Hi, I am so pleased you reviewed it, I was about to buy it online...so many supposedly hydrating foundations aren’t..it is frustrating, here in Canada the frigid weather isn’t good on my dry skin..I bought the Flower beauty serum foundation...what a nice one to use, it feels so good on my skin..hyaluronic acid doesn’t work too well on my skin...always a pleasure to watch you !!

When you said it was stinging, I think I felt my facial skin cringe in sympathy. I almost bought this foundation to try the other day, but decide to wait and look for reviews on UA-cam first - I am so glad I did, because I do have generally sensitive skin. Thank you very much for braving unknown foundations and saving us time and money!

So I bought this foundation, was excited to try it due to the hype. I then googled the internets to find out why I’m struggling with this foundation, and I found your video. I am having the patchy , spotty, weird cakey experience you are having (minus the stinging)

Thank u Shelly for trying it! The other Catrice foundation looked so awful on my dry, very textured, 50+ year-old face (not to mention oxidized to Oompah Loompah status during the day) that I just chucked it in the trash! Usually if I get a foundation that is just not my fav, I will keep it as a color corrector or to mix with a moisturizer but it was a so bad, I will likely not be even trying anymore from Catrice. 😢
I have watched at lease 12 utubes on this foundation and you are the 1st to have anything bad about it. Everyone else raved about it. All kinds of skin types.
Body chemistry and skin types are fascinating! The only review I watched after mine was Tati's, who liked it because she has more of combo skin than me, but she was baffled by the "hydrating" name as well (as she expected not to like it for that reason, whereas I expected to love it by the name).
I am so glad I watched this before I bought this! It looked weird when I put it on my hand, but it says "hydrating" so I wanted to give it a try.. Definitely won't now though - clearly you need to have zero skin texture or dry skin or whatever to like this foundation. Thanks for the review 🙏🙌

Brrrrrr I have my old hometown of Tinley Park IL in my phone for weather still for comparison, usually to make me feel better about Virginia winters. You're in for a chilly week! We're supposed to get snow on Sunday, and we just barely melted the snow we got last weekend, so it's more wintery here than I would like too. Stay warm and well out there!
Ahhh man, this happened to me the other day. I had just thought how nice & non~flakey my skin was. Then wow, apparently I was very wrong. Washed my face off as well. Man that made me grumpy. Thanks for the post, saved us again!
I filmed one of next week's reviews right after washing this off my face, and only a little flaking was obvious - so it was definitely the foundation.

I just tried the Morphe one on a few spots on my face and it actually looks and feels REALLY nice and smooth. I applied it with my fingers and it looks very natural and feels very hydrating! I'm impressed from that little bit I tried!

I appreciate you doing a review on this foundation. I was thinking about trying it but I have dry skin and dry patches.....so it's a no go for me. I have had the tingling itching reaction to a foundation before but I can't remember which one.
I was glad to see somebody give a true response to this foundation I know a lot of the people that tried it or wrinkle free and have perfect skin this is one of the worst foundations I've ever tried I don't have dry skin but I look patchy it went into every wrinkle it literally looked like I was 5 years older does not blend well at all it's so thick and mask like once applied to the skin HORRIBLE

🤭🤭 When you said "moist" I laughed out loud 🤣 you always make me smile girl. Glad you removed that stuff off I go nervous when you said it was stinging and burning girrrrl return that stuff haha I did test it out didn't have the same experience but I have more combo skin now. It didn't look too bad I actually enjoyed it but I think this will be one for the summer time for me good coverage sat decent on my skin. But I agree with you 100% their shades on ulta are way off lol mines too light as well! Sorry it didn't work out for you hun thanks for sharing love your videos!! 💕💕
The first time I tried the foundation I removed it because I was in a rush to get out of the house. The second time I gave a power up hydration on my face and it looked ok to a point I thought I was ok to wear out of the house. After a couple hours I looked in the mirror and with the smallest amount of oil on my t zone and living in humid weather it actually started to look pretty good. What I discovered to make it work is I can use it and make it look good if I have time to let the foundation sit on my face for a couple hours before going out and finishing the makeup. I’m 29, and unfortunately I am not so good with skin care and my skin is dry all over and the face being one of them. It can look good if it is a quiet day with spare time.
Did the same to my face and I thought I had a bad bottle. Glad to know I'm not alone?

