Very good video. It would be awesome if you could make a video about reverb, maybe delay too on vocals. I've never really understood how to properly apply reverb to vocals and how more experienced producers get such a nice sound. Keep it up bro.
Hello, I have a behringer b1 microphone and I cannot get the sound I want. I was making songs about 7-8 years ago and their quality was enough for me. Now I bought B1 again, thinking that I could do the mix mastering better. The sounds don't come out the way I want. I don't understand why better recordings were made in the past or why I can't make a better sound now. Do you think it will affect the room acoustics? My old room was smaller and filled with more stuff. If the microphone is not good enough, you can also say that. My latest videos also contain songs. The songs named Shelby belong to me. Thank you.
All other videos I've seen say the attack should be fast. I'll have to try medium attack next time. Also didn't think of putting second EQ after the compressor. Good stuff!
Wait, I'm confused, at 5:42 you said leave the compressor on a "faster release" but then you left the dial at 7? is seven a faster release than one then? as I thought that one was the fastest? Also further on when you was mixing the vocal wav the wav vocal looked clipped, was that just because you could have expanded the channel more? Great video though.
On an 1176 compressor, 1 is slowest and 7 is fastest, yes! It's a bit counterintuitive that way. Later in the video the vocal waveform view was just larger, it hasn't changed in amplitude from before, it's the same waveform just zoomed in to show the little details in between the words. The zooming in kind of looks like clipping because it zooms the visual in to where the waveform can't be seen beyond the borders of the track! Hope that helps :)
@@Bradleybrookwoodit’s a dynamic mic, so it doesn’t have the same initial transient detail as a condenser. But you can bring out the detail surprisingly well with processing after. It delivers great quality, and you’ll probably just need to EQ it to fit your scenario

Thank you so much! Absolutely, I'll be happy to do that, stay tuned :)

Thanks so much! Glad you liked it! Certainly try both and see what sounds best to you :)

AMAZING!
BRAVO!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
I have the SM7DB microphone. Is that a good microphone for pop vocals?
Absolutely! It’s a great mic!! Add a little bit of the Fresh Air plugin in your chain to brighten ht up for the pop sound since it’s a dynamic mic 👍
@@audioedges does that microphone have a pretty balance sound? I don't like a lot of bass or muddiness in my vocals

Why are you afriad of calling the video 7 steps ?😂
