He doesn't act like a dog, he acts like a cat. This is just what happens when you spend quality time with your pet. The more they experience interaction, the smarter they get

Yes. This is a well socialized cat.
YES
I agree. I've always had dog/s and cats combo, I treat them all the same. But my cats act like cats.
yes
Note to everyone: this is how cats raised by loving people are! This cat is a cat, not a cat-dog. People refer to friendly cats as being like dogs quite often, but this is literally just what most cats are like. Just like there are grumpy, skittish dogs, there are grumpy, skittish cats.
I call mine lions!
100% this. This is a normal, well-loved cat.
Exactly. I always wondered what the heck people were going on about. I’ve never had a cat that wasn’t a little cuddle baby
Most is a strong word.

He doesn’t act like a dog ..he acts like a typical playful loving chatterbox cat. She adores him and he’s flourishing with the love and attention she gives him.
he acts like a norwegian or siberian mix. looks like one too. Notoriously doglike cats who tent to squeak like that. lucky shelter find imo, very cool breeds. healthy & active & friendly. Just gotta brush em a lot.
i don’t really see how he’s like a dog, he’s almost the most cat cat i’ve ever seen

Amen to that, this is just a video of a woman talking about her cat.
I think it was the single moment of the cat fetching something lol
Woman raised this cat like a dog. See how that turned out.
The cat turned out normal. He doesn't act any differently then any cat I've owned.
I have 6 cats and only one talks when he is hungry, but my cat "baby" talks all the time. When my male "sudan" is hungry he will shake both his paws one at a time, sit, lay down and jump from our island to counter through a hoop. I had a toy poodle who I taught my sign language to, and she would do the things I signed her from across the room. When I want to take my cats for a walk (on a turnabout dead end street) I ring a crystal bell and they all come to me to go for a walk. I call them my lions because they follow me like I see people walk lions!!love my babies!
Yes, there is *_nothing_* unusual about this cat's behavior. That doesn't mean he is any less cute, of course. I think a dog-only owner wrote the headline.

Brandon mcmillan is the most gentle, thorough and effective dog i've ever encountered. My friend and i love the dog show and never miss it. So many times we've shed a tear of happiness just seeing a dog's life changed forever when proper training is applied and they go on to live their lives the way they should. I have brandon's book ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxK8-VQWpYThx4IC6MiIvb6VS1ebTzzdxq in two formats. Not only the paperback version but also the kindle version to refer to when i don't have the paperback along with me. I have used his methods with my cavalier kc spaniel and turned a non-disciplined furbaby into a companion who has traveled thousands of miles with us across the country. He is a near perfect dog thanks to brandon's methods. I don't get one cent of kickback for recommending brandon but i do it because i love dogs. They deserve to be given a chance. Brandon's mission in life - to rescue dogs and place them in a forever, happy home - is very dear to my heart. I recommend his methods to anyone who has a dog - young or old. I've seen him take even old dogs and teach them. Brandon was an animal trainer before his current mission. His parents were animal trainers. His methods are the best i've ever found. Your furbaby will thank you for spending the money on this book. Don't hesitate - it is worth every cent.
His little chirp’s and meow’s are so adorable. He’s definitely cuteness to the max

My 1-year-old acts just like this! The reason Birdie talks to you so much is, probably, because he's mimicking you (or previous owners). When you talk to your cat a lot, they'll gradually learn to do so back. My partner and I chat with our youngest all the time and she's a non-stop talker as a result! It's easy to assume cats are naturally standoffish and just lay around and groom themselves all day, but every cat has its own unique personality and they can be just as goofy and playful as a dog if they wanna be. They're truly amazing animals.
Tabby cats have helped
Me with soooo much love
They are therapy cats
They know when You need some Love and
Instinstly come to cuddle and comfort you
I feed two feral tabbies. Their personalities are just one of the best qualities they have…Which is all of them!
I have a stray mother cat with 4 kittens that's been taking shelter in our balcony, we can't take them in because my dad hates them but he's fine with them taking shelter in that balcony since no one goes to it a lot and we do feed her as much as we can. I talk to the mother a lot and she sure as hell responds. She's the prettiest stray cat I've ever seen and her children are just as gorgeous
Lol my first cat would talk to me all the time. The cat I have now will only talk if we're in the bathroom or the kitchen. She's not asking for food either, she doesn't like anything but dry cat food. I joke around and say she's not really a cat sometimes. I wish she would talk to me though!
I have two cats, one is introverted and likes to be alone, the other is playful and follows you everywhere. I love them both

