I had a cocker spaniel that lived to 20 years old. I did a lot of what you were discussing except I didn't think to change her diet. I really believe she lived as long as she did because of the supplements and changes I made. My next little dog, the one I have now, has been fed a raw homemade diet with supplements since she was a puppy. She's now 7 years old and still has the energy level of a very young dog. Her weight is perfect and her teeth are healthy! She is so much more healthy than any animal I've had previously. It takes a little extra effort, but it's worth it! I won't EVER go back to kibble for my kids with fur! 😁
@@TrainerCTZ Thx! Good luck with your fur baby. I've seen some info about a Pet Labs supplement for GI problems you might want to check out... It's supposed to help boost the gut microbiome health. 😊
I was told 4 years ago that my dog only has 2 weeks to live based on his kidney disease. I refused to accept that. I changed his diet to raw foods. No more kibble. I added many supplements and goats milk. I took him back to the vet fir a checkup on his kidneys. He was shocked that his levels were great and recovered. 4 years to this date, he is still doing great except he's old and now dealing with difficulties getting up. I started with all the supplements dr. Jones stated. Today is the first day he jumped on the couch. Vets and doctors don't know everything. Only you know your dog and your the best doctor.
Our Bailey has had lameness issues since he was eight years old. He’s now 13 and for the last 4 years or so we take along a wagon or sleigh on our walks and when he starts to limp, he rides. He’s still excited to go along and he likes watching the other dogs racing around. We love him very much and he’s still the boss.
That's a great idea. I take my 18 year old Aussie to the local dogt beach park, but the hike out there is almost half a mile and she's out of juice just getting there. I will get a wagon like you use to cover this part of the travels!

Hey Dr. Andrew, I have a 12.5 year old Standard Poodle. Please could I ask how to give cbd oil to a dog ? As the one I got tastes awful, how many drops would u give a big dog ? Thank you in advance, I am so interested in natural treatment to aid health, I always trying to learn new things, X
+sharon izod My Standard Poodle loves ""Maty's Cough Syrup" www.matyshp.com. I mix that with "pet releaf" HEMP OIL 300- www.petreleaf.com follow guidelines and good luck!
A friend of mine new 2 people who both had cancer, one of them was given months to live. They both started taking the cannabis oil and are cancer free today. So it not only works on animals but humans too.
No way you are not 50 years old you are 50 years young i want to thank you for all the infos about our beloved pets it helped me personally very much to check off the well beeing on my pets...............................Greetings from Kansas!
I cook Toby's food, (my Maltipoo). In a large pot, I COOK chicken breasts (you can use chicken thighs instead) in water until FULLY cooked and tender. Remove the chicken from the chicken broth. To the broth add a good brand of rice, and cook to just under the fluffy stage. Add the frozen vegetables (if you use canned vegetables, you could drain off the liquid and cook the chicken, or rice, in the vegetable liquid. You may have to add enough water to cover the chicken or rice.) and continue to cook until the chicken is tender. Chop or shred the chicken into small bite-size pieces, and add it to the vegetable-rice mixture, mixing well. Allow the chicken-vegetable-rice mixture to cool. Pour into a dish that has a snap-on cover and refrigerate. I give 1/2 cup of this to Toby for his morning meal. I always cook extra chicken and chop it into bite-size pieces to give Toby as a treat. He looks forward to getting a small treat after going out to potty, or as rewards for obedience. For his night-time meal, I give him organic kibble (CRUNCHIES to keep his teeth clean). Toby is about 10 years old, yet other dog owners tells me that he acts like he is only 3 years old. Oh, and if you make a large batch of chicken and vegetables, you can put some into quart zip-lock freezer bags and freeze until needed. This saves a lot of time and it keeps its consistency very well.
Happy Birthday! WOW!!! You look really great for being 29 for the 21st time! Love the birthday hat! :-) Your microphone is great today!!! Thank you for sharing your secrets for our aging dogs and ourselves. As you mentioned, we also need to change our nutritional content of the foods we eat. Buddy, my 13 year old Pom, finally ate your nutritional supplement.and the difference is amazing. It is as if he woke up from a stupor and his youth was restored. Awesome changes!!!
I feed my 11 year old yorkie raw. He eats the same as his been eating the past 3 years. Just switch between beef, lamb, chicken, turkey. Maybe cut down on the bones. You want around 55% lean meat, 30% bone matter, 5% vegetables and 10% offal, like liver and heart etc. A SUPER FOOD for dogs u can try adding a couple times a week is GREEN TRIPE. It has EVERYTHING your dog needs. Just make sure u get the green tripe and not the white bleached ones. I give my dog raw sardines twice a week too and also coconut oil, colloidal silver in their water and also in their shampoo.
