I think, in general, covid made an impact on how we communicate especially for people in countries that were in lock down for long periods of time. We had to adapt to getting things done in both our personal and professional life. A certain percentage of people found that they preferred to work from home, home schooling their children, getting groceries and just about anything else for that matter delivered, having more family time etc. The other reason could just be that life goes by fast and we have to use our time wisely. I could be completely wrong but your comment made me think about why this is happening. 😊
The prosthetic ear is unbelievable. I appreciate and respect a surgeon who is open to a noninvasive treatment. It looks absolutely amazing. I am so impressed.
i agree, but.. my eyes can clearly see its placed too far back and a little low.. i know its still amazing for him but cant we place it a little better? *edit* ok i watched more, looks like it was only put on wrong the very first time, afterwards was better
these two get paid either way due to being TV doctors so... but yes the prosthesis looks great and it's a shame that in America they usually charge so much that most people can't get them

Funny how when it happens to a man they call it urgent, but a surgeon refused to operate on my umbilical hernia because, and I quote, “when you get pregnant, it will come back.” 8 years later, I still don’t have children, but I still have pain.
thats messed up. i highly recommend seeing a new doctor about it, and if they refuse to offer surgery, insist that they record their refusal and reason why.
Almost as good as my doctor saying we arent sure if its breast canccer (I lost 30kg and one side was over 2 cup sizes bigger), but it would be better and quicker to give up a boob job
Go to another doctor, doctor shopping is there for a reason. I went though about a dozen gastroenterologists over a decade for my digestion problems, some of them were dismissive, some unqualified, some helped only with one aspect or were mistaken, and said that improvement I've had was enough. etc. Hernia is urgent matter for any normal doctor
That's a wild excuse to not perform a surgery on someone who needs it. I had a fairly minor umbilical hernia as a kid that resolved itself. I think that happened around 4 years old. I've carried two pregnancies past term, and my hernia never returned. I'd think the chances of everything being fine would be higher with surgery. If not, just redo the surgery if needed. Also, can doctors stop seeing our bodies as incubators?

I watch this show a lot and it's really mostly to see these two interact. While I love their work, I love their relationship. And as for Charlie? How adorable and sweet is he? I am so happy for him.
Charlie is an absolute sweetheart! I love how soft-spoken he is; seems like a very positive and gentle man. (Doesn't hurt that he's so handsome, too!) Robert's work is magical; Charlie's ear looks completely natural. I only wish there was some way to give him hearing on that side, but he certainly seems to do well even without it. For a bit of trivia, here's a (sort of) little-known fact: Paul Stanley of Kiss also had microtia, and was born without a right ear. He had reconstructive surgery in 1982, at the age of 30.
Wonderful for Charlie, and his talent despite of his condition, reminds me of Paul Stanley of the rock band KISS who was born with a Microtia of one ear and was able to overcome his deformity despite only hearing in one ear to become the songwriter Rock Star he is, amazing

I have a sister with goldenhaar syndrome. She had an extra growth removed from her right ear as an infant, a corneal transplant in one eye as a toddler, but for the most part she was incredibly lucky. She does have a concave breastbone that has caused her some heart issues that are continually monitored. She finished college last month and is now working as an RN in an ICU. We are all so incredibly proud of her. She had a rough start in life, compared to her twin brother who wasn’t affected, but she’s blossomed.

looks to me like Dr Paul had lipo and a possible breast tissue reduction...at least of his left breast (see surgical markings on his chest when checked into the clinic after EKG and left breast (scar or new incision) @14:10 and post op chest and belly wrap @16:30, we don't wrap post hernia surgery... they seem to have skipped over all of this during the discussion :)

Oh wow! Paul has the same thing I do. Umbilical and epigastric hernias. In addition I have a fully involved hiatal hernia. I am getting scheduled for all three to be fixed in the same surgery if possible. Won't know until the surgeon is in there. Yep I'm nervous. Mine are all being done robotically, though.

I've seen some people have prosthetic ears that attach to dermal magnets, extremely quick and easy to place. I wonder why they didn't take that approach?

The thumbnail showed before and after so I thought they were going to open his ear and he’d hear for the first time. I assume with his condition the inner ear also didn’t form? Either way it looks amazing. Crazy what technology can do!! He looks so happy and I don’t blame him!!
When you have a disability from birth or or as a baby, you learn to adapt and usually you do not miss what you never had. I am 90% paralyzed from an illness I had at three and a half months. Although I wear a leg brace on my left leg and I do not have the use of my left hand, I am an avid square dancer and I can tie my shoes with one hand. It does not bother me that I am different.

i agree, but.. my eyes can clearly see its placed too far back and a little low.. i know its still amazing for him but cant we place it a little better?*edit* ok i watched more, looks like it was only put on wrong the very first time, afterwards was better

When you have a disability from birth or or as a baby, you learn to adapt and usually you do not miss what you never had. I am 90% paralyzed from an illness I had at three and a half months. Although I wear a leg brace on my left leg and I do not have the use of my left hand, I am an avid square dancer and I can tie my shoes with one hand. It does not bother me that I am different.
Those 2 Drs are so funny. When I first watched the show years ago I really didn't know that they liked each other so it is good to know that they're friends
