status, he can spend 12 months working on conventional w/ a suit, belt & straps, and then come to a deadlift championship and pull 505 kilos. Imagine what that would generate in the world of strongman "This little guy just pulled 505!".
@@BuJammy $50k is a nice price pool for a niche sport like strongman/powerlifting, but very little for what is possible for Jamal if he grows his online presence as an influencer.
This is incredible from Jamal. Have we ever seen this before? No straps repping 1000 lbs is crazy.
Thor in prep for his 501 did it also.
Thats good company to keep.
@@shawnmichaud4484 Not without straps though.

Thats almost as much as my lateral raise! Keep going lil buddy you will get there eventually
😂
This is exactly how much I will never be able to lift.

Me: working on a 1000 lbs total
Jamal: 🙃
I mean have you ever seen Jamal squat or bench? maybe his total isn't so far from yours
@@martinshoosterman I'm just imagining him doing 2 plates on bench and 3 on squat after pulling 1000 lbs and it's kinda funny (unrealistic though).
@@martinshoosterman near 800 pound squat and 500 bench.
@@martinshoosterman 800 squat and 500 bench, fuck you mean?
He is almost reaching my numbers, I can do 1000kg for reps, can't wait to see what he does in the future :)
Pff, bruh this dude only does merely 1000lbs not 1000kgs, nowhere near your level.
@@libertyprime1614 I think you might be right...
he's far from your level mate, he should just keep dreaming
@@danieldeiparine5716 Na, I'm an alien, I'm just different
Wow, you're pretty close to my lateral raise rep weight :D
That's pretty awesome, man! Ill set that as my goal. One of the biggest things that have helped me build muscle has been a custom meal plan from Next Level Diet. I use it every week and I love it!
1003 for a double...All I can say is what an amazing fest of strength. Congratulations to Jamal.
Jamal is a monster
That's not very nice. I'm sure he has feelings.
@@Lordoftheswollen Legendary bait.
His grip has clearly improved massively.
i remember when Chris Duffin hit that crazy 2.5 rep 1002lbs deadlift. That was (and still is) an absolutely monstrous lift not to mention overall performance. However it looked like what you would expect someone trying to rep out 1000lbs to look like.
On the other hand, if you blacked out the side edges of the screen on Jamal's pulls, it looked at most like a double @ 7-8. He even had a solid hold at the top. The fact that those pulls were over the 1000lbs mark with that performance? Jamal is a total mutant. His strength is in another dimension.
His lifts look way easier, Duffield look like he was dieing and he had straps
I want to see if Danny can match this or put them next to each other in a good deadlift competition. This is going to be awesome.
I think Danny is going for 501+ next time
Danny is also like 25 pounds more I think
I want to see them both but using a stiff bar
@@chrism45 I think there is a video of him with a stiff bar. I'm sure he could pull well over 400 kg.
@@chrism45 All of your problems (and anyone elses), I can tell you how to solve them. Do it yourself. Until then, what you see is what you get. And it's amazing. Let's leave the "he's cheating", "he's using chalk", "it's sumo", "it's a stuff bar" comments for the bumstead stans (Which I guess since the range of motion for deads is shortened slightly, its cheating but I guess steroids... which is an actual shortcut and barrier breaker... isn't a problem for cbum but hey "hEs tHe GoAt")
Great job repping my 20 RPM side lateral raise brother. Keep your head up and stay consistent you will progress too!
Jamal still getting those newbie gainz
Fr
I just can’t believe it. There’s no way he was able to hold 500kgs like that. Absolutely insane strength. Literally unbelievable.
That's 455 kilos there, 1003 pounds according to someone else who counted the lbs.
i am 50 and i want to be like Jamal when i grow up
Jamal is approx 110kg, this is bit more than 4x times his freaking body weight, most of us here cannot do 3x times body weight deadlift, and still mentioning "it's sumo"?
His conventional is 430 kg, that's nearly 4x times of body weight as well. Jamal is dedicated to his work and as powerlifting community we should cheer up for another record and work even harder to achieve our personal goals
3x is bloody amazing. Most of us casual lifters can't do 2x!
