Great video, didn’t know this was possible and now I have cruise control on my 2015 Trafic! Had to spend £50 on a new squib though as I damaged the air bag connection whilst removing the old steering wheel, nightmare! £300 overall and now I’ve got cruise control, thanks again!

I'm currently adding the CC on a Sandero 2. It's the electronic of a Clio IV and so very close to yours. Same push button and configuration as here.
Sadly, the default rotor spring lacks the CC cable so I just bought one. I tried to Enable CC without it (just to know if the car would accept it) but the steering wheel button state is "Open Circuit", therefore the ECM doesn't permit the CC option to be activated, make sense, 5v and 0v are considered "Open Circuit" by the ECM, apparently the 4v value is required to enable the CC option.
When I will finally plug the steering wheel I will give my feedback to help future people ;)

I use for my 2015 Vivaro a kit from Precision Cruise Control and is working perfect easy to install no need for code changing.

If the vehicle is equipped with start stop ,you will have for sure 2 clutch switches.The clip for this newer model is useless to activate something,because all the configuration will be made online with a configuration file specific for the options from factory.The bad part is,if they replace the ecu or instrument cluster at renault it will be configured without cc/sl.Very nice video ;) keep up the good work

Hi My friend you did call it right !! . Changed the clock spring and my check cruise control and check speed limiter fault has gone and the orange and green lights have returned to my dash . Replacement part was not cheap but all now working thank you so so much for your help.

@@danielnilsson6484 hi yes you will need the clock spring from a van or captur that has cruise control as it has more contacts in it that are required for it to work . Check out your local vehicle breaking yard as much cheaper than buying new .

Great stuff alot of vehicles have the wiring behind blank buttons. I think is saves the manufacturer money. I wiring loom for all .

It looks like renault have taken a leaf out of fords book by having pre wired the van/car great work as always buddy
back in the 80s i had a base model skoda, didnt have door switches for the lights, no side mirror, no rev counter, went to a scrapyard (and it got out again lol) took some bits off another car, all the wiring and screwholes already to go, my old fiesta had the wiring and the rear speakers, i could have upgraded the stereo easily too

Hi, i installed the original stearing wheel and speed limiter bottom switch.
in the video where you talking about renolink you where mentioned the crouse control worked perfekly whithout showing it.

Nice to see you get it working. I have a question - my 2010 Renault Kangoo is rather basic, but has the CC wiring (plugs and CC switch on clutch)
Looks like all your coding efforts were not to get the Cruise Control working but to display it correctly on the dashboard, am I right?
[edit:] never mind - on other comments I read that I need to do some tricks on the OBD plug in order to get it to work, just wiring and switches are not enough.
Will have to find a Renault shop that is willing to do this, probably hard to find. And also, my airbag warning light keeps on - need a new clock spring for that. Will order one on ebay

Any idea on how to enable retrofit cruise control on laguna III? I've been fighting with it for hours. Enabled cc with renolink in instrumentcluster.
I done few of the cruise control installations,mostly all on Renault,older models from 2001-2009 would need clock spring to be changed since they would not have connector in clock spring for the buttons,and some of the later models would not need activation over Clip,but they would require additional switch on the clutch and the clock spring,and most of them were all prewired,Can Clip can activate Cruise control on newer models but it requires a newer version of Clip,for Renault Clio 2014 I was using v174,and it was under UCH/Write configuration,and simply just switch that to With Cruise control,after clicking on confirm in the Clip everything was working just fine.
I confess I am running a lower version of clip as well, need to get that updated as well...

Did you do any install on cars without the switch being prewired? My Twingo for some reason comes without it, already have a steering wheel with buttons and I’d be able to get a clock spring easily

Good information in this video!! I have a problem with a cluster showing 0% adblue when it is full. Do you know if renolink can remove the adblue percentage from the menu in the cluster? Many thanks

I'm about to do the same on my Trafic 2015 9-seater, also prewired. DDT4ALL is The program you need to activate CC and other things on Renault.
Clip does quite a lot... for the more intrinsic things, I use renolink...

