I run two LT70 Woodmizer Sawmills one of them is extended to 56 ft. and a Lucas dedicated slabber sawmill. With lots of support equipment. As long as the log isn't a redwood or sequoia from the pacific NW just bring it to me and we will make something from it.

Fire wood
Hope you and your family are OK - the trees can get cut up and removed . I had 21 huge ash trees come down in a storm one time on my property. A lot of work , the important thing was my home and family were safe.
You were blessed you will have a bunch of lumber to sell the bad part is all the stumps and brush
You know it's wet when pines uproot. Glad y'all ok
Where is this?
Middle GA.
@@customsawyer2526 gosh dang. I hope everyone is ok and that's a great dog you have.
You definitely have your work cut out for you.we prayed from Cheyenne Wyoming y’all would be ok. I hope it worked God bless yall
At least you don’t have to worry about having to uproot them
You can replant trees etc glad you made it. God bless you and your families.
Miss your videos Jake - excellent lessons you taught me. Thanks from Norfolk, U.k.
I enjoyed making the videos but they really hinder getting any production. Then I learned how much I was helping my competition of other sawmills just down the road. Kind of stings when you learn that you are sharpening the knife that they are using to stab you in the back with.
@@customsawyer2526 Completely understand. Protecting your business has to be the priority. For this reason proper sawmilling knowledge is like gold dust, which made your contribution all the more valuable. Don't let the bastards grind you down!
Well done video! Thanks for posting!
Do you have to surface on four sides first?
I do on my flooring as I want a nicer finish that you get with smaller bites. On paneling I don't worry about it. If you look at the infeed side they are going in rough.
Thanks, video well done
Hi papa Jake!!!
Hey Sawyer
Good video Mr. Dean.
What dust collector are you using?
On the Slabmizer I'm just using a cheap small one from Harbor Freight.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing.
What do you do with all those cutoff edges?
I think I need to adjust my blade guide arm after seeing this. Simple set on an LT40 is great unless you have it set for one inch and accidentally hit it mid way through a log. Thank you for going through all of these settings.
Blade guide arm is a little different on a LT40. Still needs to be adjusted right for the lumber and timbers to come out right.
@@customsawyer2526 the manual I have goes into the details on how to make the adjustment. There is definitely something misaligned though because the head started shaking after my accidentally bumping the down head lever mid log with 1” drop setting. It threw the blade off the wheels when that event occurred but didn’t break… but now shakes even with new wheel belts, new blade, and also checked the drive belt setting. It was like a sewing machine before.
@@willmegehee What shakes? The blade guide arm when you grab it. The mill head?
@@customsawyer2526 the blade guide arm is causing the shaking the best I can tell. I may have a loose adjustment wheel on the blade guide arm. I’m going to check the blade alignment and blade guide tomorrow.
VERY impressive.
What model is this planner ?
It is a M800 I think. Can't remember for sure.
nice job! what kind of power do you use? 1ph or 3ph?
I have both. The Slabmizer is a single ph. machine. The planers in the background is 3ph.
Why havnt we seen this machine before? looks pretty new
I bought it new right at a year ago. Wish I could use it more than I do.
Great video, thanks for showing us around.
Amazing! The hydraulic system is really sweet!
Hey Buddy 😂
You have to have a good hose, it’s to far to shovel it out to the pile. 😂😂
Wow you can see the sawdust flying through there. Seems like it would be fun just to take it off the saw and suck up what's on the ground like a giant shop vac
I've had to do that a few times. It's only fun for about 5 minutes or so.
Super useful information!
Great video. thanks!
Great video. Loved that you used sheathing for your baffles, gonna start doing that myself!
Thanks for explaining the blade alignment
Excellent work. The operation sure has come along.
I'm new with alt30 my blade brides I put a different blade and now it's sinking down it keeps going down
Sounds like the mill is out of alignment. Possibly set is wrong on the blade
Need some advice. I'm sawing white oak for trailer decking. Can I screw it down green an put diesel and oil on it . Or do I have to let it dry first?
I recommend screwing it down green. Let it dry in place for a couple of months and then spray it top and bottom.
@@customsawyer2526 thanks. That what I was hoping you would say.
Washington state chiming in here... appericiate all your content! Knowledge, experience and respect 🙏. I'm piddeling around with my 2013 lt40 and Powermatic 180. Would love to come see youe operation, almost retired so time to travel around. Thank you!
we have tons of ambroshia maple . most of our tree had the bugs in them at one point... Beautifull stuff for sure..
Hi! Discovered you through Nathan/Out Of The Woods, and I'm grateful for it... Keep up the great work.
bout time you put something out, keep it up
The cameras and editing take a lot of time away form production. Thanks for noticing.
I gots me one of them there Woodmizer sawmills and I want to be like Jake Dean when I grow up, because it looks like to me he's got it made.
That's an amazing machine.
Yes Sir. It leaves a nice finish too.
