Congratulations on the Tikka. Beautiful, accurate rifle. I just bought 1 a few weeks ago and I Love it! It's the most accurate 22 I've owned. I have a Tikka T3 in 308 and another T3 in 7mm mag so I am a Tikka guy. With my T1X 22lr I've recently gotten a few 50 yard 3 shot groups of just 1/8". My best 5 shot center to center is 1/4" with match ammo. I fire 3-5 rounds of any given round and then fire my accuracy group. Surprisingly it makes a pretty big difference with some ammo and very little to none with other ammo. Being able to cover most 10 shot 50 yard groups with a dime is common with mine using match ammo.
@@frankbrowning328 Thanks Frank! I also own Tikka T3s in 223 and 7-08. They really are great rifles. A little more expensive than most budget rifles but well worth the money.
@@texmexshoots I have to agree. There only real issue I have with any of my Tikkas is pride. If I miss a bullseye or animal, I'm positive it's my fault and not the gun.
nice shooting man! Nice to see somebody else loving their Tikka rifle. We are extremely happy with our bigger T3X rifles but i liked the small Tikka T1X UPR pretty much. Guess i buy that in the near future as well.
I ended up doing the LVT comparison at 50 yards too, (editing the video and will post soon) but will take the Tikka back out soon and try some longer distances.
Thanks! It was a good day of shooting. I'll have another video up in a couple of weeks where I shoot different premium loads like Eley and Federal gold medal.
I like that Tikka offers 10-round magazines for both their .22 and the T3 CTR in 6.5CM. Great review of this rifle! I went to break in a Taurus Tx 22 pistol and tried it with several different brands and types to see what it would like best. That CCI standard velocity ended up working most consistently (along with Monarch standard velocity 40 grain). As the pistol is finally broke in, I still prefer the CCI for most consistent accuracy.
Thanks for watching Sombra! CCI SV works great in many of my semi auto 22lr pistols. There are a few that like high velocity stuff, but most prefer standard velocity.
Your gonna love it. The Tikka T1X and Bergara B14R are my two most accurate 22 rifles. My factory trigger went down to about 1lb. I finally changed to a Jard trigger which is ounces. Now you need a couple more magazines, bigger scope and about $500 worth of match ammo lol.
Thanks TexMex! That certainly is an awesome shooting rifle. I do see people always bragging about their Tikka rifles. This shows why. I think you'll really enjoy this one for sure. I need you to start shooting some of the 22 challenge targets out there with this Tikka. It will certainly do the job. I made a target called "dots" that is a page pull of 1/4 inch dots that I use at 50 yards. I like to see how many rounds I can get in the center of the dot. I'll see if I can send it to you. Oh, I still occasionally tap on my scopes too. Mainly the older model ones. And I have a Vari-X II 3-9x50 on my 270 that I had put together back around 1990.
Thanks my friend! I'll keep an eye out for it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who still taps scopes. I really researched the T1x before draining my bank account. Everyone sung its praises, and it didn't disappoint!
Thanks for watching Carl! I'm certainly happy with my purchase. I thought it would take a few rounds before settling in, but it shot great groups right out of the box.
Hello of France, I 've bought this gun , and she's wonderful......since one month in my great garden I making fuls shoots.....very good gun , great quality , précision ok .....sorry for my english......ciao ...
@@eddycamp2492 Greetings from Texas! Tikka makes a wonderful rifle. I’ve been very happy with its quality and accuracy. My wife studied in France for a year during college. We are hoping to go visit in a few years during December and visit some Christmas markets. Take care and good shooting!
Wow. In order to determine if the rifle shoots better after it breaks on you will need to get out to 100 yards. At 50 yards with all-rounds-touching you can't make my of an appraisal of its accuracy. Very impressive. Good analogy about CCI Standard Velocity being a gateway drug. Bulk pack ammo is fun, but the increase in accuracy and function with better ammo is addictive. Good shooting, BTW. The rifle and ammo didn't do all the work. And its difficult to focus on precession shooting when there's a brisket back home waiting for you. Give us a brisket update.
@@frankhinkle5772 The brisket was delicious! I’ve made so many over the last couple of decades that I have the process down. You’re right that I should have tried some shots at 100 yards to see how it would group. But I was having so much fun at fifty and the rifle was making me look good. Hope you have a great weekend!
Thanks DeathWatch! I use a GoPro 8 that I've had for a few years. My "target" cameras are just some cheapo digital recorders. That way I won't cry much if I shoot one by mistake! 🤣
Greetings from Texas! I had the pleasure of visiting Germany many years ago. Still crave some Weiss Wurst which I can't find anywhere in Texas. I need to get my hands on some other types of ammunition and try them through the Tikka.
You have the rifle resting in a way that allows you to work the bolt without moving the rifle; why do you move the rifle? While you're getting great accuracy, it seems as though you're not getting the accuracy you could achieve. I know in your lever action vids the bags were set up in such a way you had to lift the rifle to work the action.
Good point. I've had no real training so I'm certain I do things that I shouldn't. I think sometimes I had to move the rifle to drop out the shell casing. The ejector seemed to be hit or miss or potentially the shooting bag wasn't allowing for proper ejection.
Thanks for the recommendation! Where do you normally find your SK ammo? Never seen it on shelves around here so I expect I need to look for it somewhere online.
