I wanted to share with friends and viewers what one of my desert exploring trips are like. I often mention to friends how neat and beautiful the desert is and how much fun I have when I go.

I really enjoyed the documentary! I remember when we used to drive on base (Mayport) to pick up my father at work, and when my mom worked for the USO, there was always this F4 Phanton sitting at the end of the runway that ran parallel to the road getting in. That's back when my Dad served on the Saratoga. I even got to witness the F4 doing touch n go's on the deck of CV60 on a tiger cruise back in the day. It was awesome. I love that I was the 1000th liker of this one! Congrats and keep up the amazing work. As a videographer and Photographer, I really love the angles and it overall was a nice production.
Dude no seat belt! I was a firefighter and could tell you horrible stories about people not wearing seat belts, dirt road or not
Music sounds like a very short loop. Good video.
When i was a kid a built a model F105 Thunder Chief , i had it suspended from my bedroom ceiling by fishing line ...
Colonel Tomb never existed , he was a myth created by US airmen to explain how they got shot down by an NVAF pilot
👍🏻 Thank you for another super video !
Great video ! You sure do put on some miles (rough ones at that) in bringing these downed aircraft to us ! Thanks again
Thanks for another awesome aircraft discovery post crash, much appreciated 👍🏻
Thanks for taking us along with you ! I appreciate all of the effort it takes and expense involved 😊 Really enjoyed your video 👍🏻
I joined that squadron (VF-154) about 3 months after that crash.
My dad took me to an F-104 crash site in the Mojave Desert back in the day. He worked on Edwards Air Force Base. The pilot got out ok and the jet plane was still smoking sticking in the desert sand nose first. ^..^~~
Im here in Arizona, back in like 2010 or so I seen a Phantom that I do believe it was painted with a drone. It had orange & I also believe it had white. Back in the day I built a RC ( radio control) F4 J ,painted it in Blues Angels paint scheme as #4. This was back in mid 90s
good work sir.
The flight crew in the accident airplane and the producer-director in a second camera ship departed for a planned aerial photography flight. During the filming operation, the director issued a series of instructions to the accident flight crew, and the flight crew maneuvered their airplane pursuant to the instructions. After filming for about 1 hour, the producer, who was in the camera ship at 5,500 feet mean sea level (msl), directed that the accident airplane's crew to perform a "sharp snap roll to the right and pull down out of frame." The crew responded by rolling into a right 135-degree bank and descending. During the attempted recovery from the near split "S" course reversal turn, the airplane impacted the underlying 3,100-foot elevation hillside. Cameras in the accident airplane and the camera ship recorded video and audio during the accident flight that was reviewed during the investigation. No abnormalities in the accident aircraft were observed. The severity of the impact and fire damage to flight controls and associated system components precluded confirmation of their preimpact integrity. Examination of available airframe and engine components revealed no evidence of preimpact mechanical malfunction.
The National Transportation Safety Board determines the probable cause(s) of this accident to be: The flight crew's failure to maintain terrain clearance during an intentionally performed course reversal turn at low altitude. app.ntsb.gov/pdfgenerator/ReportGeneratorFile.ashx?EventID=20060306X00269&AKey=1&RType=HTML&IType=FA
Pilot (front seat) The pilot, age 43, held an airline transport pilot certificate with the following ratings: airplane single engine land, airplane multiengine land and glider. He held FAA authorization to fly an experimental L39 airplane. According to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) records, on the pilot's August 2005, application for a second-class aviation medical certificate, he reported 5,500 total civilian flight hours. No military flight hours were reported. The pilot's logbook was not recovered for examination. The pilot's flying experience in the model of accident airplane was not determined. Pilot (rear seat) The pilot, age 60, held a commercial pilot certificate with the following ratings: airplane single engine land, airplane multiengine land limited to center thrust, and instrument airplane. He held FAA authorization to fly an experimental L39 airplane. According to FAA records, on the pilot's December 2004, application for a second-class aviation medical certificate, he reported that his total civilian and military flight time was 2,000 and 500 hours, respectively. The pilot's logbook was not recovered for examination. The pilot's flying experience in the model of accident airplane was not determined. app.ntsb.gov/pdfgenerator/ReportGeneratorFile.ashx?EventID=20060306X00269&AKey=1&RType=HTML&IType=FA
Good stuff but no need to kill snakes way out there , just walk around it.
NO reason to carry snake shot @7:10 ...leave them alone...no reason to kill them, poisonous or not. Learn the couple of poisonous types in your area for ID purposes and the rest you don't have to worry about anyway. Interesting crash site though.
invasive species lol
Please stop using music. It’s distracting. Not every video needs a soundtrack.
It's his channel, he can if he wants to.
Lose the music
great video man, but out of respect for people who died in that crash you shouldn't be touching or moving the wreckage parts...
Kudos, Fernando... you always keep the explorer spirit alive....!!!! Best, Mercedes P.
Good to see that all the comments during your UA-cam absence, that you might have died on a desert adventure, were wrong. You and the truck are both looking more unchanged than expected!
wow didnt expect to see this video. Hopefully you keep uploading. Love your content and explores.
These planes were used by the CIA to smuggle huge quantities of cocaine under the guise of the US Forrest Service (why they were stationed in Idaho).
