Tips Around Driving A Manual Transmission - What Isn't Explained!
Great review video. I have a question some Gen Ace 5000 mah 45C 4S batteries. Will these work or do I need to get 100c? Planning on doing some FPV and mild bashing with this platform. Thanks
Thanks for the comment! C rating is interesting because many folks say the rating on the pack is not accurate and mostly used for marketing. There have been many claiming some 45c packs have better discharge rates than 100c packs. My personal experience though is that with Gens Ace and Spektrum batteries, get the highest C rating you can. I have noticed a difference in my cars and 3D planes. 45C is fine but get one 100C when you get a chance and I think you will notice it has more kick. But get one to start before you buy several more expensive 100C batteries.
I had it with mine on the rear left outher side.
I have one, it’s great.
This entire video is nothing but a humble brag
Hmm. Please elaborate! I want to understand why you would think this?
Where did you get the hex tools for the dewalt ?
Amazon/eBay/Amain
This aug I got my first. 2010 base, 34k. Black black. I cannot get over what it’s like to have a corvette, let alone one that’s 14 years old and is as new as it came off the line. Thanks for tips brother. Followed. ✌🏼 Ryan in California
Well, I've had my 13 GS for over 4 years now and you taught me something today. I don't have OnStar and never did but I didn't know about removing the fuse. Hope I remember in the spring when she comes out of mothballs and back on the road again.
Glad you learned something! 👍
Good, informative video about the different C6 models and years. You should have mentioned the Z51 package, which turned the base into a more track focused car. The Grand Sport is pretty much a wide body Z51. And well done in going for the manual, even if you did have to learn how to drive stick !
Yeah thanks! You have a great point about the Z51 package.
i keep breaking my chasis by bashing the a arm off my 3rd time now
Nice video. Try leave in jack pucks.
Actually, not emissions. The Skip Shift feature was developed to boost the MPG and help it avoid the gas guzzler tax. The Skip Shift feature was not developed for the C6, it was actually developed in the 90s and was on not only the Vettes, but the F-Bodies as well (Camaro and Firebird)
Appreciate your knowledge, good to know!
Greetings, As always another brilliant detailed video production 🇺🇲🍾🎉🇺🇲 Would you provide me with the link to purchase the mods you have on your vehicle. Thank you so much for assisting me and keep producing more videos about the VETTE.
Thank you! Life has been crazy recently but I have recorded content ready for editing!
Sir which kit you mean ? If i got extra cash for the kit option so what do you mean exactly sir 🩵🙏🏼
(The TLR 1/8 buggy kit)
You need to adjust your mirrors. That blind spot isn't bad at all. I can tell it's wrong from the video. You shouldn't be able to see down the side of your car in the mirror while sitting in a driving position. That car doesn't have t tops. Hitting things at an angle decreases the scraping.
Someone in a board meeting probably demanded "IT NEEDS TO HAVE A WHEELIE BAR" and the engineers just rolled their eyes lol
Haha!
$499 for Mojave 6s till the end of the month 😍
Pulling the motor out is bs honestly I’ve ran it once and trying to get the motor out and I’ve done busted my knuckles and broken a mip 2.5
Yeahhhhhh it's kinda rough. But I still like it. They just need to figure out how to prevent sand and dirt from locking it up in there.
Did you ever have the early lvc happen on stock settings Just got mine and have about less than 10mins runtime until lvc Do u know if the update via laptop is the same as just changing the esc settings Please help
Yep stock mine hit LVC very early. Adjust via esc first.
@@jarrett1890 I have to the lowest at number one and still I’m cutting at 3.7/3.8’s
@@gonzodetroitify Hmm. Might be worth trying the firmware update then
@@jarrett1890 I think that’s what I need to do as punch is upto 9 now from stock, timing off, lvc at lowest and still about ten mins runtime and when lvc chips in my lipo are basically at storage or higher And all this feels weak yes I did notice a slight punch increase but not from a 6 to a 9
@@jarrett1890 sooo I have literally just completed the task. The esc say no available update so I’m on the latest 12/11/23 B5.12 Hw495 kz2 v1.2 Monster on the esc card that I can now connect Tomorrow I’ll run fresh lipo and see what lvc we get now I also put the timing back to stock as seems weak maybe that’s the lack of punch
I got mine a couple of months ago, two runs an issue. Runs at Novi RC track. Various stuff was loose, rear shocks needed a lot of oil out of the box. I think mine are same length, I had horrible driveline vibration on start of second run. Also uneven acceleration, may be bearing and/or even bad diffs. Haven’t addressed these new issues yet. No obvious visible damage. Terrible quality, I know stuff isn’t perfect in this hobby but this is just junk. RTR should be just that, should not have to spend hours fixing stuff out of the box. I’m almost ready to unload it and just sell for parts and maybe get a Tekno kit eventually. I’m really over Horizons bad quality of recent… Out of my last 5 cars from them, 3 had numerous issues… I have the 8 elite kit I built a bit ago, few issues with it. Spare time for me is limited with work and work travel, etc so just little time to build kits. Like a kit now and again, or a decent roller/slider but also don’t mind a RTR if it’s made decent. Also few issues with my Arrma TLR typhon. My backup truggy now is my 1:8 Serpent Truggy (RTR) is running now, many runs and only one small repair, stock besides a new receiver/transmitter and tires.