Insanity is Sanity Thankyou, im starting with the colloidal silver with him and will start to give him more beef, im just scared because the vet told me that i should lower his levels of protein..
u dont need to worry about a thing trust me, soon u will see. ur dog will LOVE the new diet and u will start to see health improvements almost immediately
thanks for your advice, im also giving him dmso to help him with his arthritis and seems to work, but lately he's having urinary infections, maybe it has to do with a bad diet? do you have an idea to cure it? thankyou
Omg you don't look over 45 years old. Happy Birthday to you. I need to know what to do for my blind dog. He also is getting Alzheimer's. I hope you have time to read this. I love your videos. Thank you so much.
Thank you You not only helped me but my old dog whom I rescued she has hot spots Ear infections her lips and gums are bright red Odor problems And hit spots on top of her feet She keeps liking over and over Also she has a itchy problem just itches all over She had red rashes under her bottom and groin area I changed her diet , started probiotics , add coconut oil to dog food I’ll incorporate flax oil I used corn starch to help with the bad rash , that was very helpful took it away in a few days , by changing her diet , it seemed to help with the inflamation in her lips and gums they were bright red , now they are pink in color , she constantly shakes her head like she has something in her ears she is trying to get out , I used ear cleaning to help with odor and ear infection So it’s not as bad her ears were bright red and thick Not they are pink and looking not as thick But she still shakes her head a lot I’ve given her two bathed so far but it’s cold and I don’t want her catching a cold So no more bathes for a while Any suggestions on how to treat her odor from her body her toes smell like corn or dirty socks , also I’ve soaked her feet in vinigar and clipped her toenails She’s a very good dog but needs so much love n care Which is ok Can you help me with the body Oder and shaking the head I liked what you had to say thank you soooo much HAPOY BIRTHDAY
this video was extremely helpful. I really liked the part about a senior dog's diet. Diet is super important and I actually have been giving my aging rescue dog, Bandit these balanced breed multivitamins and the best part is that they are made with all natural ingredients so it's a great remedy to help with joint pain, nutritional purposes, and anything else honestly. These things are like magic and work perfectly. If anyone wants something all natural like this without chemicals I highly recommend balanced breed products!
Thankyou so much for helping us with Enzo Furarie he has a Limpomis its large in his back leg it is movable it is soft thankyou for the information that you have given us on limpomis at least i still have my Enzo and we have purchased all that you h a ve suggested thankyou so much love your channel 💗 and we appreciate you 💖 thankyou Dr Jones xo
Very interesting thank you. I have an eight year old Rottweiler (Eric). Fortunately he seems quite healthy and vigorous at the moment. I am going to try the probiotic yogurt and some raw meat/bone. The only thing that worries me slightly is that it might upset his stomach because he is not used to raw food, but I will try a small amount first. He does seem to have a hot spot on his right paw, in between his claws, which he chews and really makes it sore. He has had all sorts of tests at the vet, including a skin biopsy, but they couldnt find any reason for the itchiness. I have started giving him an antihistamine, cetirizine 10mg, he weighs 47kg, one tablet once a day and that does seem to have helped. I have started bathing his feet regularly with green tea, especially when we come back from walking. I am using your suggestion for cleaning his ears, which seems to be helping him, he doesnt shake his head as much. I understand that since this video you have lost Lewis, I'm sorry to hear that.
My Keno just turned ten in August and she stepped in a rabbit hole and twisted her knee. So I had x rays done and the vet said she had Degenerative Joint disease then. Then I didn't have the money to fix her knee so it took almost a year of me walking her and getting the atrophy from that leg. So all considering she's had a good life and been my service dog for four years. She's been getting heartburn bad and I give her pepcid but if you have anything better, id appreciate it. Thanks Doc Andrew. You did this video before Louis died and even then I can feel the worry in your voice that you know it's coming and I hate It, but such is a dog's life, too short.
I’ll be getting in touch asap for our senior border collie Molly....who is also dealing with Vestibular Disease since about two days ago! The Glucosamine supplement is overdue...
Happy Birthday! Thank you so much for sharing. My 17 yr old Miniature Poodle is experiencing all of those obstacles plus I think he's suffering from degenerative myelopathy because his hind legs fail him a lot. I wish he would just stay down during those times but it seems to motivate him even more to keep trying so I have tried to make it soft around my room by using foam padding on the lower parts of the walls, covering the ramp I made him to get up on the bed and surrounding my bed. I'm downloading the ebooks now, thank you for offering all the additional info plus making it easy to shop for the products by having them offered at your site. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
I'm hoping your Ultimate Canine Health Formula also helps.... it's "currently out of stock and has been placed on Backorder." I can't wait, I'm so excited.
