Once you got a little familar with their Product manager and stick to it, it gets okay. Not optimal but product manager has the option to let you select exactly which folder or drive you want to install it on. I have a dedicated drive for plugins and a dedicated folder for IK stuff. That way I think it works fine. Just make sure not to drag around your plugins between folders because the product manager does not change the folder direction. Set it once install it all and forget about it basically.
Appreciate this close look at how Syntronic 2 works. The group buy is tempting, but I'd have to buy another external SSD drive just to store it all, plus the time to download it. Hmmm... still debating. Not crazy about IKMultimedia's install everything product manager.
The original Syntronic plugin was a mess for me.... to buggy to use, so I ran it's sounds through ST4. Syntronic 2 is much better and useable now. They've given away quite a few free libraries for it over the years. Great sounds.
Great videos on the Ik stuff. I'm thinking about purchasing Total studio 4 max. Now, the product manager no longer has a designated path for sounds intall. I can't find any info on how to install content to an external drive. The 3 dots on the sounds download page are gone. It does have a custom install but no clear info on it. I did read in the ik forum one of the moderators' replies was to install to your main drive, then move to your external drive. 🤦♂️ Also, I'm curious if all the V2 versions are installed on top of older versions or installs beside existing versions. Ik multimedia is an install NIGHTMARE.
The IK Product Manager is an absolute nightmare. Despite the fact that I specified a file path for my external sound library drive, the wacko manager still insisted on downloading the files to my system drive that very quickly filled up!
I did the same and now own Syntronik 2 MAX for 34,99€. 🙂 But since I have simple VDSL it took me more than 8h and 400GB (samples, sounds and download files [after expiring you have to pay for the ability to download them again]) to install them all.
I know I'm late to this party but did you get this sorted out as i am being offered the same product at the same price but after reading your comments I am a little wary.
@@garyhendrie4001 You still need much free space on your hard disc or ssd. I use an external ssd now. But the good news is, you no longer have to keep the download files to reinstall IKMultimedia products since iirc download links don‘t expire anymore

Weird how the library duplicates in documents and my external hardrive also ? I don’t get clear answers ….the sounds are very good but unmanageable software in general

Product in terms of sound is great ... but the companies installation is so confusing ... not seamless

How do you use sample tank to get more than one instrument to play ? Super confusing …..ik said sample tank is a legacy product ??

i got the studio max bundle as a crossgrade. 2 days of install so far lol. i hope it works