This cat is definitely a Maine coon. This breed is incredibly playful, talkative like a chirping noise, loves water amongst many other traits like tufts in its ear, breed origin...
Gorgeous feline.
That’s the first thing I thought. He looks and behaves just like my Maine Coon. The chirping and trilling melts me every time 💜
Birdie has quite the EXPRESSIVE personality and reminded me of my cat Rainbow who also was a Maine Coon. She LOVED to chatter back at me with those chirping noises. She was a chatter chirper chat in the box! Lol! We loved having our convo's together Rainbow and me. 🌈
Plain domestic cats can have every. single. one of these attributes. The world didn’t suddenly become overrun with pure bred cats just because Instagram taught people the name of a couple of breeds. Shelter animals can have long hair. Moggies can be talkative, inquisitive.
@@shamelesshussy calm yer tits. They're just noting physical and behavioral traits that are common with cats that have some Maine coon genes.

This is a very high IQ Kitty. Responds to 2 or 3 or 1 syllable American English words. My 2 Siameses are similar but your Kitty is uncannily comprehending and responsive, answering with similar utterances. I was sort of amazed at Kitty's timbre and repertoire. Very delightful to watch. Thank you.
Siberian mix.
every dog and cat ever born on this planet can be a very special animal like this one...all it takes is humans with love and time to give. Our pets are meant a blessing to us and if you nurture them you'll be much rewarded. Each has personality traits totally unique, just like humans and if you are paying attention they will teach you some things about yourself and life.
Very true. With Cats it isn’t always easy… you can’t just be the alpha. They each have their own personality and you have to develop a relationship with them and work with them. Like a person. But if you do, nothing is more rewarding.
I have found after years of owning cats, that they become very responsive and communicative if you spend time talking to them. They do recognize many words, and they know you are talking to them to tell them something. If you repeat many of the same sentences often, it will become clear they know what you are saying. They also will change their meow to fit the situation, and it sounds like they're trying to talk. My cat Lily and I are very close, and she knows many things I say, and will look me right in the eyes. If I say I'm going out, she reacts one way, if I say it's bedtime, she runs up the stairs. If I say "Tangie" is outside (a stray that she is friends with), she'll go to the glass and look out, or look at the door. Her vocabulary is quite extensive. But it means we must believe our animals want to understand what we are saying. They become better pets with communication. Much better. And they also know we care enough to try.
Many have no idea how intelligent, social and communicative cats can be, possibly even more than dogs (some cats).
SIMPLY, WHEN ONE SPEAKS FROM THE HEART, EVERYONE LISTENS...🙏💖💞🐾⚖🕊🌅🌎☸
cats love it when you talk and sing to them, even if that sounds terrible to everyone else LOL
Yes. A lot of mammals are incredibly intelligent, and can totally understand a lot of words when you talk to them enough. My dogs and my cat are listeners and talkers. I talk to them constantly since that they're babies, and they communicate pretty well
True. My cats know more than 35 vocabs, and they response accordingly. I teach them since they were little and they understand instructions by including the known vocabs in a sentence. Its like living with a 3 or 4 yr old child.
When cats are treated like this growing up, it really helps bring out their personality. It's incredible how different they act when all you really have to do is interact with them constantly...like just talking to them like you would a person and they just open up so much.
I think you are absolutely right. When I was a teenager I worked in a pet shop and one day a woman brought in a 4-week old kitten and left him with the owner. I took him home and bottle-fed this kitten for about three weeks and decided to keep him. As Paco grew., I found that he would come running just like a dog when I called him. Later on, I moved to a house with some guys I worked with. The house backed up to a field and each day when I returned from work I would open the back door from which I had a full view of the field and the Golf course beyond. I would call Paco by name and could view him come running, sometimes from several hundred yards away. He would also jump in my lap if I asked him to and patted my leg. He was a lot more like a dog than most cats I have ever been around. I always attributed this to the bond we developed when he was a kitten.
Completely agree! As a lifelong cat lover, I’ve always talked nonstop with them. But I totally love that as a lifelong dog person, she has fallen for him so totally AND took the time to articulate it here❤️🙌
Yes I don't think people realise the 'potential' of cats or for that matter themselves? It's taking the 'relationship' and care to a whole new leverl............ which if I'm honest most people don't see the potential for or can't be bothered to create........... many simply want an animate stuffed teddy that takes care of itself in which case a cat is a much better choice than a dog...................
Wake up world! Enjoy
Swap cats with shy people and it still holds its meaning.
Many don't seem to know how social cats can actually be but I think it has to do with his breed too but definitely good to talk with your cat. Cats can be very social and intelligent, very unique special animals.
I grew up with dogs and never had cats until after I was married. We have always talked to our cats and had conversations with them. We love them to death and cuddle, play, and sleep with them. One plays fetch and likes water. This doesn't mean they're like dogs. Through tons of interaction, socialization, and playing with them, they are simply cats. Still different than dogs but super loving. People, as I once was guilty of, seem to not understand cats. They can be trained, they understand a ton of what we say to them, we understand what different sounds and meows of theirs mean, they're very loving and want to be loved as well. ❤️

my 3 cats are the same way. they respond to everything you say, love going on walks (I have harnesses for all of them), know tricks (sit, stand on hind legs, shake (putting their paw on your hand), and catch which is where they wack your hand when you put it to them in a karate chop motion.), and overal are just the best. they’ve never hissed at anyone, im not sure they even know how to lol.