@@mzrzfxr We go to Novi as well! Neighbor and I were just there yesterday with our 8ight xe's. It's a great track.
@@smurfwithavette absolutely! I’m near there, it’s fun and well maintained. Two more weeks to enjoy it this season! Too bad about Hines track, fun to bash but it’s pretty rough shape.
Do u have the actual size of the esc fan Is it 25mm🫡
121 now Smurf👊🏿🥳💯 great review here Thanks you 🤙🏿🤙🏿
Your driveshaft bearing carrier is broken mate... It's missing a prong on the motor side, the bearing should clip in firmly.!
It’s worn already but there’s nothing to clamp it down…I’ve got a brand new Mojave 4s and bearing just floats in a grove….kind of dumb but that’s the way it is.
Everybody says the radiator support is easy and the video seemed easy
Wie löst man das Problem mit der mittleren Antriebswelle ich habe es leider nicht verstanden
Bisher hatte ich keine Probleme mit der mittleren Antriebswelle 👍
I just dropped a 6 pound spring on each corner and oh my God it’s a wheelie machine!!
Just dropped a 6 pound spring on each corner with a small spacer and oh my God is a wheeling machine!!!
Does every corvette have the on star option? I have a 2007 base model (bone stock) purchased from first owner, I’m curious if I should go looking for the fuse or base don’t have it
If you have the buttona on the mirror then you likely have OnStar. Honestly it's so easy to pull the fuse. Just go in the passenger footwell pull down the carpet closest to the engine. You just reach your hand up there grab the top of the carpet and pull towards the seat. You'll see the fuse box and the tools inside to remove the fuse. Let me know if this doesn't help.
Where did you get the LED lights?
There are many different sites you can get them from, so there could be something cheaper out there but this is what I got: www.corvettestoreonline.com/products/c6-corvette-interior-9-bulb-led-lighting-kit
On my first pack running on dirt and loose rocks my ‘center drive shaft’ snapped in two. Seems like a weak point. Why do you say avoid aluminum upgrade? What is the downside?
So during my first 10 or so battery packs, I also had my stock plastic driveshaft snap. I replaced with another stock plastic center driveshaft and it has held up fine after A LOT of abuse. I do not recommend an aluminum driveshaft because you are shifting the weak point to other drivetrain items that are not as easy to replace. If I were you I would try another stock plastic one. If you break another plastic one, then consider upgrading to aluminum. General rule of thumb: When upgrading to aluminum you are shifting the weak point to something else. You want the weak point on things that are cheap and easy to replace.
Ordinarily I would say that’s true but the driveshaft is telescopic so I figured it would have some give and not transfer the shock like suspension arms would. But I think going to go with plastic one more time makes sense. It’s only a $10 part. Thanks
@@Nutz_forRCs 👍
First thing I did was tint. Never had an issue
And for anyone watching this. DONT BUY A MAXX SLASH!!! They absolutely suck!!! Mojave 4s will run circles around a Maxx Slash all day every day! And the Maxx slash is 6s!
I absolutely second this! But for other reasons. My maxx slash lasted 13 days before the esc shit itself. (Sent whole car back for full refund) . Parts are expensive, from new all suspension components, hubs and steering are very sloppy. Mojave 4s is far superior in terms of the build quality, dirt protection etc. Parts are cheaper. Very durable. And £350 less than the maxx slash!
This guy has NEVER had a SENTON...
Senton vs Mojave 4s?
Doing wheelies is ABSOLUTELY POINTLESS!!! I'll never understand why people like them... I want a truck that stays grounded 90 percent of the time
"Well, that's like, your opinion man".... 😉 😉 I love wheelies because they take a little bit of skill to get right.. Saying that, some RCs I do like to stay planted, like my buggies.!
As far as that goes ….RCs are absolutely pointless !
Mine mist a bearing in the rear hubcarier.
hey I see you have a ls3 I just got mine like 2 months ago and completely stock I was just wondering if ls engines are all noisy like sewing machines mines a lil loud not terrible unless parked next to stuff
I would look up some UA-cam videos of stock LS3 engines running. You might just be hearing normal valve noises or something. I happen to have a neighbor right now looking at a older C6 with a LS2, ironically has a similar concern with idle engine noise.
@@smurfwithavette I cant find any videos ive been always looking but everyone has said its normal for an ls3 ls2 ls etc to sound loud idle like a sewing machine no performance and love the car prefer blue tho so ill give you mine if u give yours
Can't wait for your caliper painting tutorial I need to do mine as well they look like yours.
Yeah I'm trying to figure out if I just clean them and use caliper paint, or if I should get them professionally powder coated. One or the other will happen next spring when I replace pads and rotors. Probably the best time to do it.
@smurfwithavette yea I was going to get them powder coated but the shop i went to quoted me 3500 to do it.. and 900 to paint them so yea, I'm gonna DIY paint them it doesn't look too hard..
