Wonyoung is this successful and rich because she was born to be a star. You need more then visuals to get to this level. I have watched a ton of variety shows with IZ*ONE and I always thought she was super sweet, polite, charming, and intelligent. She really does have that "it" factor.

Doesn’t come easy. In a way, it’s sort of sad because although she’s one that many would often envy/wanna be (she literally has everything) at one point, the tables were probably reversed years ago. She’s been working hard her whole childhood to get to where she is now. A good childhood is a very important part in one’s lifetime, it’s really the only time where you can enjoy being young with no responsibilities or stress. Wonyoung has always had to work hard. And now, she’s probably under constant stress, because she’s made it far, and has to keep a good reputation for herself. Unfortunately, she’s no where close to the end as she has the rest of her youth + a fresh new contract with starship left before she’s somewhat free… I’d also like to add that she’s been getting so much hate recently for absolutely nothing like I bet that has been really stressful for her. Idk if anyone remembers people pointing out her “hair loss” (possibly from stress) during her period in izone…she’s so young, and it would be so heartbreaking if the hate gets to her.

A lot of idols reduce their height on sites like kprofiles because being 5’5-5’7 is ideal, no more than that. They are not like independent artists in the west. They sign a contract with the company and agree on a salary. Most of the clothes u see them wear are rented or gifted by the companies. Airport shoots are basically a publicity stunt for idols lmao. As a person who has grown up and lived in Korea I get tired of all these comments of people who have no idea about how hard it is to make money in Korea even as a idol. BTS probably the biggest band in the last 3 years has a net worth of roughly 15-20million for each member. Let that sink in for a second. A group that has completely sold out in almost every category for the last 3 years. Also just for everyone how wants to come to Korea to pursue "idol" life. None of the expensive outfits she wears to events/appearances/on sets are owned by her or even paid for. They are borrowed for the events and returned, and have zero reflection upon whether or not she is rich. i dont wanna downplay her hardwork, but I just want to mention that her looks also got her where she is. there where people more talented than her, but her "charm" and her looks were more important in the kpop industry. she has good singing, but there were other trainees who had just as good or even better singing and there were a ton of trainees who had much better dancing skills.
tldr: wonyoung worked hard, but so did all the other trainees. the difference is her looks and just her being very charming in general. i think that is what we should stress rather than hardwork

Doesn’t come easy. In a way, it’s sort of sad because although she’s one that many would often envy/wanna be (she literally has everything) at one point, the tables were probably reversed years ago. She’s been working hard her whole childhood to get to where she is now. A good childhood is a very important part in one’s lifetime, it’s really the only time where you can enjoy being young with no responsibilities or stress. Wonyoung has always had to work hard. And now, she’s probably under constant stress, because she’s made it far, and has to keep a good reputation for herself. Unfortunately, she’s no where close to the end as she has the rest of her youth + a fresh new contract with starship left before she’s somewhat free…

They are not like independent artists in the west. They sign a contract with the company and agree on a salary. They are paid bonuses is they hit their quotes and keep a % of any brand deals they might do. The percentage they keep is maybe 5%. They know their photos will be teen hence they will wear the sponsored item at the airport. Its essentially a brand deal. As a person who has grown up and lived in Korea I get tired of all these comments of people who have no idea about how hard it is to make money in Korea even as a idol. BTS probably the biggest band in the last 3 years has a net worth of roughly 15-20million for each member. Let that sink in for a second. A group that has completely sold out in almost every category for the last 3 years. Also just for everyone how wants to come to Korea to pursue "idol" life. Don't. everyone here is depressed and you will work long hours with little rest. Korea has done a excellent job at marketing to international fans that its a great place to live and idols are living amazing lives. Its rotten to the core. I won't even get started on how many sexual assault cases happen again idols and are kept under warps. The only accurate part about this video is the rich family. Almost all tier 1 idol groups/artists come from wealth. You would be naive to think that hard work and talent will get you far in tis industry. The rabbit hole goes so deep even me- a native Korean- can't even explain it.

I've been a fan of wonyoung since pd48 and still is until today, i love and adore her so much and i hate it when people say a lot of bad things and disregard her talent and hardwork.
She's successful because she works hard. Let's accept it, IVE is not as successful as they are without her. They have good songs, that's for sure, but without her, I don't know. She boosted up the popularity that IVE is receiving right now. I'm not claiming that she made IVE successful, but I think she played a big part of it. Starship is really making more money because of her.

This is extremely misleading, and I don’t think it is helpful or supportive to wonyoung to be speculating so much. None of the expensive outfits she wears to events/appearances/on sets are owned by her or even paid for. They are borrowed for the events and returned, and have zero reflection upon whether or not she is rich. Especially being a MiuMiu ambassador, I’m sure she has access to borrow any MiuMiu item she wants at anytime- but this does not mean that she owns them all - besides gifts they give her.