Hi Johnny, Do you know if it is possible to use DDT4ALL for activating CC on Dacia also? I have a Logan and the parts look the same as in this video, but it don't know the right code for CC in the program for my car

Possibly... but I have a feeling that will be more to it... I believe that the starter motor for cars with start and stop are different.... plus the extra capacitor for it... I am sure it can be done, but probably not worth the investment...

Great video! Very informative. I have question please. My 2016 Trafic has the factory installed CC and speed limiter but is not working. Whenever I try to engage either function I get a "Check Cruise Control" or "Check Speed Limiter" message on the instrument cluster. I've replaced the clutch switch but still no change. Any idea what the problem could be?

Hi. I have done this same retrofit cruise control into my Renault Trafic 2017. 1.6dci. But unfortunately it doesn't work prior to coding. I had it plugged onto diagnostic at a local garage but they were unable to turn it on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

As the adaptive cruise control relies on a radar and a camera, that you most likely don't have installed at the moment...

@@LMAutoRepairs Hi, I realized some tests on my Clio 5 yesterday, I assembled the new steering with the ACC button, I modified ABS to Activated ACC as well as in the front radar. But after this, ACC is not working even normal the cruise control is not working as well. When I diagnosed the injections by the clip I checked the voltage is around 3.8v, when I press on the buttons of ACC the voltage drops down to 10mV ≈ 0. what do you think about this ?

Hi LM, my vivaro 2017(same as your video) has the same symptoms as your Renault in which when I turn the steering wheel CC/SL comes and goes (more often goes than comes) however my fault codes are different from yours, is it still possible its the clock spring at fault? My fault codes are DF068 Speed limiter/cruise control function error. Any help Is much appreciated, would just like to know your thoughts as to if If you think I should replace the clock spring or if there’s a fault elsewhere. Thanks

Thanks to your video, I was able to activate the speed limiter function. But CC doesn't work.
I tried authorization enable by Renolink 1.87(red) at IGN ON without engine running state. I can get a response message "ACCEPED". but state goes back 'ENABLED' to 'DISABLED' while starting engine.
However, SL is already working perfectlly.
Are there any pre-condition(such as keep driver's door opened, brake, cluch pedal condition etc.) or specific sequence for 'authorization to connect cruise control and speed limiter options'

@@LMAutoRepairs hey man, changed the steering wheel with the buttons on there same as in your video, connected everything up on the wheel side of things, put the ignition on and dashboard says check vehicle, spanner light is on, headlights are on won't turn off if you move the stork, same with the wipers, and when I turn the engine off the wipers are still going, so I disconnected the battery to make that stop, any ideas,, thanks dave
Double check everything you touched... make sure everything is plugged in correctly...

@@LMAutoRepairs one thing I didn't mention, when I disconnected the horn and the airbag, I didn't disconnect the battery, but I did then disconnect the battery to connect anything back, ReConnected the battery and the dash says check vehicle and the spanner light was on, turn the engine on wipers stays on on headlamps, put the other steering wheel back on but things are still the same,
You must have disturbed something... double check connections etc...
Scan the vehicle if you can...

Hi, very good video, my van is a 2016 model just a quick question , is there two different clutch pedal switches, i had my van in with vauxhall and they said that they tried everything but it wouldn’t work and had to be coded at the factory, i am quick to think its a load of faeces, because the dealer had sold the van with cruise control but once i got the van it didnt have it so they said they would add it to the van free of charge, everything seems to be fitted and the speed limiter is alarming at 75mph on the motorways in the south of ireland! I will be opening up the dash to see if they are plugged in, and am looking into what software can code the van incase thats all it needs
Also wanted to note that i used to get near 40mpg and then they recalled the van for the knock sensor software update and now im lucky to get 32mph just wondering if there is a correlation between the two!

Thanks for the reply, i got the van at a very good reduced price as it was a demo and only had 5425 miles on it and if im honest i wasnt that bothered about the cruise control it was the principal of it that i said it to them, just to see their response, when they said it couldnt be done i then got free reversing sensors fitted and £500 cash back so i was a happy camper and still have the steering wheel and the cc/sl toggle switch fitted so i’m going to have a go at getting it up and running myself and worst case scenario i’ll take it to a different dealer like you suggested and get them to look at it! At least i now have a video as evidence and proof that it can be done😄! now to look into the reversing camera that you mentioned! I was not aware that they existed so for that i have to thank you again!!

