      I enjoyed making the videos but they really hinder getting any production. Then I learned how much I was helping my competition of other sawmills just down the road. Kind of stings when you learn that you are sharpening the knife that they are using to stab you in the back with.

      I do on my flooring as I want a nicer finish that you get with smaller bites. On paneling I don't worry about it. If you look at the infeed side they are going in rough.

    I think I need to adjust my blade guide arm after seeing this. Simple set on an LT40 is great unless you have it set for one inch and accidentally hit it mid way through a log. Thank you for going through all of these settings.

    • @customsawyer2526
      @customsawyer2526 9 місяців тому

      Blade guide arm is a little different on a LT40. Still needs to be adjusted right for the lumber and timbers to come out right.

    • @willmegehee
      @willmegehee 9 місяців тому

      @@customsawyer2526 the manual I have goes into the details on how to make the adjustment. There is definitely something misaligned though because the head started shaking after my accidentally bumping the down head lever mid log with 1” drop setting. It threw the blade off the wheels when that event occurred but didn’t break… but now shakes even with new wheel belts, new blade, and also checked the drive belt setting. It was like a sewing machine before.

      @@customsawyer2526 the blade guide arm is causing the shaking the best I can tell. I may have a loose adjustment wheel on the blade guide arm. I’m going to check the blade alignment and blade guide tomorrow.

    Nice looking dog . I have a question . Do you perfer silver tip blades over double hard . Was thinking of going to silver tip . Wasnt sure if i would be dissapointed or not been running .055x 1 1/4 double hard . Any info you can give will be helpful thanls!

    • @customsawyer2526

      I run the .055x1.5 silvertips. They can't take as abrasive material as Double hard but they can be sharpened and run again a couple more times before breaking. If you are in mostly dirty logs than get the double hard. If most of your logs are clean or you have a debarker than give the silver tips a try. Hope this helps.
