Great video!! I love your look and personality!! 💖 I was twist for so long and i was fed up after 4yrs and my hair grew. But i was done not wearing my hair out. Gurlll i lost some inches 😅 stopped wrapping my hair and started losing thickness. I braid the root now but i am back with twist 😅
Sunflower oil as in fish oil as in the one we use in the kitchen to fry egg/chips/amagwinya? Making sure cause I have olive oil and castor oil
Hi Zinhle I was wondering if you’ve thought about trying hair steaming to keep hydration between washes and help products penetrate. I tried it recently and really liked what it did for my hair. You don’t need a fancy hair steamer I just used a cheap clothes steamer (that I also use for my clothes) on low temp and it worked great!
Hey hun, oh hair streaming is amazing. I also wanted a steamer but I never ended up getting one because I get that same effect every morning in the shower. However you prefer to do it, please keep at it, it’s one of those things that people underestimate 🤷🏽♀️
Your hair has gotten soooo long. 👌😱 i dont think they should include the thin ends when we do our length checks. We have 2 cut them anyway.🤷♀️
Thanks hun, I think it’s important to do a length check even with the bad ends to see the progress but shortly after that show another length check with freshly cut ends.
❤ 🌟
❤️❤️❤️
Did you moisterize your hair during those three months?
Yes hun, a few times a week, every week because if you don’t moisturise all your hard work will vanish with the breakage
FACTS 💯
✊🏾
Inspired!!! 🎉❤ Gorgeous 😍
Thanks hun ❤️❤️❤️
💯
✊🏾
Onoin oil itches my scalp like crazyyyy😢
The best we can do is experiment, if it doesn’t work for you, you can exclude it in this oil mix. Don’t worry about it, there’s lots of hair growth ingredients to choose from 🫶🏽❤️
@zinhle.africa okay thank you
If I don't have olive oil is there a substitute, like can I use castor oil etc. Instead?
Yes hun, you can substitute with any other of your favourites
@zinhle.africa okay thank you sm 🙏
Please do not put other women down to put yourself up, your hair looks good btw
I hear you, I’ll keep that in mind hun 🙏🏾
I put water in my hair every day. My hair grew so much when I started this
Exactly my point, same thing happened to me. We are learning!! 🥰🥹 Well done btw 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
you took doen the braids?
Nope, just took down one of my shortest braids, just to see
Hey zee i tend to struggle to detangle my hair. It literally stays tangled after i speend hours detangling it. I have 4Z 😂 coily hair. Love and light🤍
Hey hun, my hair does the same thing. Which is why they say that our hair can never really be fully detangled. After detangling you have to stretch and keep it in place like doing a bantu knot after finishing each section.
I just installed my mini braids two days ago and am leaving them in for six months as well. I want to get to waist length by December. You are an inspiration; keep up the good work.
Hey hun, thank you for your kind words. All the best on your hair growth journey, I know you’re going to love the results 🥰 We are in this together 💃🏽 Please remember that it’s moisture over everything 🫶🏽
How would you store it? Since it has the glycerin is it shelf stable?
Hey hun, yes you can store it at room temperature and not in direct sunlight. The glycerin, the oils and the ingredients in the black soap all contribute to preserve the solution but I still wouldn’t keep a bottle for more than 2 months just to be safe.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Wishing you all the best this year hun ❤️🙏🏾🥂
Mine is 6months challenge 3 and half month don left 2 and half months
We are in this together hun ❤️ The time actually flies especially when life gets busy. 👏🏾Keep going! 🥹💃🏽
Mini braids tangles my hair so bad
I don’t think that the braids are the problem. However because they’re so small, as compared to probably your other hairstyles, they need you to be EXTRA careful when you take them out. Starting from the ends, working in small sections and using the best detangler you can find. It’s just the nature of the hairstyle. Braids actually prevent tangles. Tangles usually happen when the hairstyle is loose (like with twists) or at the point where the new growth is coming in.
How do you keep from getting buildup between the new growth and the braids?
