Great video and patience with process but want to know if I wanted to print on 11x17 which of the rollers would I remove would it be same ones you removed?
Thank you so much for showing us the conversion it would be nice if you could put a clip of how you took out the front rollers not only the piece pizza Wheels thank you
I couldn’t get the camera a the right angle to show it. I tried to record it but all the was show was my hands. There’s just not enough room inside to get a clear shot.
I already converted mine 1400 to dtf thanks to your video I’m having problems with acrorip 10.5 prints colors nicely but can’t get the white to print I put the checks on them 2 boxes color + white and the other one 100% white over color still no white I’m missing a step ?
Do you have any actual prints that were made from this that have been applied to a garment? What is the wash and wear like what is the print quality like compared to an official commercial printer?
I might have missed it in the video, but I read you have to change some chip to convert. Is this not true for this printer? Just got one today and want to convert it. Also, I see in the link that they have UV dtf ink. Is that for shirts and signs and things? I thought it was 2 different things so was trying to decide which route to take since I already have an ET15000 converted to sublimation for shirts, but love being able to apply the dtf to any fabric. Thanks for the great video too!
Hi Jason, I recently bought a 1400 epson and sat around for a few months. I will follow your video tutorial. ANY TIPS for acro rip settings. I have 10.5 and do i need a WIC reset in the future? I have all the necessary things to stary dtf.
Nice video. Like watching pbs this old house but technology version. Anyways, do you know what cleaning cartridge to get for this epson 1400? I have this and been sitting around for about year or two.
Can you comment on the need to shake the white ink please? You have the ciss reservoir, the cartridge and the lines (tubes). Can you describe the process to shake all of them, or if necessary. I can picture the tank and the cartridge, but won't the ink settle in the lines as well? thanks
The issue with the white ink is it will separate from the components it’s made of, so you need to shake it to keep it mixed well. When it’s six for a long period of time you’ll have all the pigment settle on the bottom where the ink is drawn up through the system and it will cause a clog instantly. It’s recommended when you first start your printer in the morning to shake your cartridges and perform a regular head cleaning to flush the lines. Also you want to maintain good humidity and temperature control wherever the printer is stored.
Great video how does only two white cartridges do on a black T-shirt will it cover and be opaque and is that San Diego shirt you're wearing a DTF shirt thanks in advance
Two cartridges is sufficient, it will print a little slower because it will beed to make more passes to get the right coverage. Yes the shirt was printed with DTF. Come over and join the Facebook group. There’s a lot of great folks in there sharing knowledge and showing off their work.
@@SouthbayCreations I had a photo stylus 1400 then I got rid of a few months ago should I have kept that one and converted it or would I be better off with one of these that you showcase
Hey man great video, So I have a 1400 that I use with accurip all black for my film but I also have a 4880 for film I would like to convert the 1400. Are you available to chat if I run into problems? again good work on the video.
Thank you so much for sharing this... I have the same exact printer and I had installed the ciss system on it for screen printing purposes a few years back.. I am here because I now want to convert it to sublimation ink... I have a question.. I noticed you eliminated two middle colors and replaced them with white sublimation ink .. how is that going to work? will you be able to print full color photos just like dye ink? I really need to know before I order the inks from that website you recommended. Thank you .. your tutorial was super awesome by the way. Last thing .. will I be able to print super dark black on film positive for screen printing? its what I use the printer for the most!
It’s not quite the same, it’s similar. The R1900 has 8 ink channels and the 1400 only has 6. Also the R1900 is much faster than the 1400. The R1900 is a fantastic printer, it’s one of the fastest out there but the down fall is if you need to replace the printhead it would be better to trash the whole printer and find another used one. The heads are crazy expensive for that model. The 1400 heads are much more economical but they print very slow.
I requested to join the fb page but still waiting on approval. Which is the best rip software for the epson stylus photo 1400? I’m confused by the software and want to get the best one

The ink isn’t for sublimation, it’s a special ink for DTF, Direct to Film. Sublimation ink has no white ink available.
