I have been collecting rifle 60+ years and own and have owned hundreds of rifles and the Sako’s have always been my favorite for hunting! The quality has always been one of their top priority’s along with accuracy and that rifle shows what you get when you do make quality rifles
The Quad Range is a holy grail. I had a chance at one on the used market and the price was more than a custom center fire build, I just couldn't see my way thru it. But I was down and out for about a week after not pulling it off I want one so bad. About as sick as I am now after watching this lol. I know this was done just to torture me.
Its a lovely gun to use, very tolerant of different brands and not as fussy as some of the others I have used. Had really good results with norma tac 22, so close in performance to the tenex and lapua the extra cost didn't justify itself. Nice to see the video from a respected youtuber! Very envious of that 100m indoor private range though. Thanks for the video.
I acquired a Lithgow LA101 laminate when they still imported them here. I also have a British Enfield which was made by Lithgow in the same Lithgow factory 99 years apart. The Lithgow, I believe, just may be be most accurate. 22lr. but its hard to tell because of its non adjustable trigger which has a 1 lb. 8 oz. pull which prevents it from being my most accurate 22lr. I have 5 CZ's, 3 Vudoos and a Ruger Competition. My Vudoo 360 is the most accurate partly credited to its 4 oz. trigger pull
I love this rifle, i have an Sako Quad Warmint heavy barrel in 22LR and 22WMR, 17HMR barrel. They all shoot’s that god and no lost of sero on barrel shange. The most accurat 22LR i know beside Sauer 200STR with 22LR converion kit, that rifle is magic.
The sako P04R quad is the successor to the very popular P94. The range has basically the same stock as the Tikka t3x sporter models. Quad range is one of the most popular rimfires here in Finland for Running moose target competitions hosted by the Hunting Union (bad translation). The biggest problem with the Sako is that there is not much after market support. Basically GRS makes a laminated sporter stock for it, but other wise you will have to have a smith inlet a blank. I know one dude who made a krg back bone from scratch aluminum on a manual lathe so he can use his krg bravo stock on the Quad. Also the 10 round mag has some feeding issues with the first round. Thats why for example hmr/wmr mags are only 9 round mags.
Been a long time since I've been here. Those are some very classy rifles. Why won't the U.S. let so many rim fire rifles into the country? Just seems odd to me! Best to ya',,,, as always!
Thank You Sir! I wonder if the key to accuracy is the barrel fit to the action. Based on Eagle Eye's rifle builds, how could Sako manage such accuracy with four barrels swapping on one action. Did i mis understand?🤔 👍🇺🇸 Thanks to the hosts! 🙏
Ok so I have a rifle nearly identical. Mine is a tikka t1x in a tikka t3 sporter stock. Almost twins. And mine has the anschutz rail in the forend that's missing on this sako. I attached a 12" arca rail to mine
Hope Ray told them about Kenny's rifles... Gun owners in the UAE have enough money to keep Kenny fully booked for the rest of his life without any US customers....
Did you stay up all night shooting? It was 12am when this video was first released, but had me confused when the same video was released Thursday morning around 830am SC time.
Thank you for this. I have one of these and it will shoot similar to this. Perfectly OK for benchrest. I have been banging the drum for a chassis inlet for a quad as would be great option for steel target nrl type comps but got nowhere so will try it out soon in the laminate in a comp. How come you never seen them before?
@@XRING Perfect, thank you very much for your quick response. In .22lr I hesitate between the SAKO QUAD and the TIKKA T1 X MTR. I imagine that it is worth in terms of precision, fluidity of weaponry and reliability or is the Sako above it?
My daughters 40X CMP rifle is a better gun. My friend brough over his quad, shot a group with her 40X after he shot his gun. He put it in the case after that. He shot the best group he ever shot with the Remington 40X from the early 60's production. I will neve believe a new rifle is always superior. Some of the Win. 52D and Rem 40X are just plain hummers. We shoot NRA matches.

This is so impressive with the video quality, your shooting skills, and especially the rifle and range!

Curious what the price was and what year did this happen....
@@bryanduchane2371 it was about 2017 and at the time the person wanted 3200.
I don't know if he ever sold it
Cheap as chips 😳
A rare beast. Thank you for making a video about it.

Wow that’s impressive. Awesome looking 22.

Man that is absolutely beautiful 🤩
Not sure what impressed me more. The rifle or the range. 😮😂😂😂
Sako is my absolute best for reliability and precision, i use to own a sako 75 and having owned other rifles i am still revved up for sako.
That is some impressive grouping at 100 yards.
Thanks for this video, a big hug from Spain..!!!
My pleasure and thank you for watching.
Awesome video and great shooting 😊
The Australian Lithgows were sold here in Canada. Difficult to find in stock. A friend has an FAL built by Lithgow.
Looks like an incredible trip!

wow you never heard of that beauty? been out years is my favorite rimfire rifle
Take 2? Seriously cool range. Sako is one of those bucket list rifles. Thanks for the video. Be Safe.
UA-cam had an issue with the first one for some reason. Had it take out the cars at the end and it was all good. 🤷♂️
@@XRING damn, gun video front and centre to censor and they take issue with cars
I watched the first edition of the video. World class car collection.

So a quick search revealed a Sako Quad is listed for sale at EuroOptics if you are looking for one in the states. Price is less than Vodoo or RimX.

Omg I want one, it's beautiful 😍 🤩

With everything you have shown, I would extend my time there too.

Would love to see AICS or AW mags in em.
I like it 👍👍
Maybe this video will inspire a demand and Sako might start importing them again! I love my Sako center fire rifles.
LOL! Very doubtful.
That Sako can give Kenny's custom builds a run for his money. Nice range too.
Hope Ray told them about Kenny's rifles... Gun owners in the UAE have enough money to keep Kenny fully booked for the rest of his life without any US customers....
True, and he’ll then be able to afford to buy Gavintoobe’s second hand laths lol 😂.
22 plinkster reviewed a Lithgow some time ago. Maybe only a small batch made it to the States.
17hm2 i think is the best round for small game an shoots a lot flatter. I just converted my .22 to 17hm2
In Dubai, they have the $ for all kinds of goodies

In Finland that is +2000€ rifle. 22lr, 22wmr, 17mach and 17hmr barrel choises
And the price is with a single barrel😂
I love my keppler ko5
it truly sounds like you had the best trip ever for a gun nut lol like seriously
In Portugal the price is more than 2000euros

Hello ! With your Sako have you noticed any recharging problems with the bolt between shots ? Like in this video ? Thanks
@AMPlinkeur Only mag related. A little adjustment on the feed lips and it works perfectly.

Great video.
How would you compare this to your cz 457 Mtr?
This was a sample of 1. However, this one shoots better than any MTR I have ever had. 👍🏼
What scope base is that? ❤

Lithgow LA101 is imported by Legacy Sports
Not any more. I don't believe they have a U.S. importer at the moment.
I want one
I have 2 Finnbear's an 1 Finnwolf. Older? Yes. Accurate. Definitely. Well balanced? Yes.
Finn guns are..
100 meters is 110 yards not 104
You beat me to it. 😄 Which makes that group even more impressive!
Yeah, I was having a brain fart on that one . 😁
see mine
Just a nitpick. 100 meters is 109 yards.
Yep. I corrected that in a comment. Thanks for the correction. 👍🏼
100 meters is 109 yards
I know… I goofed up. Had a LOT of people correct me on that one! 👍🏼
The stock looks like it was made by a middle schooler in wood shop class.
