You misunderstood me. In your case, you were suppose to make a comment before you watched the video. Just like my reply here. It was entered before you made this comment. I am always one step ahead of you. I've got my eye on you. 👁️

That's something that typical of many Windows apps. Most put hooks onto the data file while it is open or in use to prevent a user from deleting it or modifying it. Sometimes the file could be in the midst of being shared or modified by another user. Without those hooks, chaos could erupt. But PD does claim most of its data files for its own exclusive use while it is running. And the program is very capable of allowing the user to delete certain files. Why Cyberlink didn't have the brains to put the "Delete from Disk" choice on AI Image files is inexcusable. It allows the deletion for most titles and overlays.

Yes, I agree that there are lot of image generators out there with some of them producing high quality images. And the price varies quite a bit amongst all those various sources. The supposedly "Free" ones either severely limit the quality or quantity of the free ones unless you opt-in for some type of paid plan. With PowerDirector its easy to get at least 33 images a month for free or up to 63 if you click the magic gift icon every day for those extra credits. And I'm having no problems with the quality of the images being produced.

You must have purchased the Director Suite 365 which includes PowerDirector, Photo Director, ad Audio Director. I sometimes think that Cyberlink's advertising make people believe that these 3 programs are all inter-twined when in fact they have practically no direct links with one another. They are all 3 stand alone programs. Both Photo Director and Audio Director are very capable programs but as you have found out, there are other suitable applications out there at a much more reasonable price. You do not have to renew your 365 subscription to the Suite which I suspect Cyberlink is probably trying to bill you for $134.99 fee for the upcoming renewal. If you are not using the Photo and Audio Director programs that much and rely on other applications, I would be very much tempted to NOT renew the subscription for the Suite. What that would mean is that all 3 programs would continue to run but would not get any updates. Then, I would suggest you jump on a new subscription to PowerDirector 365 (not for the Suite) for only $54.99 right now. In that manner, you would still be using the updated versions of PowerDirector and for a lot less money than the Suite. I'm not exactly sure how that would work on the program installation on your system but I believe you will end up with a new serial number for PowerDirector. Which I think it would be best for you to un-install your current version of PowerDirector so that the new one installs properly. You might be best to talk to support or billing on how to best effect this change. HTH

I just tried to delete some images from My Creations and it works fine for me. I'm using the latest December update, I open "Image Generator AI" and then click on the option to use Text Prompt. From here, I can click on the button My Creations to see all the horrible images that I've created. If you want to delete just one image, right click on it and select "Delete Selected Photos". Notice that as soon as you right click on any image, a small rectangle with a check mark in it appears in the upper left corner. If you want to delete multiple images, just hover over any additional images and click on the small rectangle. When you have checked all that you want to delete, then right click on any of them and select "Delete Selected Photos.". For what its worth, PD stores these masterpieces at "C:\Users\Public\CyberLink\Downloaded AIImages Creation" but I recommend you use the program to delete any images. The new December update seems to have added separate folders for both the "text to image" and "Face + Text to Image" methods. These folders use a .JSON file to describe and maintain the folder contents. PD reads these .JSON files to load the thumbnails into the program display so unless you know how to revise the .JSON file, just let the program handles those details. HTH

It was PD365 and because it was created 11 months ago, that would make it the 2024 edition. Within the video, I even identify the version of PD as the 365 version.

They ( meaning Cyberlink) do have a simple transition template. Its called the FADE transition. But I agree with your assessment of the slideshows, they all seem to be overly fancy. I've always said the easiest and best slideshow is one you create yourself. Just drag down all the images to the timeline, set a uniform duration, and then chose one simple transition and apply using the "apply to all" option.

That's when you realize the AI background remover is just Cyberlink's quick and easy solution to jump onto the AI bandwagon. My suggestion is to utilize any of multiple online sources that will do it for free and do a much better job.

If the Ultimate (perpetual license) version doesn't have certain features such as the Sticker Maker, then I doubt if the free version does. I've really never heard from anybody who has tried the free version to get their feedback.

This becomes a complicated question and complicated answer. I've done a video or two in the past trying to explain the differences other than price. The 365 version contains multiple features that are not available in the Ultimate version so its not just a matter of updates. And the Ultimate version contains less of the titles, transitions, and overlays than you'd get with the 365 version. But Good Grief, how many titles does one need anyhow? All of those variations of titles can be created manually so it is not really necessary to have them all preinstalled on one's system. I think what it boils down to is this. Just what do you expect to do with your program. If you intend to only edit your collection of family videos and put a nice opening title at the front of each one of them, then the Ultimate version is probably the way to go. Especially if you can get all of the editing done in just over 2-1/2 years. That's the payback time when comparing costs between the versions. After that amount of time, the 365 version is costing you more than the Ultimate version. A lot of people have done just like me, that is to start out with the Ultimate version. But here I am years later and I'm still learning new things about video editing and processing every day. Besides, if I had just the Ultimate version, I wouldn't be able to bitch and complain about the stupid changes that Cyberlink is doing every month. There is a good web page comparing the differences. And if you get all you family video editing done in less than a year, you'd be out only $51.99 instead of $139.99.

Do you use those meters when recording audio or just for playback. If for playback, then I sure miss the volume control that used to be right next to them. Here is a tip on how to get the volume control back: just hit the little icon slightly to the right that looks like an X in a box. That will bring the preview window to full screen. And guess what --- when in full screen mode the preview window has a volume control.

⁠Thank you for the tip on the full preview screen volume control but that is not what I am looking for. I am talking about VU meters that shows the actual stereo output mix level of all the audio tracks that are combined together. Right now, the only VU output stereo meters that PD offers are the 2 little meters that you can bring up in the preview window by selecting “Show Timeline Preview Volume Meter” in the View window. Because of the size, I find them kind of useless in my opinion. Thank you again and please don’t stop producing your videos, they are much appreciated.

I actually recorded it that way initially but then thought because the eyeballs were so small, some viewers might have been confused as to which one was being played. So I switched to the side-by-side and used titles underneath each one.

Filmora is exactly the same, even Davinci seems to be updating far more frequently than it did in the past.

Are you tired of just getting updates or tired of the updates including useless features? I've never used Filmora so I can't give any advice about it.

@ no, I love updates! Just tired of useless ones like this. There is other stuff which I feel would be better to spend time on. I’ve been asking for the ability to use motion titles with motion tracking for as I don’t know how long. Maybe next month!

Please tell me one thing. Seems to me that PD is hyped up by most reviewers who would have you believe that it's a full feature video editor on a par with premiere pro etc. I have tried editing with FILMORA, and it seems to be a more complete software except for its lack of the 360 video editing feature. I would like you please to tell me if Vegas Pro 22 and video pro x 16 would be a far better choice for a video editor. Also, do you think Filmora 14 is more advanced than Power Director 23? I will wait for a reply before making a decision. I feel I can rely on your opinion because of your no nonsense approach.