Different breed! That’s a true Sumo deadlift and raw strength! 🔥
Not one of these doing the Splits Deadlift w/ the bar moving 2inches while looking like a yoga instructor!! 😅
“You people know who you are!”😅
Blowing records out of the water
With his grip issues fixed Jamal is going to set some crazy records!
bro the form is what impressed me the most, honestly makes me believe in myself much more
im just starting off and my grip gives out on 226K, how the heck is this man doing this, big ups to Jamal
hook grip.
@@gamefreak173 thanks I'll give it a try
In a week? I'll have what he is having!Great job!
he nearly beated my 1100 lbs lateral raises but props to him for trying. never give up jamal!
So proud of him for being able to deadlift my Skull Crusher Warmup 👏🏽👏🏽
I knew it was a Jamal video just from the title 🥸
Hook grip is goated
I hope he gets an invite to the deadlift world championships this coming year
I would like to see Brian Shaw do a grip strength comp with him.
Worlds strongest thumb
Brian Shaw would lose that one I think
It's just hookgrip, learn it son
@@sdb8903 10/10 for observation kid.
I imagine Brian's grip strength is stronger...but Jamal's ability to ignore the discomfort while using hook-grip is insane. I use it whenever I'm maxing deadlift/snatch/clean&jerk; It makes gripping the bar not even a factor that crosses my mind. Everyone should learn it. I'll also never touch weights close to this guy though.
I don’t think grip strength has been an issue for quite a few months now, if you remember at the American pro he failed his final deadlift by missing lockout, but he managed to hold it the whole time
Imagine having a grip for 1000lbs thats mad💀
technically it's about 500lbs per hand
Just shows us all anything is possible when we put our minds to it,he's defo listening to Chuck Norris on those headphones
Can we just take a moment to appreciate that he didn't use straps. God dawm. That is impressive. (Even for a hook grip)
Bro no strapssssss , BEASTTTT
A triple was absolutely in the tank. Jamal is sincerely impressive, I think he is my personal favorite person to watch deadlift
Insane, probably the best deadlifter to ever live p4p
grigs solos
his actual deadlift is about 910 pounds, he can only pull over 1k in sumo
The amount of bend on that bar....
What a beast, inspirational
the crazies part is the grip
I LOVE THE ERA WHEN 1000LBS IS SUPPOSE TO BE A MASSIVE MILESTONE
Crazy to see someone almost beat my lateral raise PR
Oh great this channel turned into a Jamal browner fan channel... again
Not complaining... Give me more Jamal videos!!!!
Ha
I’m very proud of this young lad
Everyone starts somewhere
As of myself I do leaning lateral raises with my Semi truck
This dude is a BEAST, when i saw him at Larry Wheels channel i was like😮
Hmmm looks like he DOES use some kind of strap. Maybe the quick release. He has something around both wrists and during lift, you can see those straps are being pulled down. Still incredible lifts and seems like a minimal strap.
those were bracelets that he was wearing, as he is taking his belt off coming towards the camera you can see. This was just an amazing feat of strength.
@@Slvrdrgn77d You ARE correct! I watched again and it appears the bracelets drag against his thighs pulling them down.
@@Getmoreonlinereviews It's just amazing, how 1000 was the ultimate unreachable, not a non-strongman person has done it. now his 2RM is 1003, (my platoon in Boot Camp)
@@Slvrdrgn77d I'm sure with today's drugs many of the greats from the past that pulled around 900 would be over 1,000. A few 900's and many upper 800's with "primitive" PEDS compared to today.
Pfft that's my warm-up it's okay lil man one day will reach my peak in highschool.
Jamal does not lift the bar up. He pushes the world down.
Dude is lifting that shit without any sweat Holy fuck
thousand pound opener is a crazy thought
Are we not going to talk about how he is HOOK GRIPPING 1000lbs. His thumbs are holding 1000lbs. Insane!
You should do it in a competition. .
holy fuck that was fast
What in the entire f word! Pulled that for 2 and no straps! This is incredible!
Does he use a hook grip with his thumb to deadlift or does he just grab it straight raw?
For the double!
Those quads are meaty
Holy FARK!!!!
Dude is an alien!!!!