Hi Shelley oh dear a real dud. I have hypersensitive, rosacea and eczema prone skin which reacts to tons of skincare, yet surprisingly to few makeup products (it may have something to do with all the layers of skincare, spf and primer underneath lol). In any case that would make me really leary of trying it tbh, plus the Catrice shade range isn't the best. My skin is very dry and their HD liquid one looks terrible on me, so this would be a hot mess. I'm glad the reaction went away quickly - on me it would cause a flare that takes days to settle. Just a no all round for me too. I was saying in my head "wash it off" as soon as it started stinging though, you were lucky it didn't do more damage. Best wishes.
I bet this would be so bad on my nose area, that is my rough zone so thanks for saving me time and money- I want to try the new Clinique but that brand's lightest shades always oxidize to straight up orange on me.

Amazon has all 22 shades and better photos. Same price no tax. I found it to work great for me! I have combo skin.

Update: I ended up returning the Catrice as I couldn't get a good color match. I much prefer the Believe Beauty foundation! FYI it is put out by the same company that owns Flower Beauty!!
This foundation did the same thing to me between my eyebrows!! I didn’t have any stinging thankfully but I will be getting rid of this one :( I absolutely love Catrices HD foundation though!!!

Dang I had high hopes for this one. I’ve never seen you say a foundation stings, itches, nothing. An me and my sensitive skin, that’d have to be a pass for me. I'm probably over-estimating to say I react to something maybe once a year. Honestly in the 5 years of this channel I can only think of 1 other time a foundation gave me that kind of reaction. It's quite unusual! When I filmed this I was thinking, PLEASE let the camera focus properly to show what the heck is actually happening! 😂

Wow! Absolutely no pluses, just all negatives with this one. Catrice is a brand I had to write off due to their heavy use of fragrance. I got nervous for you when your skin started reacting to it. Last year I tried the Catrice Prime and Fine Dewy Glow finishing spray. Within seconds of applying it my entire face was stinging and felt like it was on fire. I couldn't open my eyes until it dried which felt like forever! I had to wash my face immediately. That was a definite return to Ulta the next day. I hope your skin was okay after washing off the foundation.
Im surprised this isn't working for you. I bought this in 010 after loving the HD. I have super dry skin and sensitive rosecea. I have fine lines, so lots of redness and things. I have been mixing 1 pump this and 1 pump 010 in the catrice HD and I have a super nice foundation with great coverage that also covers redness.
I'm guessing there is something in this that just doesn't work with my body chemistry or my skin, based on the reaction.
Man, I hate that you had such a hard time with it. I'm almost 43 and have super dry skin and this one looked great on me lol even without a primer.
I think in this case it's definitely just something in it that doesn't agree with me so it had no chance at working. Thanks for including that you have dry skin - there are a bunch of people with dry skin reporting success with this one!

Catrice HD Liquid foundation has been one of 3 Foundations that has worked well with my oily, pores and dark spots. Getting Old sucks! My skin has gone from Oily to dry, back to oily. Darker spots have appeared. 🤦♀️
This just goes to show you, how different products work for some people, and not others! You are my skin TWIN, and I really liked this one, on my super dry, mature skin HAHAHAHAHA! How funny!
Thanks for including your skin type - I hope collectively we can figure out who it will work for! After I washed my face, I filmed the Essence Pretty Natural for next week, and that review went fine, so this one just really didn't like something about my body chemistry.

