Pineda is a great replacement for Steve Perry; his singing voice parallels Perry's style and vocal quality remarkably well. Still, there's only one Steve Perry and he will always be loved and missed as the voice of Journey.

My meaning was not so much that Pineda was the direct successor as Journey's lead vocalist, but that he was Perry's replacement at the time of this performance. Steve Perry made such a powerful impression on those of us who were enjoying Journey back in the band's early years that it really doesn't matter who or how many vocalists Journey goes through, they will all be replacements for Steve. Listen to Steve sing this song, he along with Jonathan Cain wrote this song(and I'm sure by now you have). Jonathan wrote it for his then wife. Neal initially didn't like the song, he wondered where his guitar would fit in, but Neal can write his guitar sound like magic in any song, just like Steve can sing anything. anyway, when they played it live the fans went crazy, and Neal said something like "man this song kicked ass". It's a favorite of most Journey fans!
