Your house is AMAZING!!!! Well designed and thought out. The only thing I would change on this house, would be installing glass doors on all of the showers. I don't like the cold air blowing on my cheeks when I'm in the hot water 😂😂.
That was definitely something we were considering, but honestly it doesn't feel cold, the ease of moving in and out of the shower is really nice and something I like more than I expected

The only draw and I mean the only draw back is that the fridge and freezer is blocking the shelf space in the pantry. Lol it would drive me insane other than that this is one of the best or flyiest builds I’ve seen. Congrats to you! 🔥

I designed it myself, but I don't recommend the GC I used. They weren't very unprofessional and came in way over budget and behind schedule. But if you are looking to build in the Denton or north DFW area, let me know.
Debatable... Lots of things they were supposed to do and didn't. And the quality isn't great, several things already needing to be fixed or completed properly since they weren't done well.
As it is a nice home it's more like a house with a barn attached to it. I here custom a lot. Custom doesn't come from Home depot, Floor and décor and Ikea. Again, nice home so I'm not trying to rain on your parade. I'm sure you guys busted your butt to make it happen. So my hats off to you.
Thanks! I just meant we designed it ourselves. I could hardly afford it with home depot finishes, I couldn't imagine how much a true custom build would cost
Really beautiful home. Love all the windows. Front door is small. Double doors would have been better. Pantry is not styled right. If you’re putting an extra fridge, freezer in it should be in a spot that doesn’t block the shelves. Should have brought the backsplash all the way up. Master bedroom was great. Loved that tub and shower. Laundry room with 2 washers and dryers. Smart! Should have put bathrooms in your daughter’s rooms. Shop is a great I bet it’s going to get many, many hrs of use. Enjoy your new home!!! Time to fill it with furniture, family and memories.
Thanks for all the feedback! Front door is 42" wide and 8ft tall, I think it is pretty big, just looks small because everything else is so large. We did end up moving the freezer to the shop and just keeping 1 in the pantry and it is working great. I definitely thought about taking the backspash higher but ended up deciding to keep it below the shelves.
@@straderranch thanks so much for responding? It’s just your home is so big in the video the door looks tiny. 😄 Enjoy your home 🏡 😃 And thank you for sharing and reading/responding to my comments. 🙏🏻🫶🏻

You mean what do I do? I've been in technology my whole career... Computer chips and now SaaS software, but have also done well in the stock market. But I love working with my hands, which is why we build a big barndo on 10 acres. Glad you like it and hopefully it inspired you! We put a lot of thought into it and it is working pretty well for us.
Thanks! Building a full custom home is definitely expensive. If you do more of the work yourself you can save a lot of money, but a build of this size even in materials is probably around 500k
In the Casita you could have flipped the bathroom and the bedroom and put a window in the bedroom. I really like the layout and it seems that the use of space is almost 100% which is amazing. Thanks for the video.
Ya, we were originally going to do a window in there, but decided to use that space for a closet instead. And we wanted the bathroom accessible to the main room.
A version of the plans is available here... www.etsy.com/listing/914585349/4000-sqft-barndominium-plans?ref=SellerDashboard major difference is that the island in the final build is a wrap around rather than rectangle, but most other aspects are the same.
@straderranch That's what's up I thought that maybe Texas Best might have done this job for you But if you wouldn't recommend them Must have been someone else You definitely saved the project from the looks of it Great job 👍
Hi guys, Great home, we love it!. We bought the plans on Etsy and wanted to know if you have a 2D version of the garage and house with full measurements? I could not find one after reviewing each download.
Hello, I just like to ask how many acres we need for this absolutely beautiful property. Everything is so amazing. Thank you for sharing your home with us.😊
My property is 10 acres, but the home is on about 9000sqft of concrete, so a 1/2 acre lot would probably be enough, but I would definitely recommend at least an acre
This build was about 1M including the pool and appliances, definitely more than we expected. You could definitely do it for less, but depends on finishes, if you want to GC, etc...
3 questions with this build: 1: what was the round thing in the livingroom floor? 2: How much does a build like this cost by the end of it? 3: what do you do to afford this?
I'm just going to guess about the round thing on the living room floor that it was one of those plug units that you can snap down to get it out of the way. I'd also say you would have to be very expensive to build that house wouldn't have any idea to know how much. He and his wife both have good jobs and a lot of kids in order to need six bedrooms and two laundry room appliances in all that storage and stuff
1. The round thing is a floor outlet which we wanted so we could have a small table behind the couch for speakers potentially... and we ended up with a powered set of recliners in the sofa, so it came in really handy to avoid having cords running across the floor. 2. With all appliances and the pool it was just under 1M... a lot more than I originally planned 3. I work for a great SaaS software company as a VP of Engineering Hope you enjoyed the video!
@@straderranchwow I’m glad you posted the cost it’s an eye opener for someone considering converting an existing building in a barndo my budget isn’t like yours however hubby can do some of the work. Love you home many blessings to you and your family.
Wow! I❤the bar stool seats and the hanging lights. I find barndominiums furniture and deco difficult to select -the spaces are so darn big. You have done a great job. I will most likely need a designers input -I like efficient , purposeful, and minimalistic appliences and furnishings. Btw: I have the pebble tile in my walk-in shower -I still think they were a beautiful choice -however,the stones collect calcium deposit and become dull white. I’m currently trying to scrape off the calcium scale 😅.
Awesome layout and very beautiful! only thing is I think it would of been better if you made the master #2 a jack and jill bathroom with the room next to it and then flipped the location of the other bathroom and laundry/mud room so you could scootch the other bedroom down and also make let them have a connecting bathroom, just so each room has a bathroom but besides that i wouldent change anything else
Thanks, glad you like it! I poured a lot of thought into it to fit our family and the things that are important to us (like having large gatherings of friends and family!)
Good afternoon, awesome Build. Your Barndo is very similar as far as footprint and elevation. The problem I am having is finding a Red Iron manufacture to build the two building Res/Shop connection, Who did you use? What is the out side dimensions of your buildings? Thank you for your time and the Home By Me, hook up. Mw
Ya, that roof ridge connection was definitely not something they were very experienced with and frankly they sorta hacked it together. But my whole building was custom weld-up and not a pre-manufactured building, which is why they were able to do it. The main house is 40x100 with the extra 20' patio on the end. The long patio in the back is ~8ft wide and runs the full 100' of the building. The carport is about 25x30. The shop is 60x40, but has the back 20ft carved out for office space and the loft.
Yes, I designed this build. I have the design concepts and floorplan layouts available on etsy: www.etsy.com/listing/914585349/4000-sqft-barndominium-plans you will need to work with an engineer to get your framing and foundation plans based on this plan. My barndo cost about $1M to build including the pool, appliances, etc... but it can definitely be done for less, really depends on the finishes you choose. Also, if you are looking for a builder in the Denton/DFW Texas area, let me know as I am partnered with a builder in the area to build barndos as well at other custom homes!