What I appreciate about your approach is you could change the title of this video to Aging Human? because the same principles pertain. Happy Birthday! Laurie
I am new to your site..... I LOVE it. Thank you so much. My furry little girl is 15, she is a mini schnauzer and blind, I think her hearing is leaving her also. She gets playful a few times a day and ending up on her back waiting for her belly rub. She walks slow as she sometimes forgets the lay out and is tired of bumping her head. All hazards have been removed from her access. I have a total of 7 mini's..... THEY ALL BARK.... I have tried everything to get them to stop..... still does not work consistently ! I bring them in when they are having choir practice in the backyard!! An ambulance or police car.... ANY siren bell whistle.
OK thanks Dr. Jones I really love your tips and tricks knowing that you're actual veterinarian helps me a lot I recently brought him oatmeal shampoo and gave him a bath with it and ever since I used the oatmeal shampoo he has in it just once I think it's actually working and he does whine a lot out if no where
I don't quite understand when you said 'click below to receive free books and videos.' What do I need to do? I am subscribed and would love more information! Very happy to hear about natural remedies!😁
My ophthalmologist gave my poodle optixcare eye drops for the dry eye (one drop 4 times daily) and optixcare pink tube for cataracts (5 min after optixcare each time) at age 11 when the eyes started changing (running, small cataracts coming) and hence she can still see perfectly today at 15. Amazing stuff! I learned they don’t have to go blind, and with ophthalmology checkups (the health of the entire body shows in the eye) they are able to see and diagnose things like high blood pressure, which they did with my pup, ultimately saving her life. I recommend an ophthalmologist checkup yearly. Their entire health shows in their eyes!
Happy Birthday, Dude! Yer just a kid, eh!!!! My wild, always in trouble, "puppy" is in her 12th year and she is "now" the bestest dog in the world. Ramps, rugs, lower furniture... It all makes a difference. We walk everyday and she'll even run when she sees a bunny. The supplements & probiotics for sure makes it a lot easier for her to get thru the day. Bilberry helps a great deal with vision! I think we all have tinnitus which affects our hearing, guess the dogs do to. Keeping dogs active keeps their mind sharp so we play lots of games that she likes - throwing ball or watching birds are some. We talk and interact OFTEN and that sure makes her happy, and she is very social and plays with the other young dogs. Thank you for these great tips!
I have a 65lb 14 year old Lab/Pit/Who-Knows-What who has been pooping all over the human bed at night, on the walls, the floor, pillows, and even my innocent sleeping legs. She has always woken me up if she has to go out, but not lately. - I have decided to put a desk lamp on the floor for her at night, because I think she is getting disoriented because she cannot see in the dark anymore. Also will buy doggie diapers for night time. Other than that I do not know what to do.
Can we expect SOME repair to their joints by supplementing turmeric while giving them condroitan? This particular video emphasizes the point of looking forward for our pets ' general health. In my estimation, Dr,Jones, you are practicing in the tradition of James Herriot and the wonderful vet I worked for, Dr. Ralph Chambers. May you prosper for many more years.
Thank you Dr Jones. My pal is a 10'5 year old jack Russell terrier named Sparky. I am concerned for him and frankly don't know much at all on how to prepare food for him. Poor guy has eaten a mainstream brand his whole life with a recent switch to a senior formula. I am hoping someone can help me make him a healthy meal that will be easy and cost effect for he and I. He has had diarrhea at times and has had to have his teeth cleaned every few years now. My vet only recommended a brand name dog food when I asked for advice. His weight had been as high as 20lbs which even as active as he is was a problem. I've since worked on getting his weight down to 15-16 lbs but as I said I believe he needs more nutrients .
A marvellous video. Thank you. I am wondering if you can help - my dog is 14. He has mitral valve disease and Cushings disease. It is a nightmare getting him to take his medication 2 morning, 2 lunchtime,2 evening. Any suggestions would be welcime. Thank you.
happy birthday!! i love your natural aproach to dogs health!! my bfs dog Archie stinks he has bad,bad wind issues. we tried yogart & charcoal which worked for a while & he also gets the runs a lot. we have to change his food every few months to help prevent it but hes always having issues. its really embarracing. hes a staffordshire bull terrier/pitbull & hes about 7yrs old & hes getting grumpy too!! hes lost teeth thru playing too hard & had a burst blood vessel in his ear which has never healed up properly & were also worried that hes just so skinny even tho he eats 2-3× what my dog of the same breed & size eats. my dogs 4 & really healthy bar his ears get infected all the time. i used diluted apple cider vinegar to clean them & put antibacterial cream on after which really helped but hes just always had it. our vet just gives anti inflamatorys which have no long term effect. sorry for tge long message but our vets just fob us off & its the pdsa in the uk so cant change vets. thankyou for your time.
