I use ceramic baking beans now, much better than rice! E files are also a big help 🥰

The rice or beans are there to keep the water at a warm even temperature. If it’s too hot you will burn the acetone and it will evaporate, too cold and it takes longer to work. I prefer the baking beans because they’re reusable and keep the water at a more even temperature than the rice… plus the rice goes all icky and I don’t like it 😂 The cotton pads in the bag are there to rub your fingers against after the acetone has had a few minutes to start working. well.... you got a box 😂 ahhhh sorry - it does work, it will be good to practice with, but it is very overpriced and the powders arnt fantastic. There are some really good brands out there, Lavender violets liquids are cheap and work really well 👍

😢 don’t be disheartened. It does work, it’s just that the instructions are rubbish and it’s overpriced. Use it as a practice set. My fave liquids atm are by a brand called dipped uk, give them a look if you fancy x

Please try them…I was very discouraged after watching this…but my own experience today has been very surprising.. it worked perfectly and I am delighted with the finish on my nails. Thank goodness as I ,like you didn’t hold much hope seeing how item arrived.

@@willowtreecottage8233I did try them yesterday. I’ve done a pretty good job I think. I’ve used a pink glitter ( Flirty ) which is really nice and Flamingo… which I’m not so keen on. It’s very translucent and even with 3 dips it’s a bit insipid. I did get powder everywhere as my pots were so full, but mustn’t complain about that. The fact that the bottles of liquids have screw off false bottoms is another example of the smoke and mirrors of the company. The product seems to work perfectly well, just be honest with the marketing !! I will probably try Lavender Violets next 👍

You’re the second person to tell me that 🤦🏻‍♀️ story of my life 🤣 they should rate the difficulty level of the powder on their website… the holographic one looked awesome. I will go back to it, I might even try using the holographic powder over dip powder; I love the feeling of acrylic nails 🥰

i had it on for about 10 days and zero signs of cracking which is a good sign! i am going to do a glamrdip wear test next to see how long they last 🤩 i was impressed with how glossy the top coat was, even though it took slightly longer to dry.. im waiting for a delivery from them - i bought those funky line art pens 🥳

The pigment in the brand I used was weak, I'd end up with thick nails due to multiple coats and it would take me so long to do! My nails are weak and break/bend easily. Don’t give up 🙏🏻 you know what really helped me? Doing swatch sticks. Just practicing which liquids to use in what order, doing the filing, and making them look nice.

I think the SS formulation is more sensitive to the acetone in the activator. Which should in theory make it more hard wearing!? But can mess up your brushes annoyingly.

I’ve used NOCIS powders from Temu and they were fine, quite nice actually. Glamrdip liquids are lovely, take a bit longer to dry but that means they are more easy to ombré, and their top coat is very glossy!! 🥰

@@hayley-DNA I think I ordered a NOCIS one too, lots of things fell into my basket that day 😆 I’m in a similar boat with growing out my nails after biting them for years and now wanting to do everything but not having the time (or space🙈)😄

It does work, but depending on what they have sent you the quality of the kit probably isnt great 😢

Yes! i always use a dehydrator (sassy saints calls it prime it) - gets rid of any oils that can potentially cause lifting 😊

No, you do the tint after everything is taken off. I need to find a better tint, I used a cheap one and it only lasted a couple of weeks. The lash lift is still going strong tho!!! Must be over 6 weeks now 🤩

Story of my life 😂 picking the hardest options first!!! The very last colour I tried, the holographic, looked so good - I think I had just got so annoyed by then… I’ll leave it on the shelf for a while and might try it again 🙂