During downloading software bosch ecu EDC16C34 usb cable interupted during the installation and now no starting ..it says no comunication with the ecu.How to back up or reinstall the original software? I use peugeot planet diagn. software. before downloading everything was working.. only it was over heating as it got 2 speed cooling fan and it switch on 110c. I can swith it low and high speed manual from the diagnostic but the ecu not.That I was trying to update the software and now a big problem!

If planet is not communicating, your next best option my be kess or similar, that failing, try it on the bench, once again with k-tag or similar...

Am I right in saying if the clock spring has the extra connector then it doesn't need to be changed?
I have the stop/start button where you installed the switch on the dash and the parking sensor switch where you originally tried to install it. Do you know if the cruise control switch will then be the one next to the stop/start?

I did this retrofit in my 2015 trafic , works as a dream . But at 120km/h i've got now speed warning. Annoying melody play every few minutes . How to turn this off ?
I never went above the speed limit...🤪
Joking aside, I never really tested it at those speeds, the owner never said anything... check that there is not any limits set on the cluster or ecu settings...

I have used the red cable... that's the one I bought initially... did not even know there was a blue one... probably is just the colour... everything else is the same...
I am not sure which version I was using initially... have updated a couple times since...
I am now running 1.87...
Never done it on those cars, but I assume will be similar...
Did you have to install any switches for brake and clutch? Or is it just a case of installing the steering wheel, cruise switch and coding?
You need to check, in this case all the switches where already there...
But check, as I believe some models did not came with them...

So I ended up using Renolink...

@@LMAutoRepairs we did go out on a road test whilst plugged but nothing. The speed limiter works fine. The cruise control lights all come up on the dash but the plus and minus to initiate cruise doesn’t do anything but plus and minus work on speed limiter.
The van has just a a gearbox replacement and since cruise has stopped working.

Is the gearbox is not exact the same as the old one, the gear ratios might be different...
And that can render the cruise control inoperative...

I do this as a part time...
Find someone with Renolink or visit the dealer... they shouldn't charge a lot just to code the cruise control...

thanks, just been to renault and they can't do that because cruise control is not originaly fitted I'll try buying the software and do it myslef your video is very good

Hi LMAutoRepairs, just received blue cable Renolink v1.52 from Aliexpress. But I am struggling at the beginning. Could you please share how did you manage that ECM and Dashboard in the ECU left side list? I am interested how did you set up this list since the begining. I have interface connected but cant scan any xmls from the car (Megane 3). Highier versions cant even connect interface(v 1.67). Please advise. Thanks

@@LMAutoRepairs thanks for answer, im using just mobile application PyClip, its something like renolink, when i choose Trafic III, i dont have option to find - active cruise control, when i choose some different car, for example Megane III, option to active cruise control there is, so its possible, that application cant do this action on Trafic? I will find someone wtih renolink, and try it.

So I can only guess that if the option is not there, then it can't do it...

Well... you need to open the correct XML file for the ecu you want to work with...
Usually a auto scan picks up the right file...
But I had instances when it didn't...

Any idea what issue could be in my Vivaro 2015. I already change wheel steering with cruise control buttons I contacted connectors with my existing clock spring and I installed same Cruise Control switch unfortunately when I started to drive the cruise control doesn't work. @@LMAutoRepairs I have DTC056415 showing and I think it either 12 volt missing or shorted . If I switch on to cruise I get the message check cruise control . No lights show on the dash in green or yellow . If switch to speed limit, I get the message check speed limiter and the same no lights on the dash green or yellow . Just wonder if any body has any ideas could it be a fuse ? But no fuse listed in the hand book .

Check live data... you might have the same problem as I had on this one, as explained in the video... and on the other video for this... link in the description...
@@LMAutoRepairs it’s not a retro fit . The van is the sport model and came with CC & SL but for some reason has stopped working . I have only had the van a week and only found out about the problem when I took it on its first long journey.
It doesn't matter if it a retrofit or an original from factory... it still has a clock spring that can fail...
