- How much money do hockey players actually make? Its a good question because there are many leagues in hockey. From the OHL, QMJHL, WHL, College hockey, ECHL, AHL, to the NHL there is vastly different amount of money being paid to players. NHL players, like Connor McDavid and Alex Ovechkin, are earning a very large amount of money especially with sponsorships and performance bonuses. But players in Juniors like Connor Bedard are making no salary from their team. With the introduction of NIL deals the amount that college players are making is changing rapidly. Let me know what you think will happen with college and juniors pay moving forwards.