I wash the braids every week but in previous challenges I have washed every month. It depends on the products that you’re using and how often you feel it’s best to wash but no matter what you do there will always be a little bit of build up stuck there from product and the dirt that your hair collects in the environment (eg. lint)
Ypu and your hair are absolutely beautiful. I just installed my cornrows last night to keep in for 3 months. My inspiration is the fact that I will be having a very busy lifestyle soon I am currently 8 months pregnant and I also have an 8 year old. I just want to grow my hair without having to worry about frequent styling. I just came out of having locs for the past 2.5 years back to loose hair.
Honestly, you made the best decision 🙌🏾 You will be able to maintain your hair by doing the bare minimum whilst having ample time to attend to everything else. Congratulations, for the baby on the way. I wish you all the best this year 💃🏽❤️🙏🏾
do not forget protein treatments, I do a protein treatment from time to time I would say to stay consistent do it twice a month it also makes your hair much more softer, and a deep conditioner afterwards with a leave conditioner and oil, helps and does wonders for hair as well. but trimming is a big one I need to stay in top of now. I combated dryness and breakage now to get to grow more with out the knots at the end, just did a trim today. will see how this goes for the next few months for me.
All the best hun ❤️ I love how dedicated you are to your hair, it’s so motivating to the rest of us 🥹
I've got them in right now you can wash them without locking, prevents single strand knots, the best by far. Also bond repair treatments even when your hair even isn't damaged it's beneficial for the health of everyone even 4c hair. It penetrates deep into the hair strengthening the hydrogen, disulfide and salt bonds strengthen from breakage and revives the hair structure.
Thank you for this hun ❤️🙌🏾
Hi big sis I'm a new subscriber and l just love you I see that you are obsessed with chebe powder,l wanted to ask what do you think about amla powder and which of the two is best? Thanks in advance
Hey hun, welcome home ☺️ I have a whole video on Chebe butter and one on Amla (ua-cam.com/video/rqejj_DppIU/v-deo.html) Amla powder is amazing in a hair growth oil but Chebe powder is amazing in a moisturiser because Chebe isn’t supposed to touch the scalp. So they are both wonderful, they just have different properties.
My greatest hair lesson from you in 2024 was protective hairstyling, for all seasons! Now the ultimate lesson for 2025 is letting go of synthetic extensions... That one is going to be the hardest! 😭But we can do hard things. By the way, how do you keep your African Black Soap Shampoo so liquified? Mine solidified a little and is very chunky.
You can substitute for human kinky hair. That’s what I am using with good results
Do you install your mini braids on stretched hair or damp hair? I wanted to do the mini braids challenge but after the last time I did mini braids i had stretched my hair and somehow ended up with heat damage in the front of my hair. I am now taking a break from heat, but I still want to wear them 😢 I’ve been rocking 12 chunky braids since December
You can stretch your hair without using heat, banding method or African threading method
Baaaaayyyyybeeee I am within!!🎉 So last year I shaved my hair off coz of fruastration. I then found you while contemplating whether to be a bald head forever or not. I saw your video on growing hair while broke and was shocked that I had alot of things (chebe, sheabutter, castor oil, water lol) but thought I needed money to go to the salon to do my hair. Bona I binged your videos then last Nov I decided to be intentional. My hair grew a little enough to do small twists. I made the chebe butter, got some rosemary and cloves and started to do your routine. When i tell you I jumped and danced on the roof top when on the 4th of Jan 2024 my hair could hold a braid😂. I braided my hair and I'm so excited to start the mini braid challenge until you take yours dpwn in April. Yoh mina you are my guru I love you please. Thank you Zinhle.❤ My biggest lessons from you are 1. Natural hair doesn't have to be difficult to grow and maintain. 2. Consistency and intention. 3. Love the journey, have fun.