Hi Caroline - this sounds like a combination of allergy/IBD ( inflammatory bowel disease). Go back to the principles of very simple diet, ( ie easily digestible protein, sweet potato as carb), add in Flax oil, high doses of probiotics.
My same litter girls are 11 and they are so well...slowing down slightly and sleeping a lot more.. we’ve made a few changes and I’ve got a little camper car so we’re out for a good long day without the walking...✌️.. our dogs give us the best days of our life and then we have to pay the price with the loss... x

Thank you so much! My dog is almost 14 years and I started to realize that it now is really the time that he gets old (doesn't want to walk down the stairs anymore, doesn't see and hear well etc) I didn't knew about the supplements. Just ordered some now. Also I guess I will try to give him more raw or canned food. :)
what specific kind of bones are best for senior dogs that won't hurt their teeth? i'm not familiar with what to buy. also what specific foods should you add to their kibble?
I buy a 10# bag a chicken leg quarters a week. I remove skin and separate leg from thigh. My bulldog LOVES the thigh, cow dog LOVES the leg! Their health has improved TREMENDOUSLY.

Hi Denyse,
Thanks for sharing, and yes I am curious- I have friends using it on their Dad with cancer
Thanks
Thanks!
Can you please make a video of a raw food recipe for senior dogs? thanks!
Insanity is Sanity
Thankyou, im starting with the colloidal silver with him and will start to give him more beef, im just scared because the vet told me that i should lower his levels of protein..
ralphito79
trust me the vets dont have a clue what their talking about when it comes to diet, NOTHING
u dont need to worry about a thing trust me, soon u will see. ur dog will LOVE the new diet and u will start to see health improvements almost immediately
thanks for your advice, im also giving him dmso to help him with his arthritis and seems to work, but lately he's having urinary infections, maybe it has to do with a bad diet? do you have an idea to cure it? thankyou
Omg you don't look over 45 years old. Happy Birthday to you. I need to know what to do for my blind dog. He also is getting Alzheimer's. I hope you have time to read this. I love your videos. Thank you so much.
Happy Birthday Dr. Jones
Thank you for the information about aging dogs.
Welcome
Thank you
You not only helped me but my old dog whom I rescued she has hot spots
Ear infections her lips and gums are bright red
Odor problems
And hit spots on top of her feet
She keeps liking over and over
Also she has a itchy problem just itches all over
She had red rashes under her bottom and groin area
I changed her diet , started probiotics , add coconut oil to dog food
I’ll incorporate flax oil
I used corn starch to help with the bad rash , that was very helpful took it away in a few days , by changing her diet , it seemed to help with the inflamation in her lips and gums they were bright red , now they are pink in color , she constantly shakes her head like she has something in her ears she is trying to get out , I used ear cleaning to help with odor and ear infection
So it’s not as bad her ears were bright red and thick
Not they are pink and looking not as thick
But she still shakes her head a lot
I’ve given her two bathed so far but it’s cold and I don’t want her catching a cold
So no more bathes for a while
Any suggestions on how to treat her odor from her body her toes smell like corn or dirty socks , also I’ve soaked her feet in vinigar and clipped her toenails
She’s a very good dog but needs so much love n care
Which is ok
Can you help me with the body
Oder and shaking the head
I liked what you had to say thank you soooo much
HAPOY BIRTHDAY
this video was extremely helpful.
Happy B day, Dr. Jones. You weather your years very well. Thanks for all the videos that help us to help our dear furry friends.
You surely fooled me, thought you were in your 30’s so HAPPY BIRTHDAY ❣️🙏🏼 Thank you for your natural supplements ❣️🙏🏼

Happy Birthday Doctor Jones and thank you for all the advices God Bless You Now and Forever.
Thank you:)
Thank you so much for doing all these videos. You have helped me with my older dogs so so much.
Thanks for all your advise, I have an older dog and has shown signs of all the things you have talked about,
Wonderful. We have rehab'd several senior dogs by feeding a good quality raw diet. Great advice.
Thanks
Your the best! Happy Birthday. Just found you today!
Thanks and welcome to the channel! Please feel free to subscribe! ❤️
He is the best. The best vet in the world.
Thank Doc. Enjoy your videos.