The head shape is the biggest difference between the two and the breeders will know the differences, I have a Norwegian laying in front of me right now so I can see the difference. My Maine coon would say “mommy, mommy” walking down the hall towards me. She mimicked my daughter so well I could not tell the difference. She would say “no” if she didn’t want something. She could open kitchen cupboards above the counter. She opened my bedroom door by climbing the bookcase beside the door and using two paws to turn the knob. She was over 25 lbs and I miss her.
I know huh. RIP our fur-babies. O,Ne Love
.
I know what you mean. I miss my kitty Spook like I miss a person who died that I loved to bits. It just hurts for a long time.
But I know I'll see her in heaven, coz Jesus said, "Everything you love is here".🐈⬛❤
She sounds just like my Himalayan cat I had growing up. She also learned how to say "mom" and my mom would come running thinking it was my brother or me calling her 😂 She was also really good at opening cupboards and doors!
Awe bless. Yes they do leave a hole in our hearts when they pass away.
@@kitt765 Oh yes you will see your kitty again. Meantime we miss their physical presence. I do believe animals have souls. Even the ones that get eaten, like sheep, cows, pigs and so on. Even fish are so intelligent.
There are few things more rewarding than being able to carry on conversation with a cat 💕
Man, I have a chatty cat and I know what he is saying by the intonation/pitch of his meow. lol. We argue sometimes!
Ladies and gentlemen i present to you the modern American woman

How lovely and SMARTIE😻
I loved when she said "I'm obsessed with him." This so true of dedicated pet owners!😇❤
Thank you for loving him. He's a beauty.
He is most adorable. He is a keeper!!
2:59 he pushed the camera away in a way saying “Don’t look at meee”
🥺😂
What a good boy! cats can have good boys too and he's a purrfect example!
His appearance suggests that he is at least partly Main Coon, and these cats are known to be talkative, affectionate, and playful. They have been described as "the dogs of the cat world".
I was thinking that too. He's gorgeous! 😍
@@Cat-tastrophee Yep. Me too.
His looks and overall personality and temperament suggest a Norwegian Forest Cat
I had a main coon. She was the sweetest cat and was nearly human. I miss her.
Yes, I have one that looks just like him, her father was a purebred.
Very sad she lost her tail, mine has a long bushy tail..swishing about, even before I can see her coming to me….when in bed.
She’s 10 yrs old now, very bossy, would even scold me sometimes 🙂
He's absolutely adorable!!!🌈💖🤗
Your so very blessed to be the friend of this wonderful kitty!!! JD
So precious. My orange boy talks a lot too. Love him; he’s always near me.
1:01 literally the cutest noise from a cat ever.
He's gorgeous! He is a Norwegian Forest cat, btw.. My late cat looked exactly like him. They are a wonderful breed, and they live a long time. Mine lived to 21! I wish you both many happy years together :-)
Yes, you are correct - He is a Norwegian Forest Cat, and how blessed they are to have found him! They're somewhat rare and are confused many times with a Maine Coon. They have some similarities, yet they are different. Norwegian Forest Cats are lighter on their feet, have a higher voice pitch, and love love love to talk and chirp! Extremely friendly and not moody like Maine Coons can be.