Hey Fernando, just caught this a bit late, but good to see you back. I just missed you, as I belonged to LandOps for a couple of years, but living in Phoenix, didn't prove to be too practical. But I'm with you on desert exploration. I do quite a lot myself, and it's good to be where no one else is, and see what no one else sees. 73's, W7DSY.
F105 one of my favorite planes I seen many coming going from Dobbins AFB those planes made a awesome Thud sound when the AB kicks in it was like no other.
Yeah I love that howling like noise they made when diving in on a target so cool
Use to see the F-105’s leaving Dobbins also. One of my favorites at the time. I lived near Stone Mountain, Ga
The no slat J model. Loved flying the Phantom
Great videos. I’d love a vid on your Blazer.
Welcome back Fernando, hope to see more videos in the near future!
Great video, please give us the coordinates and remember: your polite voice is being drowned out by the redundant music. Cheers.
Wow that was some UA-cam break! Only just discovered your channel. I do Deseret trips also and plan to explore some historic plane crash sites in Western Australia.
The Corsair was my favorite WW2 fighter, and the P&W R2800 the best engine of the time. Thank you Fernando hope to see more like this.
Glad to see you again, like the video, hope to see more, love the crash sites hope to see more of them. PS love to see the white Blazer again to. 🚐🏍🤠🤠🤠
Way cool!
Glad to see you back! One day I hope to make it to see the Albatross crash site. One of your most interesting videos!
Awesome to see you posting again. I love the desert as much as you do and appreciate all the work involved in producing a quality adventure. Was wondering what that kite shaped stone placement is ? 4:00 was thinking direction marker for ww2 pilots? but it looks more native anthropogenic like the turtle near Barstow. Can you clue me in.
Thanks! I can't confirm any info on the rock formation as of yet. After visiting it I believe it is Native American related and Plan to do some research and follow up.
At first I thought it was a marker for a town/camp/mine or military training area starting with Y. Then I thought it might be a cocktail glass. In any case, I think its style is more 1920s to present, than Native American, but you never know. People have always liked playing with rocks, and using them as art, pointers, or a way to mark territory.
Welcome Fernando.. we miss you where were you? Hope you continue with your amazing videos....Good!!!
Just watched the new video! I felt compelled to comment. Ive been a long time follower hope all is well love your videos
Pleasantly blown away by your return...Blazer looking strong...drone shots are beautiful... what is the two wheeler?
Mid 80's Yamaha BW200
@@aircraftcrashsites1747 Wow, it looks like a cross between a Rokon and a TW200, which would have been my first two choices for an exploring bike. You've just given me another choice to research.
Nice to see you again. Been a wile. Have a safe time
Where were you
I visited an area east of Amboy around Route 66 on this trip for the most part.
@@aircraftcrashsites1747 no, l meant where were you the past 8 years
@@ballygeale1 All has been well! Been doing desert trips as times flies by. I hope to add more videos as time permits and I really appreciate the viewers who like the desert scene! The following video is a project I was involved with.... "Mysteries of Lucky Nugget". It's a story about the Old Woman Meteorite.
I love everything about this.
Yes!!! Good to see you’re back! Hope all well!!!
On June 26th 1972, two USN McDonnell Douglas F-4Js (#158364 & #158379) Phantom II from VF-154 "Black Knightsh collided over the Coso Range while on training flight. All four crew members managed to eject, but #158379fs radar intercept officer LTJG C. Jack Winstead was killed.
Interesting video. I did similar crash hunting as a youngster in the Scottish mountains with a list of crash sites from RAF Lossiemouth. Found a Dehaviland Mosquito. The wood was long gone but we did find one of the RR Merlin engines before the weather forced us to return to the Inn for beers in front of a warm fire. More latterly in Papua when we visited a DC3 crash site high up in the jungle, a very tough high altitude jungle trek. This was the epic WWII Shangri La aircraft of great fame. A later visit to the site by a friend discovered a college ring which he traced the owner of and returned to their family in the US some 70 years after the crash.
Me too. I waded out to the flying boat wrecks in broome Australia to see a Dornier and PBY Catalina, both almost complete but obviously very corroded from being in the sea for decades. Also in Dartmoor UK a Lancaster site - loads of molten metal and small parts. Finding a 'Mozzie' must've been very exciting!
I found this video and your comment by accident. I had read lost in Shangrila and a friend from Our local Lions Club had been Commissioned by the Queen of England to spelunk caves in New Guinea. Before watching a show of His Exploits that He accomplished with other spelunkers and a troop of native porters and guides familiar with the native method of scaffolding cliff sides He insisted we all share a drink from a genuine native gourd. As we watched the presentation We all noticed that the Native’s went completely naked except for what We just drank from covering their Coileach. I hopeI got that Scots Gaelic translation right. Thought You might get a laugh out of it. I grew up at the base of Whites Hill in Fairfax Ca. The site of a B-17 crash on its approach to Hamilton Field. My Grandfather and One of My Uncles guided the Army to the site. See B-17 crash Whites Hill Marin County. A High School Friend Wrote a Story about it . We are in the credits. Distant ancient relatives who had been defeated by the Romans at the Sombre River in Belgium were later used as mercenaries along the Scottish Border and influential in the evolution of the English Language. I like Old Blind Dogs and Allistair Begg too.
What does Muhammad and Michael Jackson have in common? They are both pedophiles.

I seen another plane like this closer to hwy 178 it looks like the same type of plane
They have the 20mm Gatling gun on display at the Kernville airport. How they got that out of there I’ll never know.
