How to cure a pork belly and turn it into bacon! Part 2
I would like to know, is there a metal sleeve in the hub, or does the spindle just run in the wood?
I loved this video. Thank you so much for shooting it. I'm a city boy who is drawn to the old west. I think it's part of a past life. I'm in the market for buying a wagon and your showing me around it and what everything was for really helped me. Thank you for your work.
I’m so glad to hear this. Thank you so much for watching.
We don't know that what were doing here in d 🇵🇭 were called cowboy coffee☕️we just called it "kapeng barako" thats made of liberica ground coffee 😋brewing in a traditional way☕️boiling it in a caserole😋
Use that recipe lots except for sugar like your video
I just ran across this recipe. And Im so grateful that I did. It looks so good. , and yet so easy. I love recipes like this , easy and tasty.!!! That is my cup pf tea , so to speak.!!!! You seem to be so sweet , and very handsome. And best of all , a man of faith. Thank you so much for this recipe , and God. Bless you. 🙏❤
Thank you for all the kinds words. Yes it’s very easy and very good! Thanks so much for watching.
I just met this man at a chuckwagon cook. He’s an arrogant piece of works. Not impressed at all good luck, sir.
I will
I enjoyed some of your coffee at SDC...Thanks for sharing the video! Blessings.
@@deltonwatts9726 thank you for stopping by!!
Tried these today at the Chuck wagon cook-off at SilverDollarCity, best beans I've ever eaten.
@@spaceace6157 thank you very much!! One thing I added to the beans today was a can of diced fire roasted tomatoes and two diced jalapeños. Other than that, it should be pretty close. Thanks again!
I saw your demonstration at Silver Dollar City and got to taste this cake. It was delicious-thank you!
@@debbiep.9798 thank you so much! So glad you liked it.
I will have to try this for sure.
@@stuartfarris8999 let me know what you think. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing.
You bet. Thank you for watching.
What year is your chuckwagon?
Not exactly sure. I’ve been told around 1890ish.
Where can I find a skillet like what is shown at 2:50 on the video? I had one once that would cook 36 eggs, but someone stole it from me. Thanks.
@@JACKLINSANFORD they’re called lumberjack skillets I believe you can get them online and most time the handle detaches from it, but they are and metal skillet that you still season like cast-iron. Hope this helps.
Looks great Justin.
Thanks Terry!
Well, I've never seen that recipe before! Looks great. I'll have to try that. Thanks for sharing. New sub!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Thank you
Thank you for watching!
Have you ever put cinnamon into your chili
I have not. Is it good that way?
Thank you for this recipe
You bet. Thank you so much for watching.
That's how we made coffee in the Army 1st Calvary Division back in the 80s. We called it "Hobo Coffee".
Looks good..👍
Too long brother, too long. But I get it, busy is...just busy. I will have to try this one - last time I tried cobbler I put in eggs and got stick from a mate elsewhere. So I will put this one to the test. BTW would love to see some more ranch and cattle videos please. Great to have you back!
Take care of the ranch first and the momma cows and calves before that!!! When the sunshines you got to bale hay!!! Then you make blueberry cobbler as you said. ❤❤😊😊 John T.
Yes sir! Thanks John.
I’m so early- but this looks delicious!!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Your recipes are easy to follow 💜🌹
Thanks and thanks for watching!!

Great! The biscuits would be absolutely delicious with a pan of tomato sauce! So many ways to eat biscuits!
Yes there is. Thanks for watching!
I made these this morning about 3 a.m. I was bored. Thank you for the recipe they are very good and tasty🌹💜
Thank you and thanks for watching!
You don't need any biscuits with a meal like that.
No it’s a meal on it’s on! Thanks for watching.
What’s the stove called you have the oil boiling in?
I call it a Volcano. A buddy made it for me. Thanks for watching.
Nice video, well done. We still drag to the fire here in Nebraska. I have been cutting calves for over forty years and as long as my knees hold up, I will continue to do so. "Nuts" has always been a delicacy here and most resturants serve them as well. Just getting ready to send an ice cream bucket full to a fiend in Iowa from a branding I cut yesterday.
Thank you sir. That is the best way to do it for sure. Thanks for watching!
Hey Justin, I love your video and I am going to try to replicate this tonight. I tried my first peach cobbler recipe last night and it was a complete failure. It never set up in my 12" deep Lodge. This one with the flour on top looks more promising. I am one of the leaders for our Trail Life troop here in Norwalk, Ca and we strive to raise Godly men out of our children. We are getting ready to go on our first camping trip this weekend. I would love to be able to pull off your peach cobbler for our kids! Above all that, 1 John 5 11-12 is an amazing verse and is at the core of salvation! I believe I will be reading this verse around the campfire! Thanks for sharing brother!
