I kind of feel the same about HANABIE, hopefully one of there music videos go a bit viral and grabs some attention similar to Band-Maid with the thrill MV and able to grow even more from that.
I only found them a week ago and I'm already obsessed with them. I am hoping to buy their album next week and I'm making plans to get to Virginia in September to see them play live. I'm so happy they're coming to the States and I'm a little jaded towards Slipknot for not having them on Knotfest yet. This band is perfect for a festival that's supposed to be made to introduce new bands to the wider metal community. What better choice for all the summer festivals than HANABIE? I question their sincerity for such an unjust snub

Of course I'd love for them to be big all around the world, but for some reason it's hard to get people to take Japanese metal seriously. Some of the best music I've heard in the past decade has come out of Japan and I can now confidently add HANABIE to the very short list of tremendous, genre bending talent. Not every day a band can come along and command a classification uniquely their own. I don't wanna call em Kawaii metal, even though they're cute as hell, I wanna call them something else... something that says HANABIE 🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻

The west generally dont embrace non english bands unless theyre featured in a movie/tv show or pushed in the mainstream marketing. There is the general perception that weebs are the only ones that listen to Japanese bands haha. Hanabie is like a female post hardcore band imo haha Yukina is crazy can rap, scream and do cutesy voice haha

Matsuri has a very nice deep voice here. Not only singing in her high pitch voice. Sounds delicious. Then there are some fantastic layering. With an instrument and maybe also with more layers of Matsuri. Beautiful.

Yukina always gets my adrenaline flowing, the butterflies in my stomach to kick up and my heart to race. Matsuri gives me chills, has one of the best clean vocals and I especially love it when she's putting emotion into them...she's made me cry a few times and I love it. Both are so beautiful, so kawaii 🥰. Yukina is so gorgeous, when she enters a room she is immediately the most beautiful woman there. My favorite vocal duo 🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻
For a moment I felt stupid because I did not know the song. But it seems it is "only" from an animé and I do not know much about animes. And I need another moment to realize they were not that close as it appeared in the recording.. But I noted their talent instantly. You can't fool me in that.
