I bought an insane number of these this year. 2 standards, a classic a classic worn and a smokehouse burst studio. I just ordered another classic. I think they just did such a great job on these this year. The studio was the least expensive and may be my favorite. They are really beautiful guitars and the sound great. Thanks for the straightforward review.
Im glad Im not the only person lmfao! I bought a 59 standard outfit, and now im looking at a Classic right now and then I want the Custom in alpine white!
The front is a maple top (not veneer), the BACK is veneer to hide the sections they glued together (not a solid block). Still cool! Waiting for mine today which is out for delivery right now!
The top isn't actually a veneer, if you take the back pickup out you'll see it's a full maple cap. The veneers are in the flame tops. The 2020 line is a great improvement over the previous years. Looking to get a honeyburst classic myself. That neck looks amazing though.
I just got one and mine is not that heavy. 4 kg/ 8.8184905 Pounds. Mine was flawless only the frets where so raw i did need to put some work in it to get them smooth. This is real bad but i do know how to polisch them and in some time you get them perfect, gladly al the frets are level. ua-cam.com/video/HKEi8TQSTs8/v-deo.html
Hey Axe! Thanks for your review! I've watched several review videos about that Epiphone Les Paul Classic model and, unanimously, every reviewer shows their satisfaction with that guitar. Your enthusiasm about it is enough for me to believe that you are talking about a really great guitar! I'm definitely thinking about getting that guitar for myself! Thanks again for this cool video!
I went to Guitar Center today, not really expecting to buy a guitar. I go every so often just to browse. maybe get some strings. As i was browsing I noticed this Honeyburst Epiphone Classic. I had always wanted to try one but my local G.C. never had one in stock. I picked it up and couldn't believe how much better this guitar is than Epiphones of the past. The top is damn close to a Gibson top. The old Epiphone honeybursts had a really ugly mustard yellow type top that was just horrible to look at. Once I really started looking it over it continued to amaze me. The action was low and without buzzing. There wasn't a sharp fret to be found. The intonation was spot on. This thing had been set-up with a lot of attention to detail. The high and low e strings were the same distance from the edge of the fretboard. This thing is built with more quality than most of the Gibsons in the store. I bought it and once I got it home I was surprised at how hot the alnico pickups are in this thing. Quite a bit more gain than the Slash alnicos in some of my other guitars. This thing looks sounds and plays so much better than other Epiphones i own. Maybe I just got an exceptional example, but if they are all this good Epiphone is going to sell a ton of these.
Hello! Thanks for stopping by. I'm not surprised your happy with the guitar. I guarantee you all these Epiphones are LEGIT. Your going to have a hard time putting it down. It legit plays like a Gibson USA. Maybe even better! LOL. 👍
@@axeslinger The more I look at this thing, the more the quality amazes me. I was looking at the tone and volume control cover on the back, and it is cut so precisely that there is no gap between the cover and the body. This wasn’t just thrown together. Whomever built this one was definitely paying attention. You’re right it does legit play as good as my actual Gibsons. This thing thing was 500 bucks I gladly would have paid 1000.
Go to nearest music store to grab epi classic in vintage cherry sunburst but at the end i grab the honeyburst.see it in person im more into the honeyburst than the cherry sunburst.
Dude, excelente video! Its so hard to find reviews on gear NOT made by snobs. Being a designer myself and an owner of several Gibsons I also like that new headstock a lot! In fact, just as much as the Gibson honestly. And that Honey Burst plain top finish.. wow! Well anyways, cheers from Costa Rica! Keep it up man :-)
Absolutely going to get that worn purple finish of this. Seems like a wonderful guitar and will be a nice upgrade from my affinity jazzmaster. Also getting a better amp, nothing too special, just enough for a teenage bedroom guitarist. I’m not rly prepared for the stage... yet.
Since finding out these Epiphone LP Classics have solid non veneer tops I am going to buy one. Cherry Sunburst YESS!! The old so called "ugly headstocks" were never an issue for me,I didnt think that they were that hideous. Also,if the headstock does its job, which to me is eliminating the need for string trees, then its all good. ( Example,my Fender style guitars have staggered tuners, some have angled heads, so no need for the trees.) I have seen these at different weights, some weighing just a shade under 8lbs. Had quite a few back surgeries so the weight is impportant.😎🤟🤟😎
@@axeslinger also I love the slim taper necks--small hands and short fingers.I played an epiphone SG with P-90 pickups at a pawn shop and I just went to town it. tge neck was amazing, just felt perfect.by the way the video was excellent.👍👍

@@kimikhuzaimi9402 the difference us the neck profile. 50s will have thicker neck. I prefer the 60s slimmer profile neck. Its depends on what you like.

Hi. Thanks for checking out my channel. The sg ebony is great. Amazing guitar for the price. But I love a thicker body. However the sg ebony is great for blues and rock.
Hey Axe Slinger, I enjoyed your review. I have been eyeing this guitar recently and will probably pull the trigger and buy one soon. I do notice though that the model you have does not have a pick guard. Did you remove it or requested a specific one without a guard ? All the ones I have seen comes with the beige coloured guard. Thx.
This model has the pickguard however I removed it. I personally don't like the pickguard. Gets in the way of my picking style. If you can find this guitar BUY IT. It's a incredible value. Thanks for stopping by! 💯
I find the distortion tone too heavy or more suited towards metal ... does this play classsic rock as good as the epiphone standard if you use the tone knobs ? Confused if I should go for the classic or the standard. I dont want a heavy metal tone since I already own an ESP with EMG pickups
This guitar plays classic rock PERFECTLY. My time is heavier then most people would use on this type of Les Paul. The tone knobs work great for rolling back the tone. I would get the classic over standard! The classic plays and sounds better as well. It's as close you can get to a Gibson. 💯
@@axeslinger thanks.love this guitar had it a year ago.in ebony but the color just wasnt me so i sold it. But needed it back.