I use the Catrice Mousse Primer in advance of the True Skin foundation and those two make me feel like I have flawless skin. I am sorry the foundation didn’t work for you :(

Oh man, this one was baaaad!! Reminds me of the Becca Ultimate Coverage 24 hour foundation. I HATED that stuff, clung to every piece of dry skin I had.
I had exactly the same problem - so awful - but so many people claim it's great so I genuinely wonder are there some dodgy batches out there - I absolutely love the Catrice one drop weightless concealer so I really thought this foundation would be great!
I was definitely wondering if it might have been a quality control issue because it's just so far off of its claims.
I'm not sure I can go through putting that on my face again 😂😭
Wow I'm surprised Tati did a review of this same foundation it is now her Holy Grail she swears by it she wears it every day and because of her review I can't find this Foundation anywhere!! it's completely sold out at Ulta Sephora any drugstore online can't find it anywhere and if by chance I do find it they only have one or two shades left maybe give it another try ? or Watch Titi's review and see if she applied it a different way... thanks for the video
She's more of a combo skin type (where I'm dry year-round). She talked a bit in the beginning of her video about not thinking it was very hydrating (from the perspective of combo/oily people avoiding it thinking it would be too dewy) so I think the general consensus is that it's not hydrating the way a dry-skinned person would expect hydrating 😂

This is so organized and really makes it easy especially for someone like me who really doesn’t have a big budget for makeup products and hate hate to waste money on something that will look terrible in the end. I know no product is perfect but at least this will help me decide easier what product i really need since i have skin condition at the moment- dry/dehydrated with current flakiness on my acne scars. Shelly, how does the Missha #21 compare to CYO 101as far as depth of hue? 105 is my most of the time shade and I mix about half and half 105&101 in winter.
I would put the Missha maybe one shade darker than the 101, maybe a little less than a shade. I don't have 105 (of course I have 104 and 106) but I just posted to my Instagram a comparison of 101, 104, and Missha 21 for you. Maybe that will help!

I remember I left a comment on one of the videos about this foundation, I also absolutely hate it!! 7 euros wasted...super cakey, and I could feel it on my skin so badly. I liked the essence pretty natural one a lot more, also not suuuuper hydrating, satin matte finish I would say, but feels very light on my face and I like how it looks.
Heheh spoiler alert, the Essence one is what I reviewed right after I washed this one off my face (and without spoiling too much, everything went fine, so I don't think the problem was my face with the Catrice!) 😂 It'll go up next week!

It’s a shame these haven’t been working but I suppose such is life. Also...a random thing that I can’t stop thinking about is the good molecules bottle looks huge in your videos. How many ounces is it? The one I have seems small compared and it’s the largest that was available lol. Maybe it’s deceptive..
It is pretty big! 1.7 oz/50 ml
I don't have especially dry skin at 65, even can be oily in the t-zone, have large pores and a little texture in some places. I tried this foundation and thought it was just fair. I don't have sensitive skin so nothing in the ingredients bothered me. The shade range sucks; I needed a shade or two darker than the neutral porcelain 04 that I chose, but it went to cool shades after that before they became too dark, and I'm neutral to warm complexion. Their shade selector sucks as well as the shade range. It recommended Warm Vanilla 015, which I skipped because I know that is too dark. I don't think this is hydrating and definitely not for dry skin. You'd have to add a facial oil or something to make it more hydrating, but if it burns, it fails! There are so many other foundations that are actually hydrating. This is almost matte finish and I don't need anything dull on my skin at my age! I may try to mix it with other things so it doesn't go to waste, but you definitely showed that this isn't for everyone. Catrice has a lot of great products, but this one is not as great as the hype. ~Cynthia

I liked this foundation but no good under mask transfers badly also separated on me after a while when I opened it it went everywhere also leaked in my makeup bag I had the same shade to I wouldn’t purchase it again I’ll stick to the H D one x

It sounds so good the way they marketed it! I wrote a review on Ulta basically countering each marketing point claim by claim. Everybody's different and surely this will work for some people, but holy cow - it was a huge miss and the way they describe it, I should be their main target audience!

that was terrible! Regarding ingredients, when I started Curology my provider gave me a link to the site cosdna.com to analyze ingredients. Copy the ingredients and paste into the analyzer. Only takes a few seconds. I sure am glad you test all these products out so we get an idea before we buy! thanks Shelly!!