Love to see it ❤
Me and my twins sisters biggest lesson is to moistrize our hair more often! ❤We love you so much ❤❤
Is your goal tailbone length
My goal for now is to at least reach ‘classic length’ which is below tailbone 😅
@zinhle.africa you getting there
Still got in my wig braids since October. Keeping them washed and moisturized. Imma try to hold on until February
We are holding each other’s hands in this 🥹 You’ve done so well and you’re almost there ❤️💃🏽🔥🥰
Happy new year Zinhle ! 🎉 You're getting closer and closer to your goal !
Happy new year hun ❤️ Yes, consistency can never fail us 😅❤️🙌🏾
Is castor oil good for 4c low porosity fine hair? I’ve noticed my hair doesn’t like heavy products.
Yes it’s still good but you can include it in an oil mix rather than applying it alone ❤️
@ thank you!
Exactly!
🥰🥹❤️
❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
Your hat looks nice and cosy 😅
Lol thanks hun 😅😂😂😂
You went from MBL to Tailbone Length in 9months I think that is something to jump for joy about sis 🥴 We have to give our hair and ourselves some grace ❤ sometimes I think ppl take challenges and all of the extreme hair growth too seriously. Just enjoy the process and celebrate each milestone 🎉 bc a lot of ppl would love to even see that much growth. I’m currently MBL and just installed cornrows on my natural hair as my protective style, ready to see where I’ll be in 6months 😊 Tailbone by December is the goal 🤞🏽🤞🏽
You’re totally right, patience is the hardest part of all this but gratitude should come first ❤️ You are on the right track hun, all the best with your hair goals this year. I have a feeling it’s going to be amazing 🥰❤️💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
@@zinhle.africa we’re an example to naturals that’s it IS possible to attain long loose natural hair without thinking the only way to grow black hair is by getting locs. What if you go from Tailbone length to Classic Length (right under the bum 🤭 🍑) by December 2025? 🙈🙈🙈 you’re well on your way 💗 new goal unlocked ? 🤭☺️😄
1 week down, have 5 months, and 3 weeks to go.
Well done hun ❤️ It’s going to be an adventure but you’ll start to see your hair respond back so beautifully. All the best 🙏🏾🥰
My love ❤ perfecto 🎉
Thank you hun 🙏🏾❤️
@ you welcome
i wonder
We’ll see in April when I take them out 🫣🤷🏽♀️
I've started my plait journey 1 week in 5 maths 3 weeks to go 🚶♀️
I’m so proud of you ❤️ You’re going to be shocked by the results, in the best way 💃🏽🎁❤️
So so gorgeous 😍
Thank you hun 🙌🏾❤️
Yeah they ripped my hair off then cut 4 inches off.. never ever
Oh my word, I’m sorry 😢 This is why we end up doing our own hair
starting the year off with a 3 month challenge ❤😂🎉
That’s the energy needed in this new year! Keep it up hun!!! ❤️🎁💃🏽🥰
I don’t know why people thinks keeping mini braids for long will make it to loc 😂yooo once you’re moisturizing it properly no big deal Have tried 3 months mini braid challenge and I loved it cus when I wanted to take it down I won’t lie okro did a perfect job and I didn’t lose hair Will join you soon for the 6months 😂
Exactly right! 👏🏾 Oh I’m so happy you tried okra 🍾🥂 It’s really theeeeee best! Keep going hun, may it all continue to work out for you because you’re doing so well already! 🔥🔥🔥
@ thanks sis
Galfriend I'm joining you. I will start with 2 months and see how it goes.💜
You can do 3months too , the key is to use something slippery when taking them down so your hair can untangle faster , like flaxseed gel , okra gel , aloe gel , ambunu. These are the best detangler when loosing your hair . I am not scared to keep my hair for 6 months anymore
Please do hun, you can start with whatever you’re comfortable with but remember consistently moisturising and hydrating is key! ❤️
I’ve tried the ‘ not washing your hair’ hair growth tip and it worked for me. All I do is spray it with water daily and the damp environment helps my hair to thrive.
The main hero is always going to be water, so I’m glad you’re still incorporating it, even though you don’t wash your hair as often. ❤️ If your hair is happy, that’s all that matters 🥰❤️🔥