Really? I have a cat who looks exactly like Birdie. My family always thought he was a manecoon
Not Maine Coon? 🧐 Those are sort of dog like in their behaviour as a breed anyways.
Since he was found on the street, he probably is neither Norwegian nor Maine Coon, but a mixed breed that has roots tracing back to one of the breeds. He has a wide muzzle but no ear brushes and his face is fairly flat, so definitely strongly mixed heritage by now.
2:59 This one is so cute lol :)
i found it extremely hilarious
~~random acts of kindness ! Love this critter , he so chatty and sooo beautiful. thanks and bunches of blessing to the both of you.
I had a cat who acted and even looked like Birdie. I rescued him as an abandoned kitten who actually walked up to me from beneath an abandoned building crying. He talked all the time and earned the name “Chatty”A friend of mine said he looked just like the cat who saved her family, alerting them of a house fire, waking them up in the middle of the night. They lost everything but their lives thanks to “Sam”. We were blessed with “Chatty Sam” for over 13 years. ❤️
I fell in love with him just watching the video. I love, love, love, the talking. He is so precious! Give him a kiss from Aunt Debra, ok? Bless you for giving him so much love and attention. All animals deserve to be treated like this. We just need more people like you and me in the world! Right? 😊😘💕🤗
Yes
@Jyl Hobbs Thanks a lot for telling !!! 😃😺❤
Ouch! I've always had the horrors about cats & reclining seats, poor Birdie must have been in agony.
Beautiful chatty boy.
I, too worry about cats around recliners.
Me too, that's why I put both my recliners chair in the garage. Cats are to precious to take the risk
@@margyb7469 Hubby has always wanted one but I wouldn't have one if you paid me to as they're so dangerous for cats. Don't blame you putting yours in the garage.
@@anniemac3075 After putting mine out I was reading comments on a cat video and one person also mention how dangerous recliners are for cats, sadly she learnt first hand.
@@margyb7469 Oh how awful, poor cat & people. When you think about how cats get into anything if they can it's quite obvious (to me & you anyway) recliners have no place in their home. Tilt & turn windows are also lethal to cats when they try to get out through open ones, don't want to even think about that.
Rescuers are the best!🐾
Beautiful Family.🥰🌟🐝
omg I love how he snores!! So cute
This is exactly like my tortie. She had been in and out of shelters because she's a little ball of anxious neurotic energy and it was difficult getting her comfortable in our home. But she's so sweet and loving. She'll hold full conversations with you and play fetch and her favorite thing is to scream at you and flop on the floor until you pet her belly and then slide her along the carpet. We call it going "Weeeee!" I'm so glad her previous owners didn't have the patience because we would have never ended up with her.
My calico is like this cutie pie
I am happy for you! Cats are awesome companions!
Did you adopt your cat in California by chance?
That's funny! I used to have a tortie who liked for me to zoom her around the carpet on her back and make race car noises ;) She was the best cat! I still miss her.

😍😍😍 i love your kitty's special cute meows.
He acts exactly like a cat 😂 🥰
I am someone who foster kittens and pregnant cats. I love to hear that you are very happy and in love with the cat you got at a shelter. I wish everyone would go to a shelter to find their furbaby!
Hello Kathy how’s the weather over there
I wouldnt go anywhere but a shelter to be honest, My previous cat Daisy who unfortunately passed in June was a shelter cat, she had been abandoned by her owner and had been living rough for a few weeks, she was a calico tortie, so beautiful, dont understand how anyone could abandon her like that, just leave her outside and move house. she was like birdie, so interactive, so communicative, and would bring you her ball of string and drop it at your feet to play with her. 3 months ago we went back to the shelter and were adopted by the most beautiful silver grey tabby with british shorthair features. she follows me everywhere, shes like glue!!! not quite as communicative as daisy, but just as much of a sweetheart. please go to a Shelter if you want a cat or a dog. You will never ever regret it.
What a funny cat! My cat was pretty silent, I would hear her chittering now and then. We had to put her to sleep 2 years ago, at 14 yrs, we often see a movement like her little ghost running by us. Your cat is so funny, so vocal, my cat sounded like she had a broken squeaker when she did meow,it was very sweet. Thank you for sharing your cat!
Barbara, sad to hear of your pet dying. I lost my 15-year-old cat two weeks ago. He was a son to me. I talk to my cats all the time, my children. They do understand more than given credit for.

So sorry for your loss. I lost my boy several years ago. He had so much amazing personality that I still can't bring myself to get another cat.
@@debbietusman3933 I'm so sorry for your loss. When my sweet Buddy suddenly passed away at 12, the first thing I did was go get another one. The one I chose turned out to be a not so nice cat, she had been returned twice before. She had been back at the SPCA for a year and a half before I got her. She's a special needs cat though I didn't know that until after I got her. She's getting more and more friendly now
@@mamacat63 My mom did the same thing. She couldn't stop comparing the new cat-which is natural but it is not fair to the new cat.I am very sorry for your loss also. It's terrible. And people who have never had such a special animal just don't get it.I'm so happy that your relationship with the new cat is improving. I have found that with the not so nice cats,if you exhaust them, it helps A LOT. It builds the relationship, builds trust, stimulates the cat,and once your cat is tired out, they will allow more physical contact. That's my experience.
I hope this helps! Good luck! You will get there.
what a precious squawky bean!
Having had dogs and cats all of my 64 years…..this is a typical cat. They are wonderful creatures
Both are adorable: cat and human