Hey they have these 32 dollar Maxxhaul ramps on Amazon that are awesome that have a little dip for your wheel to settle into and a stopper,, very easy and intuitive to use i used them yesterday.. way easier to store as well then those huge clunky wooden ramps..
Very informative video and well presented. I have a 2007 Vette convertible which I have owned for 10yrs and I love it. I changed the exhaust to a Corsa sport also and it sounds sweet with no drone. I also changed the cabin air filter and the old one was filthy. I didn't think about the On Star fuse but I will pull it out. One thing you didn't mention is to check the harmonic balancer for wobble. It is a common problem on the LS2 and LS3 engines and can cause major problems if you ignore it.
100% right! Harmonic balancer is definitely something to watch out for.
I ended going with an 84mm 5.4# spring up front and 90mm 5# spring in the rear with 50W oil front/rear. Front and rear have M2C racing 15mm spacers and the small clip spacer from Arrma. Ride height is perfect for me. Dampening on both compression and rebound is excellent. Track handling is a lot better and still has fast action for fast straight line bumpy terrain. Other mods include Ali aluminum center drive, Globact steering bell crank including servo arm. Globact aluminum pivot balls. Had the Globact servo saver as well but the spring is weak and it binds inside the housing causing tons of play in the steering. Put factory saver back in with aluminum arm. I'm a little wary of the center drive being aluminum but so far so good.
link for the steering wheel
Look up on eBay or Amazon 'C6 steering wheel'
The C6 never had t-tops, they are called TARGA tops. The C3 was the last generation to have t-tops.
I did some research and you are 100% right! Learned something new thanks 👍
You might be right. But also the t in "t tops" could mean targa 🤷♂️😂
@@chroma6625 nope, t-tops are two pieces of “glass” separated by a bar in the middle. Targa means no bar in the middle and one piece of “glass”
That’s not a T top. And ignore his comment on the window tint. Get them tinted it looks awesome. This guy is a P word. Take my advice and don’t buy a corvette with ugly tan interior like this guy has.Get all black or all black with the two tone seats. Sale the original parts to buy new parts. This guy has an awful opinion. Absolutely lower the car. Learn how to drive it. You may have to take inclines at an angle. Both of my z06’s are on aftermarket lowering bolts and they look awesome and I’ve never made a mistake. Disregard this video.
My program options in my book don’t have as many as yours I put the punch at 6 seems a lil more responsive gives a lil more kick
Interesting. I would recommend going to the horizon hobby website, find the Mojave 4S store page, go under the 'support' tab, and download the latest version of the manual
I couldn't imagine not having tinted windows lol
Especially here in nor cal 😂
You can get 70% ceramic tint that will keep the heat out and protect your interior better without having to go so dark.
@@jeffstephenson4156i also don’t like people looking inside my shit so i have 5% 😂
@@mass9213 well, there is that too! Lol!
not T tops.
Thanks for the tip on the Onstar! I just picked up a 2006 and am doing front & rear cameras and a radio swap for Bluetooth and the cameras. For me, having at least a rear camera and bluetooth is a must have.
There have been so many times that I wish I had a backup camera. It's weird having the back of the car so close to me in the driver's seat!
It’s called a cowl panel cover young fella.
You learn something everyday! Lol
Udders , not Utters…lol. My C5 had this bad design and it became plugged with the water filling the heater box, dripping down on the BCM and fuse box. I found it too late, not a happy camper. After finding the cause, I took a single edge razor and lobbed the end off, no more blockage. Just bought an 11 GS, have to check it out. Great vid, an important one as well. On my C5 the drain for the heater box was behind the cylinder head on the passenger side. I actually could only reach it by standing aside of the car facing forward, snaking my hand down to find the drain udder. It’s much smaller than the one for your wipers.
Hmm. Not a bad idea to cut the end off! Would have been a easier and better design from factory too.
I've had my C5 14 yrs. and have only learned about the rain ducks a few yrs. ago. So I've had water drain into my passenger footwell several times 😢 from those and the AC condensation tube. Which I just learned about last year after when that drained into my passenger footwell. Which is what you're referring to? Had a shop clean it while they had my Toque tube out. And wks. later it fell out in my garage. Is it ok to keep it out or can the condensation water still drain into my passenger floor?
@@lorigilbert3173 Well, on my 2000 Convertible, it was leaking at the passenger footwell like yours, and actually getting into the fuse box and Body Control Module (BCM) next to it. It actually corroded everything, even my fuse box connections. The drain / udder I had issues with was on the passenger side firewall between the right rear cylinder head and wall itself. Snuck my hand down and cut the end off with a single edge razor. FULL dead bugs and leaf matter. Hope this helps.
C7 style Morimoto headlights. Trust me, super bright and looks badass.
I think the skip-shift was as much to do with Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) as it might have been for emissions. Automakers had to meet certain MPG requirements averaging all of their productions to hit the Fed specified CAFE mandate…nice video
I am not 100% on this, but I heard that the skip-shift idea came to fruition to avoid charging customers the gas guzzler tax. It might actually make sense because I looked up "What are the requirements to bypass a gas guzzler tax" and the result was "Combined fuel economy of at least 22.5 mpg: No tax".