Thanks for commenting. Yes you will pull it off, it’s an easy recipe. Thanks for investing in our youth.
@@HorsePenRanch Wow...I tried your method and it came out fantastic! This is what I will be making for our Troop's camping trip this weekend! Thanks for sharing!
@@rbreynolds thats great to hear!
Good morning sir, just thought I wish you a good day today. Have a good one.
Thank you. You as well.
Not a vent hole.............it's for the thermometer to slide in
Well, thanks for the info. That is the 1st Cabela’s Dutch Oven I’ve owned or cooked off of. I’ve only used lodge and older antique ones. I’ve been cooking in dutch ovens for almost 30 years and I have never needed a thermometer for my dutch oven. But if I ever do, now I know. Thanks for the info.
@@HorsePenRanch No problem. The Cabela's ovens are actually made by Camp Chef, but with the Cabela's name on them. That thermometer slot works great for the remote thermometers that you can put the probe in the meat, and then walk around with a remote to let you know the progress of your meat dishes. I've been cooking for over 50 years in Dutch ovens, and we have about 100+ ovens, and a 1894 Newton Chuckwagon that we do catering, competitions, educational cooks.
Now 100 ovens is a lot to keep up with! I love to hear you have a wagon. Are you a member of the American Chuck Wagon Association?
@@HorsePenRanch we just did a cook with about 50 youth; made 2 14” of Huevos Rancheros, 2 12” Stuffed Bell Pepper casserole, 2 12” Triple Chocolate Cake, and 2 14” of buttermilk biscuits. That was just last week. Have a grandson’s wedding reception that we’ll be cooking for. Cajun Stuffed Pork Tenderloin, Cowboy Mashed Potatoes, Rosemary-Garlic Rolls, and come cobblers. 😀
Hey Partner!! I was wondering if that base you were using was store bought or handmade by you OR perhaps someone else!! I’d sure like to buy a large thick cast iron kettle like what you worked on!! But just a bit intimidating if ya know what I mean!! Thanks Brother. You just got a new sub out of this video!! Keep up the good work!!
Thank you sir! I got the cutouts for that years ago and a buddy of mine welded it up for me.
Pointed your way from a feller over here in west fork, AR. Good stuff right up my alley man, thank you.
Thanks for watching! I lived in West Fork from 2000-2007. It’s a great place to live.
Were do you get a skillet that size??? Please tell me.
Buddy of mine built it for me. I helped a little but not much. Thanks for watching ua-cam.com/video/E0r_MSWMenY/v-deo.htmlsi=BN47acWQJsIeexgq
as for the grounds ..they will settle without making the coffee colder with cold water...Just let it sit for a few minutes .
Well yes they can. But they do for sure settle much better with room temp water in my experience. I never use cold water unless it’s cold outside. Thanks for watching!
Wow, I'm sold! Pulling out my enamel percolator!
Good deal. Thanks for watching!
Making coffee with an old school all steel percolator watching the snow fall near the Old West Owyhee Mountains in Idaho and watching these cowboy coffee videos. Love it.
Thanks for watching!
Could you add onions too?
Sure thing! Add whatever your heart desires. Thanks so much for watching.
Thanks for the vid, gonna have to do this to my depts Hunneman Hand Pumper fire engine.
You bet! Thanks for watching.
Doesn’t look ready to eat🤦♀️
Well, thanks for watching. I’m not sure what you mean. The bread was done all the way through and real tasty. 👍🏼
Bread dough should be wet but not wet if you get what I mean. Proper hydration is at least 50%. 3/4 C. Is not enough liquid for 2C of flour.
Exactly what I have in my recipe 3/4 a cup to a cup of milk. And that’s what I used and that works every time. I always start with 3/4 a cup because you can always add milk but can’t take it away real easy without adding more flour. Thanks for watching.
👍
Thank you for this recipe! I tried this recipe today and this was the first successful batch of biscuits that I made that did not taste or look like hockey pucks, lol! These were delicious. Thank you for sharing ❤❤🙏
Thanks! So glad they turned out good. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I use drip filters. Double them up. Done right and there will be no sediment. Oh a pinch of salt.
Do what works for you. This is the way my grandma did it and it works like a charm. Give it a try sometime. That way you do have to carry filters around. Thanks for watching!
I just made some of this today. And it is really good and smooth coffee. No bitterness at all. And pouring in the cold water does help with getting no grounds. I used putting the cold water in it and I had absolutely not one single ground in my coffee.
Yes sir it works every time. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I’m glad it worked for you. The best way to make coffee for sure. Thanks again!