Happy Birthday Dr. Jones!!! Thank you so much for all the great information you have provided for us.
Thanks Eileen
Thank You. I hope some of the info helps.
I'm hoping your Ultimate Canine Health Formula also helps.... it's "currently out of stock and has been placed on Backorder." I can't wait, I'm so excited.
Thanks- it will be ready is 10 days
What I appreciate about your approach is you could change the title of this video to Aging Human? because the same principles pertain. Happy Birthday! Laurie
Thanks and funny
Louis looks fabulous! You loo great too! Happy Birthday!

Thank you Dr Jones!
Happy Birthday! Thanks for all of your great videos!
Thanks!
Love your videos! Thanks for sharing such a wealth of information!
Thanks Roxanna
Thank you slot for all your counseling and help
OK thanks Dr. Jones I really love your tips and tricks knowing that you're actual veterinarian helps me a lot I recently brought him oatmeal shampoo and gave him a bath with it and ever since I used the oatmeal shampoo he has in it just once I think it's actually working and he does whine a lot out if no where

Thanks
Happy Birthday! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Thank you for all these awesome video❤
Thank you for all the knowledge you share.
You're welcome
Thank thank thank you. It has been challenging to find good information about senior dogs...
Glad it was helpful!
Great video, thank you for the information.
We also love older dogs. Great information. Thank you
Welcome
Happy Birthday! Love and appreciate your wonderful videos. This one on our aging dogs is great. Thank you
Thanks
Thank you Dr. Jones! I have a senior doggie named Q Tip and this video really helped. 👣🐾
Welcome
Thank you for all your videos; so helpful.
Thank you so much for this video. God bless you more!
You're welcome.
When Louis got that bone, 5 years melted off of him. He was like thanks Dad I'm out of here
Thanks
Hey you are 7 in dog years !!!Thank you so much for the wonderful tips !
Thanks and yes :-)
A marvellous video. Thank you. I am wondering if you can help - my dog is 14. He has mitral valve disease and Cushings disease. It is a nightmare getting him to take his medication 2 morning, 2 lunchtime,2 evening. Any suggestions would be welcime. Thank you.
Congrats 🎈 Great advice thank you
Thanks
Dr. Andrew
Is hemp seed oil good for dogs as well?
Thank you so much, for this so important information!!
Welcome
happy birthday!! i love your natural aproach to dogs health!! my bfs dog Archie stinks he has bad,bad wind issues. we tried yogart & charcoal which worked for a while & he also gets the runs a lot. we have to change his food every few months to help prevent it but hes always having issues. its really embarracing. hes a staffordshire bull terrier/pitbull & hes about 7yrs old & hes getting grumpy too!! hes lost teeth thru playing too hard & had a burst blood vessel in his ear which has never healed up properly & were also worried that hes just so skinny even tho he eats 2-3× what my dog of the same breed & size eats. my dogs 4 & really healthy bar his ears get infected all the time. i used diluted apple cider vinegar to clean them & put antibacterial cream on after which really helped but hes just always had it. our vet just gives anti inflamatorys which have no long term effect. sorry for tge long message but our vets just fob us off & its the pdsa in the uk so cant change vets. thankyou for your time.
Hi Caroline - this sounds like a combination of allergy/IBD ( inflammatory bowel disease). Go back to the principles of very simple diet, ( ie easily digestible protein, sweet potato as carb), add in Flax oil, high doses of probiotics.
Ty so very much🌿Dr Jones, can you kindly please tell me the therapeutic gluc. MSM dosage for my 5 lb Chieeenie?
My same litter girls are 11 and they are so well...slowing down slightly and sleeping a lot more.. we’ve made a few changes and I’ve got a little camper car so we’re out for a good long day without the walking...✌️.. our dogs give us the best days of our life and then we have to pay the price with the loss... x
I definitely agree.
Happy Birthday. Thank you.
Aw Happy Birthday! 🎉🎁🎊. Late I know. I am a late comer. So I may have to be giving you a whole new Birthday wish. 🤗. Love watching your videos! THANK YOU
Thank you so much! My dog is almost 14 years and I started to realize that it now is really the time that he gets old (doesn't want to walk down the stairs anymore, doesn't see and hear well etc)
I didn't knew about the supplements. Just ordered some now. Also I guess I will try to give him more raw or canned food. :)
That's good to hear.
Comprehensive. Thank you!
Thank you for making video it helped me soo much with my 14yr mini dachshund!!
You are so welcome
what specific kind of bones are best for senior dogs that won't hurt their teeth? i'm not familiar with what to buy. also what specific foods should you add to their kibble?