007
Halotest will do that to someone with an alrdy strong base. He's about to go Hancock and shock the world
This guy caught up to me. I better step it up
offended there was no subscriber highlight video
Imagine how good he'd be at helping you move furniture
STRONG A.F. !!!!!!!
The fact that he did this strapless is more impressive to me 🤯
1003 pounds for a smooth double with no straps....just let that sink in! 🤯
and his stance isn't even crazy wide. this is actually human history
Does anyone know if those bands on his wrists are supportive gear? Curious about if/how those can be used to improve grip
crazy technique. His hips are basically doing all the lifting with how low he can get them
Am I the only one who never sees the “suggested videos displayed on the screen right now?” They are always two black boxes
Goat Deadlifter
Could you imagine him shaking your hand as hard as he could??? He would break every bone in your hand 😂😂
He does have something around each wrist, but they look too thin to be straps. Has he ever used a stiff bar or pulled conventional? Not shit-stirring, just wondering (and how it would compare).
A double with 1000 lbs is absolutely insanity! Just built different.
My favorite DL will always be Benni’s 460, mainly for the theatrics, but this is getting absolutely insane.
Just keep in mind that Benny did that with uncalibrated plates and nobody weighed them so we can't be sure of exactly how much he pulled
the theatics of eddie's 500 not enough? lool
@@Matthew-qu2yd nobody is more theatrical than Eddie 🙄
@@mrdune5479 my point exactly 😂😂
@@mrdune5479 regardless of your thoughts on eddie hall, him betting on himself that he can hit 500 in a years time, adding 35kg onto the deadlift record is incredible and you can’t say it’s less theatrical than benny lol
Jamal is a monster! No straps, 1,003lbs for a double? Insane, no telling how high this young mans ceiling is
Almost as much as my tricep extension 1rm pr.
I could never fathom holding 1000lbs in my hands, let alone lift it
do some heavy rack pulls and youll be able to pull 1k in a few weeks
If he doesn't have straps.. what is on his wrists and why do they pull down when he lifts?
Eddie Hall did a more conventional stance deadlifting, I'm not discrediting this lifter, he is amazing, but to say that he doing sumo and comparing it to eddie isn't fair.
That’s honestly crazy
Rookie numbers

Can I have what he's eating... Damn!
wtf... this man is a monster
Jamaal is looking massive in this clip. Not sure what his bodyweight is at but he seems to be at least 10kg heavier than last time he competed.
Jamals thumbs have tiny hooks in them
about 135 conventional
How strong does your grip have to be to do this that’s absurd does he hook grip?
Double overhand, bro
That bar needs more whip
I’m waiting for the people saying. “But he does sumo” like they can do that😅
genuinely crazy
Sumo deadlift doesn’t count. Everybody knows that.
whats that thing hes wearing around his wrist?
Dont shake hands with that grip !
Big difference between 1000 lbs sumo vs 1000 lbs conventional
Wait so I saw eddie hit thousand pound deadlift and hafthor hitting it a little more but this guy can rep it out that's crazy. So what was the difference in weight between this guy in hafthor deadlift pr?
Stop comparing it to Hafthor and Eddie's lifts. That's like comparing a leg press to a bicep curl. Sumo doesn't count. It isn't a legit deadlift. It's literally outlawed in the ultimate strength sport, Strongman.
@@TheStraightestWhitest he can pull your Total on conventional, stfu.
@@TheStraightestWhitest I could just as well say strongman deadlift doesn't count because they are using a deadlift suit, straps, hitching and ramping.
@@ManneSegerlund Nice fallacy, but no. There's a clear separation between raw, raw with straps, and equipped lifts. Every single bit of equipment creates its own category specifically in acknowledgement of the fact that it can make the pull easier.
Also, hitching and ramping does literally nothing to decrease ROM or anything. You still need to pull it and pull it conventional. You get zero strength or ROM benefits.
If everybody lifting a thousand pounds was doing it on a stiff bar with conventional or any other deadlift form that actually uses the posterior chain instead of just the legs then I don't think that thousand pounds is going to be looking at funny anymore LOL still crazy impressive there's got to be something in that water that's causing people to be two or three times stronger than they actually should LOL