It was about 1M including pool and appliances. Definitely more than we expected, but a lot of the cost comes down to finishes like flooring, counters, windows, doors, etc.. where costs go up quite a bit. Also lots of big ticket items like well, driveway, pad site, etc.. all add up quickly as well. The framing and exterior which are the only things really unique to a barndo we only about 15-20% of the overall build.
Great Property! Would love to know final cost of barndominium itself, fully done. permits, concrete, foundation, structure, plumbing, electrical. I’m looking to build something similar and would live any feedback and/or advise on construction loans/finance options. Thanks!
It was about 1M including the pool and appliances. ~4800sqft of living space, 1600sqft of shop space, 1200sqft of covered patios and 800sqft of uncovered patio... It was about 100k over budget, but would probably still cost more to build it today than it did 3 years ago. If you are looking for a builder in the DFW area, let me know. I've got some good references now.
There are high level design concept plans available here: www.etsy.com/listing/914585349/4000-sqft-barndominium-plans They don't include all of the electrical and plumbing plans, but have all room dimensions and nice 3D renders.
Would love to know the names of your pebble and wall tiles in your master? It looks exactly like the tile i picked out and I love that I can see what it would actually look like together.
The wall tiles are soho Grammercy from floor and decor www.flooranddecor.com/available-in-store-only/soho-grammercy-ceramic-tile-100979814.html and the floor is black and white pebble from home depot Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing. www.homedepot.com/p/MSI-Black-and-White-Pebbles-12-in-x-12-in-x-10-mm-Tumbled-Marble-Mosaic-Tile-0-9-sq-ft-Each-THDW1-SH-PEB/100664291

@straderranch wow very nice, thanks for the reply and congrats on the house and success!
I love this so much!❤😮
Thank you!
Bro Damm a dream home!!😫
Thanks! Lots of thought and effort went into it, so I would agree, I dreamed it up!
Nice work, man! Plenty of room in that pantry for powdered Gatorade
haha faderade for days!
Beautiful home, however why did you took the ice than you put it back into icemaker not good
Ya... I realized that then had to dump all of the ice and clean the machine
This place is RAD!!!!
Thanks, glad you like it! I poured a lot of thought into it to fit our family and the things that are important to us (like having large gatherings of friends and family!)
Great home I would love to own this one. So beautifully built. Love the pool atea. Very nice thank you. What did it costs to build?. Thank you.
thank you! it was just under 1M with all the appliances... definitely way more than we expected unfortunately... who needs to retire anyway? lol
@@straderranchwow! That’s seems incredibly reasonable! Did you do most of the work yourself or did you have a GC?
Thank you - obtained one great idea.
Glad it was helpful!
So no one is going to say anything ABOUT HIM PICKING UP THE ICE WITH HIS FINGERS, AND PUTTING IT BACK IN THE TRAY. Uck!! HAHAHAHA!
Beautiful home but I too was a little disturbed by the dirty hands on the ice. I hope no one else puts that ice in their drink. 😂😅😂
Stop it!
I love house, but the dirty fingers and the ice made me cringe.
I was thinking that too and was definitely disturbed by it. Use that dang scooper and put that cube in the sink, geez.
It's his House, hello
How can I get a copy of your blueprints? That house is amazing and would work great for my family.
Very beautiful
Thank you!
Hey man! Love the build, do you happen to have the floor plan you can send?

Love the build, did you have a price what it cost and a break down
It was about 1M including pool and appliances.
Good Evening, I really like the layout of your home. Would you sell the plans of your home?
There are high level design concept plans available here: www.etsy.com/listing/914585349/4000-sqft-barndominium-plans
They don't include all of the electrical and plumbing plans, but have all room dimensions and nice 3D renders.
Beautiful
Looks nice. You might be hating the tile in master due to all he grout in that floor.
ya, we are a little worried about that, but should be easy to mop and wash down the drain hopefully!

Best one we’ve seen yet! 🤠👍
Thanks! Designed it myself!
